My head-cannon is that Douglas happens to be the Dragonborn's doppelganger, so people keep confusing Douglas for a legendary hero and he's like "Guys, I ONLY cut wood. Well, and that one guy in Whiterun... but it was self defense!"
Well, I think that was the straw that broke the camel's back. Fists is one thing after an insult, but a knife and attempted murder, you did what you had to to defend yourself.
Douglas has certainly crossed a line now. Robbing the dead was already bad enough, but this... Self-defense or not, killing a man is something he can never come back from. Now he has a choice to make. Will he try and set things right, trying to redeem himself somehow for the rest of his life? Or will he continue to justify his actions and continue even deeper into the darkness?
The guard probably thought that fellow was an insufferable lout and is glad that he's gone. He walked towards the body, changed direction to look at you, then walked right on by. Clearly he unofficially approves.
Man I wish this was a completed series, I've gotten so invested in Douglas Blackthorn's journey over the past 2 days and I'm galvanized for the next installation
Looking at this from an outsider's perspective, Douglas seems like a hermit with temper problems that channels his rage into woodcutting but is still a sociopath at heart.
You're a lumberjack, and you're okay You sleep all night and you work all day You cut down trees, you skip and jump you like to press wild flowers you put on women's clothing And hang around in bars
I like to think that at first Sigurd saw you on his chopping block, calmly accepted it and went to the one by the Bannered Mare. But after hours of hearing the shopkeepers say the same thing over and over again he couldn't take it anymore and went back to his and pushed you out of it. And then you pushed him out of it and called his mother a horker and he had enough. But damn, i didn't expect him to pull out the shiv.
The tale of Douglas ultimately seems like s cautionary one - how the myth of the "self-made, rags-to-riches" man ultimately corrupts even the most well-intentioned people. Starting with nothing, Douglas just wants to work hard and earn his place, but ultimately he can't avoid compromising on his morals... One has to wonder, would the man he was when he first arrived in Riverwood even recognize the man he is now?
I am so happy I found this series now that several episodes are out. This is extremely entertaining, truly remarkable work, editing and storytelling, my friend. I do hope Douglas can prosper. He definitely wasn't at fault for that man's inexplicable reaction, and did what he had to survive.
You have a really lovely voice and a great way of speaking. It's like a constant stream of thought without internet culture infecting it. very poetic and nice to listen to :)
Watched the first woodcutter episode yesterday and now have watched all three. Absolutely hooked and the way you speak is soothing and great narration as to what you're doing. I also love how Douglas is such an introvert he couldn't handle the big city without murdering someone lol so skyrimesque.
Its crazy to think that Brenuin just goes around begging while you just pick up an axe and start chopping for hours to sell it to the Bannered Mare. He could easily earn enough to buy himself some decent clothes. Also side note: you could cut next to the market and lower the volume of voices to role play zoning out the noise
Sigurd couldn't just let Douglas cut wood for a while in peace. I think the guard didn't feel like filling out the report and left to act like he wasn't there lol.
Dude I found ur channel from the first vid in this series yesterday and watched the second one as well. This idea for a character is so funny to me and it's a nice chill watch too. Hope you keep it going love how into character you get 👍
Thanks for your videos, have been experiencing a lot of rough things in past couple days, your videos help me cope with anxiety, relax, and feel comfortable.
I gotta say, the kill was self defense but Douglas is still at fault a bit. He antagonized Sigurd and thus prompted fight. It should be a lighter sentence but but should come back on Douglas somehow
Loving this series a lot I wanted to ask, do you have any mod list? I can see what you poseted in describtion, but do you have some other list for other mods you use?
Loved the episode. When you said you were going to Whiterun, I was worried about trouble with Sigurd, because he does monopolize that chopping block. I didn’t expect what we got though. I agree with you that Douglas should stay away from Whiterun hold for a long time. I would like to remind you that if you need another cash injection for the mill in the future, you can go work at half-moon mill in Falkreath hold. Also, you really need a waterskin, and because Whiterun and Riverwood are not safe for you, while Falkreath I think lacks a general store, you might need to go to Markarth or Riften for it. Or I guess you could maybe make one on your own. Anyway, I’m kind of rambling but I also want to say I love this series, and I also have been going through a couple of your old series after discovering your channel a couple days ago and I’m loving everything I see. Keep up the great work.
Another great episode, with a very unexpected turn of events lol, but yea it was very justified & definitely self defense so don't feel so bad, lol, hope to see more soon 🙂.
My head-cannon is that Douglas happens to be the Dragonborn's doppelganger, so people keep confusing Douglas for a legendary hero and he's like "Guys, I ONLY cut wood. Well, and that one guy in Whiterun... but it was self defense!"
“‘Well and that one guy in white run’” goes crazy 😂
Brought that axe down on him like he brings it down on firewood
Life of Douglas
Well, I think that was the straw that broke the camel's back. Fists is one thing after an insult, but a knife and attempted murder, you did what you had to to defend yourself.
Sigurd learned the meaning of the age old Nordic saying "Talk shit, get split"
Douglas has certainly crossed a line now. Robbing the dead was already bad enough, but this... Self-defense or not, killing a man is something he can never come back from.
Now he has a choice to make.
Will he try and set things right, trying to redeem himself somehow for the rest of his life?

With the way the town responded to the murder, you couldn't be blamed for thinking it was Nazim who was killed.
I think Douglas needs to wear gloves. That axe is going to give him the worst blisters.
He’s got enough callouses that he doesn’t blister, lol
The guard probably thought that fellow was an insufferable lout and is glad that he's gone. He walked towards the body, changed direction to look at you, then walked right on by. Clearly he unofficially approves.
“One crack of my axe I split him like a log” is crazy 😂
16:54 the humble “good guy”, there’s a reason he works in the woods 😂
Man I wish this was a completed series, I've gotten so invested in Douglas Blackthorn's journey over the past 2 days and I'm galvanized for the next installation
I love that Douglas gave a coin to the begger as he ran out of town. Needed to do a good deed to help take some weight off his mind lol
Looking at this from an outsider's perspective, Douglas seems like a hermit with temper problems that channels his rage into woodcutting but is still a sociopath at heart.
no ? wtf he never lost temper nor do i think you know what a sociopath even is so be quit
@@goodmusic4673Ay man I think they have a point, how about you read a book and shut up yourself
@@goodmusic4673 things getting heated in the douglas fandom
You're a lumberjack, and you're okay

And hang around in bars
It's been years of peace but know that song is once again stuck in my head... thanks.
dude you called his mom a horker he couldn't take that.
"Douglas Borden took an axe,
Gave poor Sigurd one big whack" 😅
"When he realized what he had done, he ran like hell to Riverrun."
"Even though in Riverwood,
the folk didn't get how he could,
end Sigurd's life with one chop,
and leave the town in shock nonstop."
You know, this episode certainly escalated things a tad. Poor Sigurd. Poor Douglas. What a freakin' day.
You need to donate that 1000-something septims to shrine of Arkay, since it belonged to the dead. You wouldn't want a curse to befell you.
I like to think that at first Sigurd saw you on his chopping block, calmly accepted it and went to the one by the Bannered Mare. I had no choice :(
So in the end, it was the shopkeepers that killed Sigurd
@@blackgemstone801 It's always the damn shopkeepers. No wonder someone hired the Dark Brotherhood to kill one of them.
I love thess woodcutter videos no dragons no satanic talking dogs and no bounty hunters
Maybe Douglas can redeem the murder by murdering the bandits.
Please give Douglas a family in the end, if its possible for them to move to the mill. He seems like a good hard working father
I mean, he did kill a guy over a chopping block
@@someonesilence3731 if he is that protective of his chopping block, imagine what he'd do for his wife and kids!
It's like that movie, "So I Married an Axe Murderer"😂
@@towardshidayat With protectiveness like that, his bloodline will end only one step below him.
he insulted the dude over a chopping block sure but killing him was def self defense. bro pulled a blade over some words 🤣
Now every time poor Douglas hears Sven or Faendal’s voice he’ll think of Seigard 😂
sweet more woodcutter lore

Love to see a life as a blacksmith series
I literally in real life made a " 😲😨😳" set of faces when Hulda said 100 gold for a room
The axe slinging wood gatherer has returned ❤
I hope this wood cutter has a long life
I am so happy I found this series now that several episodes are out. This is extremely entertaining, truly remarkable work, editing and storytelling, my friend. I do hope Douglas can prosper. He definitely wasn't at fault for that man's inexplicable reaction, and did what he had to survive.
There's no reason I should be, but I am absolutely hooked on this. #1 series on TH-cam for me atm
Looks like you need the realistic needs hunterborn patch so your meals fill you
the front legs aren't really worth eating on a rabbit. It's the haunches that have the most meat
I never thought i would be this invested in a humble woodcutter from Skyrim.
Well done, you got me.
15:08 well that escalated quickly😂
You have a really lovely voice and a great way of speaking. It's like a constant stream of thought without internet culture infecting it. very poetic and nice to listen to :)
The drama and dark twist I was not expecting! Nice series I'm enjoying it :)

Felt like forever since the previous episode, Im hooked at this whole idea, such a nice change of pace to the fast paced content these days.
Sigurd couldn't just let Douglas cut wood for a while in peace. I think the guard didn't feel like filling out the report and left to act like he wasn't there lol.
You can use the wells like the one in whiterun to refill your empty bottles and water skins with spring water

All of JW's walkthroughs are as engaging as this one.
@bigduginc haha I'll have to give em a watch
First Douglas steals from corpses now he kills a man. This series looks like an exercise in how long Douglas can stay *just* a woodcutter.
wow! chopping wood in the town escalated quickly!!
Having a loyal dog as a companion throughout your journey to success sounds pretty cool
I'm loving this so far.
love the videos, keep it up!
One thing I've never realized is that the bannered mare has only a SINGLE room to rent out...
Oh I can’t wait to see this story go further 🎉🎉
This was just the channel I needed.
Can't believe I haven't stumbled across you all these years.
Power gamers of the world, this is why roleplay is so awesome.
you killed Sigurd ! Bastard !
j/k funny as hell
Man, I need more of this series 😂 I can’t wait! I might just start my own play through just to get my fix of this content 😂
Finally you're back ive been watching your other series for the past 2 weeks the lumberjack series is what got me onto you good to see you back
As long as you don't initiate violence, you don't get a bounty.
Just found this series today and so happy to discover that latest episode had only just dropped. One new happy subscriber here.
Totes justified self-defense. However... it's a fun betting game to see how long a Skyrim playthrough takes before it devolves!🤭🤭
Yep normally happens pretty quick with me
Thanks for your videos, have been experiencing a lot of rough things in past couple days, your videos help me cope with anxiety, relax, and feel comfortable.
Who would have thought I’d enjoy 3 episodes of a guy cutting wood??
Not me, but I did! 😀😀😀😀
That second wolf in the beginning definitely made me slight jump 🤣
I gotta say, the kill was self defense but Douglas is still at fault a bit. He antagonized Sigurd and thus prompted fight. It should be a lighter sentence but but should come back on Douglas somehow
16:21 - I can't believe that Nazeem came out of nowhere and killed Sigurd like that.
"Alright guy you'll have to get off my freaking nuts! Get away!" Even nice guys have their breaking point it seems lmao 😂😂
Awesome!! So ready for more Douglas!!! ❤❤
Loving this series a lot
I wanted to ask, do you have any mod list? I can see what you poseted in describtion, but do you have some other list for other mods you use?
I've been waiting for this! I love these videos
Faendal IS a bit obsessed with Sven. If only that lady would step out of the picture so he could be with his one true love.
All Sigurd wanted to do was chop some wood😂, then you insult him and absolutely demolished him. 10/10 content
"I should never have left Riverwood..." LOL
First he steals from a dead body, now he’s killing people for a chopping block. What’s next? 😂
This. This is the kind of immersion I love about this game.
16:10 for years of wood blocking. That was beyond justified. It was divinely meant to be. I hope Tsun slays him just as you have in Sovngarde.
16:06 GET CRACKED ON lmao
16:28 his lifeless corpse twitching lmao

Ah yes my friend welcome back I've been watching so many of your videos whilst waiting for this new one :)
Another great episode, with a very unexpected turn of events lol, but yea it was very justified & definitely self defense so don't feel so bad, lol, hope to see more soon 🙂.
Ah heck yeah, I was excited for this one!
Brilliant episode😂 You know, Sigurd, he was obviously high on skooma, and trying to pick a fight by gluing on to Douglas. Got it coming!
been looking forward to this!
When you finish this series you should do one as either a chef or a miner
I’ve been checking every day for this video and I’m so glad it’s here!

3:48 the wolf jumpscare was real 😂
This shit is so good. Look forward to the next episode
Been looking forward to this episode sm
No one puts Douglas in a self defense type situation
Still loving it man, keep it up!
He works at the store delivering wood to all the houses and stores so that's why he did what he did
Bro keep on going i love to listen to your videos when playing Skyrim you have good ideas for videos 😄
Yay!!! Another video!!!❤❤❤
Idk if a game can ever rival Skyrim
Ahh, another video thet I waited so long for
