This content never gets old. You guys were my first ‘sailing vlog’ subscription years ago and I still come back and watch your vids. Your enthusiasm at arriving is infectious, even in reruns. Lol. Hope you are both well and congrats Wes on Yamaha Cert!
Glad to see you wearing life jackets - there are so many over confident people on some other sailing channels (Z...) so dismissive of the importance of putting on life jackets and staying safe, no matter what the chances of an accident occurring. Setting a good example to others you two. You're a really lovely couple.
Great Video...as others have mentioned It's nicve to see you two with Big Happy Smiles of Joy. Good job of planing your crossing to arrive before dark...aaand Lola look happy too....:)
Congratulations on your boat choice!! Catalina has made so many boats They worked it out By 1993...they are user friendly , comfortable, Yanmar..YEA!!!!
Congrats! Just watched a great vlog with you guys and Ben, Tambi and Molly. Good times but pretty sure Ben is certifiable and Tambi and Molly are being held against their wishes. Do what you can for them and have a great time!
Great video! I crossed over to West End on Jan. 8th, so was a little over a month ahead of you guys. Sorry we never crossed paths in the Bahamas, but look forward to sharing an anchorage at some point in the future!
Great super video! Thanks for mentioning the timeline, as I'm planning the same route in the not so distant future though I plan on crossing the gulfstream starting a bit further south than Miami, so the timeline is a good baseline. Good use of technology to make others aware of your position, and kudos on the PFDs and the dog too. Stay safe and fair winds!
Good on proper Blue Water sailing. On long trips life lines connected to the center of the boat is good. So you don't wake up for your shift and find no one else aboard. A freak wave can wash you overboard and railing in a few seconds. Your dog looks real cute in his blue water get up.
Another successful crossing, nice job! Don't know what it is but "Whisper" seems to be a popular name for a sailboat. That was the name of the Morgan 32 we had for about 5 years back in the early 2000s.
The simple way to break down the weather on the Gulf Stream is if (going from US to Bahamas) on starboard tack, everything is going to be fine. If you are on port tack, it’s going to be rough!
Nice video! Looking forward to seeing your Bahama adventures. I'll be taking notes on all the cool spots you stop. Why? So I know where to go when I get my boat. Just need to sell this home first.
Is your dog a Yorkie? Mostly they are, she looks smaller than my Silky. Lola is hard a work nannying you two. Love keeping up with your trips. I watched you some years back and I am glad you two are such veteran cruisers now. I am a cruiser too, only I use a Piper Cherokee 140 built in 1971. BTW U have been subscribed for years now, but I have NEVER been notified of one of your new videos. I have to go looking for your two!
Nice! Was wondering if you were heading there. We just bought a Pontoon we are fixing up, can't wait to get on the water. I know it's no sail boat, but I like to call it a poor mans catamaran. :D
Nice video. Looks like you had a great calm crossover. One of the special things about your sailing channel is that it’s not all about whose wife or girlfriend is wearing the smallest bikini. Most of the rest seem to be a competition to get more viewers. Your content is the way it should be.
Thank for this episode. My wife and I will be doing the same trip in Late January of 2020. Right now we are in West Palm Beach and planning on traveling back down to Miami then cross from there. Question. Did you aim slightly to the south of Bimini Island or just go straight across. How much northerly did the Gulf Stream push you ?
Congrats! BTW,. I have been looking for insurance coverage to go to the Bahamas, which company did you opt for? My present company, Progressive, would cover me in Bimini, for 30-days, but not the rest of the Bahamas.
@@ChrisAshtear Chris, thanks for the reply. I do not recall the year of your boat, however, FYI, the BoatUS (Geico) policy provides that for each year your boat is older than 20 years, your coverage for damage is dropping 10% for each such year to the point of covering only 20% of any partial loss (less deductible). Any agreed upon value is only for total loss.🧐
Wow, I have been looking at the old videos when her hair was much shorter. I love the longer hair. Why don’t you buy her one of those comfortable, inflatable PDFs?
Good day when will u be back in BIMINI am from there and needed a ride to fl my wife lives there and wanted to be with her for the Christmas 🎄.... desprate need get back asap plz God bless

Nice scenes. Your first solar panel will be the most valuable. I'd have a CB radio on board. Thanks for the Spot mark 3 tip.
I like how Kate steers from her perch.
Great crossing vid, amigos. :)
Ooooooooh, getting into the really good stuff now!
We getting there!
Nice sailing. Love the smiles. Time to relax. Looking forward to the next episode.

You made it!! So happy for you, love seeing Kate so happy and peaceful, beautiful
Looking forward to seeing more of the Bahamas. Thanks for taking us along.
Glad you guys made it back. So many hurdles to surpass after the old boat mess.
Very nice drama free crossing, let the games begin! My Catalina 27 is very jealous as am I !
Excellent mates! Looks like it was a uneventful voyage across the Gulf Stream to Bimini! Very beautiful scenery!
Finally some sail time. Good on you mate. Do good, be safe.
So glad to see you wearing PFD's!
Agreed

Another great video for y'all.. Looked like a fun sail.. And you're right, just being out on the water is a great time.. flk k
Beautiful footage w/the cruise ships
Great vid guys. I use my SPOT the same way, to let a few friends know when we leave and arrive at each leg of a longer trip.
SPOT trackers are great; I use mine on snowmobiling trips.
Awesome!! Cant wait for the upcoming videos!
Great video glad you made it safely. Look forward to more videos. Safe Sailing
Looks like you took ALOT of good precautions! Great videos👍🐶

Congratulations on a safe crossing.
Thank you!

Long time coming for y'all.

Good crossing.
Yay a new video from my favourit3 motoring couple
Love the story in your vedios thank for sharing and yes I did to
Thank you Frank, we appreciate you!
Was having lunch today at the Tipsy Seagull in Treasure Cay Abaco. I saw your Wicked Salty logo you must have drawn at the Bar. Cheers!!
Amazing video. Loved it.
Thank you! :)
So jealous! If you stop by fox town they have some great burgers(and the one dude owns the entire 'town').
Cant wait to go back
Another great video,
A 14 hour crossing where you can wear a t-shirt instead of a parka is a win-win!!!
It was definitely what we like!
Congratulations!
Still the coolest sailing channel, IMO.
Where is the conch shell horn at sunset??
:-(
Good job, Wes, Kate, Lola, & succulents!!!
Have some Kaliks.

Good on you guys.
Not a bad day for a crossing.
Awesome..😄
Great videos, I Hava a doubts, the Catalina 30 has an autopilot? Can adapt it if doesn't have it?
GREAT!!!
Wow. You had some flat conditions for sure on your crossing.
cool .

Chaotic sailboat, what a mess
Yay!
Great post, fun sail...could be the 50yr Apollo 11 annie? :)
Fabulous
What year is your Catalina and how does she sail on the Gulf Stream
Getting saltier ;)
Geeze take the reef out of the mainsail and turn that engine off
You should list some of the music you use. It is very nice.
2nd....Nice trip.
it was a good crossing! Thank you
Would the two of you consider doing a pros and cons of your C30, now that you have time sailing it?
C30 Pro: None
Con: It's a POS C30
Congrats! BTW,. I have been looking for insurance coverage to go to the Bahamas, which company did you opt for? My present company, Progressive, would cover me in Bimini, for 30-days, but not the rest of the Bahamas.
Boat us insurance covered me for the bahamas for a bit extra.

I almost got a spot but saw a side by side comparison of garmin explore+ and the garmin is by far better
Curious why you had a reefed main in such light air.
Cause he dont know what he's doing.
Wow, I have been looking at the old videos when her hair was much shorter. I love the longer hair. Why don’t you buy her one of those comfortable, inflatable PDFs?
You forgot to say Land Ahoy!
Buys sailboat. Motors everywhere.
How come you had a reef in the main in light air?
first
That's cheating
@@markpowell1031 :D
@@WickedSalty funny.
You should ask S/V Seawolf why they haven’t put out any vids in months
Wes, give up on the flavor-saver dude. It ain't happenin' ;-) lol
question how does the salt air effect the non marine electronics
everything is prone to rust :/
Good day when will u be back in BIMINI am from there and needed a ride to fl my wife lives there and wanted to be with her for the Christmas 🎄.... desprate need get back asap plz God bless
Just as long as you don't forget the plug. Ha ha. Do sailboats have plugs?
shore power plug, through hole plug, please subscribe to channel plug
Where are you??
Was that celestial object Venus or the Moon?
the moon!
OK, so what the deal with Seawolf? Is Dom still making videos or not?
I am looking at two boats to buy a 1990 Catalina 30 and a 31-foot person
Show all the food& stuff u got at the store next time. Some of us love those what to buy to go type videos!
