Good update. Saw another video of a sailor who had similar problems with where he anchored in Chub Cay. Nice to see Kate doing a little video for a change. Keep livin' the dream....

Sailed that area in 1998. Oh yes the water is insane. Open a coconut from the top core, you can even do it with a sharp stick.

Didn't make it to Chubb on our last trip to the Bahamas 2014/15. But were there 7 years ago, and it was exactly the same. No one there, hardly, pool empty. We climbed the same coconut tree. You'll find many old half developed sites in the Bahamas. Difficult to sustain them, when the only way customers can get there is by boat or plane.

Have you considered a Single Side Band radio and a radio modem so you can get weather via laptop anywhere in the world? Through sail Mail you can send and get txt email as well.
(you do have to get a license from the fcc for the boat and a operator license for yourself. I don't know about the coast of the boat but the operator is 50 bucks for 10 years)

The coconut had the husk on it you have to cut that away to get to the shell. You need an axe or machete to cut away the husk. After you get to the shell there will be three round spots on the pointy end of the shell. The slightly larger one will be easy to pierce then you can drink the water. The shell can be busted open to get to the meat which can be dried and ground for flour.

Great video guys, I have been watching from the beginning. You do need to see if there is something you can do about the wind noise, perhaps a piece of foam or sponge over the microphone. Speaking of sponges, what you found on the beach there was actually an animal called a sponge. They grow so big you could almost climb inside one. If you end up in Grand Cayman, let me know and I will give you the insiders scoop on where to go and how to get the best deals.

Great videos. Really enjoy them. You have mentioned inability to get up to date weather. I was going to make a suggestion : buy a good shortwave radio with ssb and get the weather fax app for your phones or laptop. But, I see from an earlier comment you mention ssb so I am guessing you figured that out.

Another WICKED good video. I think a) the coconut has to be more 'brown' to be ready to open; b) pierce an eye (the coconuts) first to drain the milk; c) then hack it open with a machete (or large strong kitchen knife). Thoroughly enjoy your videos.
