8 months later… Med Ursa is here, cargo gameplay almost here. Polaris almost here (I assume to see the Galaxy soon after). Your video’s keep me going at this point. I have had these ships sitting in my hangar for so long and I can’t wait to get my hands on them

But what I'd REALLY love to see, and would even be willing to pay to see, is the RSI Polaris. I've really fallen in love with this ship over the past few months. It was a mild interest until they had the ISC 'Following the North Star' episode where they showed off the remastered concept interior. As much as I love the Galaxy, I could actually see the Polaris becoming more of my daily driver. She's quite the ship. Great video and awesome job building the Galaxy in such detail. Regarding the hangar doors I think the most likely solution would be that the doors fold outwards like a ramp since nothing else will fit.
I hope you are right about that but my guess is they won't turn into a ramp because they don't want it to be able to load large vehicles like tanks even if there is no real reason not to besides selling bigger ships.
I believe in a q&a they said no rear ramp for galaxy because of pad or hangar restrictions at that time....possibly will change. My guess is they may be like an accordion door
great Video man. At citcon they showed a gound vehicle that suppose to be made in the next 12 months it looks like an ursa so alot of us our assuming its the medical ursa.
thank you for this. in any one of your next galaxy videos pls show us a galaxy without any module to the best of your ability with provided information
Have a look the first part - that is what I did there. According to the blueprints no module would give you the same space, just without cargo grids, elevators, tractor beams and so one - but still the commando room, that seems to be part of the main ship.
This is such a great video, and in combination with the first one, I absolutely love that you are doing this. The only thing that I can hopefully add is that I believe the doors open outward. From the promotional material (specifically the brochure page, not the normal ship sales page) on image 5 of 11 (the one with a pisces flying out the back) you can see the door opened down like the door on the bed of a pickup truck. It does not look big enough to be the whole door though, and if I recall the ship model of it, there is a seam in the back door running from the middle side to the middle side. This would indicate that the door opens in 2 halves and that the top half folds up and out, while the bottom half folds down and out. Similar to how the back door on a C2 folds down and out.
As someone who's been excited for concept ships for 10 years now, I deeply appreciate the effort that went into this and the previous videos. It's not my first big ship, but the Galaxy is the first big ship I've felt a clear-eyed sense of excitement over, and these videos are giving me a "First Look" a year early. The collected incorporation of your own feedback, as well as highlighting layout issues with the medical trolleys, is an added bonus. I'm hoping CIG's own white- and greybox process fixes most of them, and fingers crossed incorporates some of the Apollo's tech like the medical drones.
Where does the back hangar door retract into? There doesn't seem to be enough room. It should swing open outwards, that would even create a small ramp for vehicles to drive off of, when exiting the ship while landed. That would be the best option, IMHO. Another option would be a rolling door, like a roll-top desk.
@@sterlingdennett I think someone confirmed its a folding door, like on a caterpillar. Can't use it as a ramp though, that hangar is very high above the ground.
About medical Ursa Rumor Origin. There was one leak where the name "Ursa Red" was found in the gamefiles and then there was the Ursa image in the CitCon Vehicle teaser part.
I'm enjoying the series. melted a few ships to pledge for this one, hoping to hear from CIG when it is planned to release! I wondered if the hanger door would "roll" up and run horizontally with the hanger ceiling, an up and over maneuver?
The medical module is really cool, although it might be overkill for the majority of players. I feel like they could release a hybrid module where it gives you a T2 med bay and some cargo or exploration capabilities. This would bring it in line with how CIG labeled it as a great multirole ship
I'm pretty sure the med ursa is just speculation from several content creators that started because OF the galaxy's med module's lift. That said there was a road map round up that mentioned a team working on a bed in a vehicle as well as the ursa in the citcon teaser segment that they use to as evidence that they are right in their prediction but to my knowledge there has not been a true 'leak' of a med ursa.
So I guess ships can be whiteboxed a lot quicker than CIG do :') I can't believe the amount of work you've put into this video! Well-deserved subscribe!

I think the Medical Ursa rumors stem from the Ursa silhouette shown at CitizenCon with all the upcoming ships/vehicles. Also, if you want to create any new/unannounced modules, I'd love to see a combat module. I know, I know, not every ship needs to be combat oriented. I just thought it would be awesome to have a module that gives the Galaxy one of the Perseus' size 7 ballistic turrets and maybe an extra shield and armory.
White walls, black floor, bright white lights the entire ambience is perfect. I wish CIG would follow that theme for this ship but knowing them it'll be grey and some weird accent color like a dark blue, low dim light. This gets my hopes up maybe they'll see this video and get inspired by the colors used
Cargo module should be a whole elevator! There needs to be something other than the Lib and the Herc to carry Novas and Spartans! Also love the vids, keep up the good work!
Great work, as always. They have already confirmed that the Galaxy is being worked on along with the Polaris & Perseus. The Apollo will need more time because of the Shepard Medi-lift drones that are the key feature of that ship.
Very nice work :) I saw it was already mentioned that the hangar could open outward, like it does on many other smaller ships that wont fit the actual doors :) And the Ursa Medivac is now actually a thing! And lastly the modules could have their own power and modules, since the system requirements could differ alot in terms of power and cpus depending on which module you put on the ship, it is asking alot to have the Base ship being able to provide the power needed for No Module and the Processing module (Which i would guess used the most power ot of the 3),so the module having its own power etc could make sense? :)
@@ace_tristPWN I dont remember, but it would make sense, i have a vague feeling they have mentioned modules affecting the ship when it comes to specs like weight and how it flies etc, cant remember if they actually mentioned power and stuff too, should be mentioned in some Q&A videos or showcase videos of some modular ship, but the Galaxy feels like the biggest variation of modules of the recent ships so if i would go looking i would go through that material, but im sure you have done that already :) I am very sure they have said that the Command Module for the Caterpillar will need to have its own modules since its a detatchable part of the ship. So im guessing the tech for modules / parts of ships needing their own modules must be in there somewhere. Same with the garage for the Crucible i guess, so why not ship modules too :)

Only irritating mention was T2 being able to spawn, which got pushed towards T1 only for a longer while now.

Can confirm Nursa is real. So happy I picked up the complete pack in buy back! This will be my new medical ship certainly. Thankyou for the great content as always!
you can see in a lot of component storage designs that the doors hinge outward, then pull into the hull/supporting structure, im betting this might be a viable option for the galaxy hangar door
I understand that CIG really want the arrowhead shape. But in order to achieve it, they added large triangular sections with cut-outs that don't serve any purpose other than maintaining the desired shape. I find this really jarring as no manufacturer would add a few hundred tonnes of metalwork onto a ship - impacting it's performance and fuel use - for no purpose. IMO CIG should either add something of value in this wasted space (larger module, extra storage or a couple of guest berths for example), or remove it and reposition the two side turrets into a top and rear formation, giving the Galaxy more of a spearhead shape.
It should have a back hanger door that lowers 90 degrees from vertical to horizontal, then it lowers like an elevator to the ground, just like a tail-lift you find IRL on the back of heavy-goods vehicles
I don't think they've announced or hinted at anything like this but I think this could be a great opportunity for CIG to introduce a medical snub ship for RSI and have it be around the same size as the Fury and with only enough space for a single pilot and a medical troly like bed to transport injured patients but not provide support until they reach the actual medical ship such as the galaxy.
The rear hangar doors actually fold out and up/down from the image I remember. As in flat in relation to the floor and ceiling. They MAY partly or fully retract under the floor/ above the ceiling?
Really impressed with your work .TY . Just an idea : If they removed the wall between the module area and the hanger area for the base building version of the ship we could make the large base units and lower them to the ground .
I have to say you've done a better job on the Galaxy. But at the same time you still have some mistakes and I am still surprised you haven't noticed them in the concept art. For instance, the hangar doors in the rear of the ship will not slide up and down vertically. Because if you look at the concept art very carefully you will noticed that the doors are actually divided into 1/4 sections where the first two 1/4 sections will fold flat out the back of the door upward and the other two 1/4 sections on the bottom half of the door will fold out flat in line with the floor of the hanger. As for the bridge section of the ship you still have the main glass area pushed too far back into the ship since if you look very carefully again at the concept art you will notice that the cockpit area is actually project it out further than what you have it. I estimate that is roughly about an additional 6 m out from the front as opposed to where you currently show it. How I am able to determine that information is based on the fact that if you look at the cut out section it's actually drawn in a perspective isometric format and you can see the shaded area of the glass in the front of the ship and you have to remember that that glass is actually tapered at an angle. As far as the medical sections of the model I think some of the stuff that you were unsure as to what it is might either be storage lockers for medical equipment and/or possibly environmental suits. Furthermore, if you have been falling inside star citizen carefully you will remember that CIG has mentioned a few times about going with a hover gurney style bed as opposed to a wneel since there has been a collision issue occurring inside of ships.
my galaxy will only get used if im base building i have better ships for the other roles it can do... for refinery i have orion and endeavor for medical i will have endeavor or medivac for hauling i have a hull c and caterpillar for vehicle hanger i have the liberator. theres nothing the galaxy can do that other ships will do better but the 1 thing the galaxy is good for is building large and smaller bases and only pioneer is good for XL bases
So happy you chose to make another 3 videos ! I love the Galaxy, and the way you present it ! This ship will be the heart of my fleet, and by seing the numer of likes, i'm not the only one !
the outrageous amount of wasted space on the rear left/right side is absurd. Devs should make that area part of the ship, not a massive open frame of wasted volume
Did you think the rear doors could be have like Garage-doors… then you don’t have the problem you assumed with a solid 2 door solution… if the doors on rails they would simply follow a curve path on tracks… just something to consider as a animator in 3D studio it would’ve been my solution. Just to switch it up. Besides it would be killing 2 birds with one stone considering the Carrack needs curve sliding windows armor.
Seriously. I think those videos are terrible... Even if I remove a quarter of the conclusions and reasoning CIG will still disappoint compared to your work. (That's a compliment, just to be clear) :)
Begeisterung pur!!! I'm so exited about your work :D and you give me some hope that i will not regret my most expensive decision in SC.... About the Hangar-Doors: Mybe they wont slide one Part up, one down... Look at the Spirit... Maybe they slide one part left and right and divide the upper in two sections that top of each other and the lower may be three parts... Just an Idea :) The "useless" Room beside the Controll-Room could be an internal Elevator?
I am hoping they will realize soon that they actually need to make the ship bigger or improve it beyond original concept so that people like me that got the ship keep it for its original price range 😄
Do you think the Galaxy's medical module will include stretcher drones like the Apollos will? I already pledged to the Medivac, but if the Galaxy is usable solo (to a certain extent), I might want to upgrade to the Galaxy with Medic bay when it comes out since I can also swap it out for different modules whenever I feel like doing different stuff.

The rear hangar doors actually fold out and up/down from the image I remember. As in flat in relation to the floor and ceiling. They MAY partly or fully retract under the floor/ above the ceiling?
I’m glad you showed the Ursa in there! That will be awesome in the future! Wonderful work!
Wow. You are incredible. Thank you for these amazing videos!
Really impressed with your work .TY . Just an idea : If they removed the wall between the module area and the hanger area for the base building version of the ship we could make the large base units and lower them to the ground .
Looks really solid.
Galaxy seems pretty large for the “little” amount of beds actually
Agree, kilometres of corridors.
Keep up the great work. Lots of low IQ knuckle draggers in the comments - don't let them deter you. Would love to see the other modules!
my galaxy will only get used if im base building i have better ships for the other roles it can do... for refinery i have orion and endeavor for medical i will have endeavor or medivac for hauling i have a hull c and caterpillar for vehicle hanger i have the liberator. theres nothing the galaxy can do that other ships will do better but the 1 thing the galaxy is good for is building large and smaller bases and only pioneer is good for XL bases
Watching this video after the medical Ursa dropped! Please revisit this concept once again!
So happy you chose to make another 3 videos ! I love the Galaxy, and the way you present it ! This ship will be the heart of my fleet, and by seing the numer of likes, i'm not the only one !
honestly not convinced by the medical module, it seems overall like a bad concept to put that little "medical area" in a large ship like the Galaxy
the outrageous amount of wasted space on the rear left/right side is absurd. Devs should make that area part of the ship, not a massive open frame of wasted volume
The hangar doors could also swing open, like a normal hinged door. Or a bi-fold industrial door.
Does the galaxy also have a sick-bay for the crew or is it completely without medical facilities without the med module?
There is no medical facility besides the med module!
Fantastic work with this series 👏. Thank you very much and can’t wait for the other modules 😉
it would be feasible they would open outwards in 2 halves.
You should work for CIG and just build this for real! :)
i am the one who interesting in medical gameplay, ty for this work.
Suggest an explorer module storage one side med on the other.
I'd love to to see a similar video for the Odyssey
I really hope the increase the visual size of the engines to look similar to the arrastras.
The rear doors could open like the front on the caterpillar or like a garage door, sliding angled towards the seeling
Well done. This was awesome. Can't wait to see it ingame. DG360 sent me
Seriously. I think those videos are terrible... Even if I remove a quarter of the conclusions and reasoning CIG will still disappoint compared to your work.
(That's a compliment, just to be clear) :)
My first compliment including the word terrible, but thank you :)
Just an Idea :)
The "useless" Room beside the Controll-Room could be an internal Elevator?
So nah am großen Lift noch ein kleiner?
I am hoping they will realize soon that they actually need to make the ship bigger or improve it beyond original concept so that people like me that got the ship keep it for its original price range 😄
Kinda wondering how many Ursa's that life life can hold. It looks like it can carry 2 if you really pack em in
I feel like the handrail behind the lift is specifically there to limit the space to just one - but we will see.
you sound like youre sleeping when you speak and music is loud ..
I could see the rear hanger door hinged along the bottom to create additional landing area in space and at an angle to form a ramp planetside
I thought about it, but since we have not seen anything about drones, no prototypes at all I believe, I did not want to speculate too much.
Jesus Christ just hire this man maybe we can have the game within 10 years.
