I pilot link compatibility with solid 12 MSI G3? I have had the Ulterra IPilot link since 2017 which was then connected to a Core 899ci hd si combo. I installed a rocker switch on my pontoon dash to be able to switch from the transducer on the Ulterra to the transducer on the 899. Where does the iPilotlink cable connect? Where does the Ulterra transducer cable connect?
Hi. Have a couple of questions. I am hoping that you could help me understand and get answered. "Question #1" will the Minkota Terrova link to my Lowrance HDTI-2? "Question #2" If I need to purchase a Hummingbird and a new Minkota I-Pilot Link, while using the features connected, can you mark a way point and have the trolling motor go to that exact spot? And "Question #3" with the components that I currently have, is the way point feature achievable. I'm trying to find out if there's a system that would allow me to mark a brush pile, for example, with side scan, then have my trolling motor take me to the spot without having to search with down scan to get over the exact location. Thanks in advance for your help.
Awesome video, simply yet to the point! My Lowe Boat came with Powerdrive I-link GPS but not i-link. I learned after I bought my Helix 8 that I couldn't connect the two. I learned there is an adaptor kit to change the heads out but not for a PowerDriver. My unit is 24 volt 70 lbs thrust. Any thoughts what to do?
i-Pilot link is also required for use of advanced gps puck (heading sensor) which is the best feature Humminbird has ever came out with. The jog mode while in spot lock is my most essential feature. I don’t use itrack, I don’t follow any contours, I don’t save any spot locks, but I’m on those “+” and “-“ buttons constantly.
Any idea if they communicate with Lowrance fish finders? Based on your response to someone else, I'm guessing no; however, I'm hoping Johnson Outdoors is able to make this happen.
If your pedel has an anchor on it and the head says I-pilot then chances are it has spot lock. But you can test that without buying a remote and just use the pedal to attempt to activate spot lock. You should also have I believe a white gps puck somewhere that talks to the unit and tells it exactly where it's supposed to be within a few feet
Awesome little motor, pretty fast! I have it on a mariner 3 raft and she glides. After four years on the lake on a 55amp deep cycle battery I still had half a battery left
Thank you. I am having a very hard time updating the software on my Ultrex. It won't pair with my IPhone. Can I update the Ultrex with the IPilot Link remote?
Hello Rob, Really nice, short and precise video series you have made. I am researching to buy a trolling motor that will be mounted on the transom. Are there any trolling motors that can be mounted on the transom, and be either remote controlled or have an actual "steering" like attachment ? I am currently building a small boat, that I plan to use on electric only lakes. Please provide your recommendations. Thanks.
I-Pilot Link will only connect to a Humminbird. You would need either a MotorGuide with Pinpoint GPS or a Lowrance Ghost to connect to a Lowrance Unit.
Surely by now, they would make a blue tooth connection to the Humminbird system, rather than by an ethernet cable. I have the I-Pilot and the extra cable is what put me off the I-Pilot link system. Both remotes talk to their respective head unit via Bluetooth, the heading sensor is Bluetooth, Humminbird Helix has Bluetooth?
@@trollingmotorparts Might save on power using cables, as blue tooth eats power, just see on your cell phone when it's on. However, it's either stupid to not enable it or intentional to sell more cables.
Reason for the cable instead of just the bluetooth connection to the fish finder likely is better consistency with signals and amount of data constantly being sent also the size of the data at a time and Bluetooth just doesn't have the ability to support fast enough speeds id imagine. Kinda like comparing the data transfer speeds in your house if you had a router that used cellular signals and instead were using a fiber optic direct connection. Just my thoughts on the reason for the company not doing that.
@@mp5kfisher241 I don't know you can ask them that I just need a number so I can talk about buying a part , good luck with your disability and the discount
Yeah I have a 2017 model I-pilot Bt model and have yet to have remote issues. I have had to change out small parts here and there on the unit but typically the cost of the parts is less than shipping itself. 😂
Best summary I’ve seen yet
Awesome video! Best comparison explanation I have seen. Thanks
Thanks much for the straight up, no BS or hype explanation.. d:^)

I’m looking to upgrade my power drive If these are in stock. Along with a rebuild for my lower unit

I’m try to decide between the minn kota Terrova or motor guide xi5. It’s for a stratos 268v with original omc trolling motor. Thanks for an info!!
Does the iTracks fuction work without the Sonar? I'm fishing Garmin sonars an thinking about getting an 80lbs 24V Terrova with iTracks
good video, quite helpful man

Well dang!! Very informative, just realized I have the capability with the Link LoL 😂

so, would a 2015 terrova with i-pilot have spotlock? it has a foot pedal but no remote?
If it has I-Pilot, it will have spot lock.
You would need to have an I-Pilot remote to use the spot lock feature on a 2015 Terrova.

Can you use the ipilot link controller on a regular i pilot ultrex?
Thank you. I am having a very hard time updating the software on my Ultrex. It won't pair with my IPhone. Can I update the Ultrex with the IPilot Link remote?
I'm running garmin electronics. What motor besides garmin can I get most features from?
Will the Ultrex work with my garmin units?
HI there, I still have a question, how many wires coming out from the head unit of the motor to the control board in i-pilot link? Thank you.
So could you follow hard bottom structure at an offset?
Where can i find a non-Bluetooth remote for a terrova legacy?
If you upgrade terrova to ipilot link Do you get the new ipilot link remote??
You can’t upgrade. It’s either comes with i-Pilot link or it doesn’t
@@SouthFloridaFishingClub well, I don't think you know what your talking about. There are ipilot link kits for terrova.

Great video
Can you just swap into the ipilot link head ?
Can ipilot us2 be connected connect to a hummingbird bird graph?
Yes, you just need the US2 adapter that fits your Humminbird.
will an i-pilot link remote work with a regular ipilot terrova riptide?
Only Bluetooth trolling motors

I-Pilot Link will only connect to a Humminbird. You would need either a MotorGuide with Pinpoint GPS or a Lowrance Ghost to connect to a Lowrance Unit.

I pilot link remotes go bad a lot and you can't get a replacement. Check to see if replacements are available before you buy I pilot link.
I dont use any birds so thats a no fly for me.
Just remember that you'll be dropping $200 every couple years on remotes because they're junk. They're never in stock because so many break.
