I REALLY like it! The soft housing will protect it from drops. I dropped my last meter on tile and it garbled the led display. This outer cover also lets you wrap the probe wires around while it holds the coiled wires snuggly.

That looks exactly like the Uni-T UT133b rebranded as Cent-Tech. Looks the same on the outside and the inside and the board actually says 133B towards the middle. The UniT runs about $25US and this as Darren said was $19.99 US in the store. Not bad!

I am impressed with the amount of input protection that meter has. I've never seen that in a low end meter before. You usually have to pay a lot more for that kind of thing.
True enough, Fred.. I too was expecting minimal input protection aa well.. this CHEAP-O surprised in a good way 👍

Harbor Freight has certainly upped the game by adding those PTCs and MOVs. The Uni-T version of the meter simply can’t compare in that regard.

Not a pad little meter for the price, looked like there were isolation slots around the fuses and PTCs as well. Probably okay for home use.
Teardown was a surprise for me to say the least.. 😊
I knew it looked somehow familiar, until you opened it. And there you have it - 133B V7. For your basic home repairs, it'll do just fine. If you can get over the 15 sec backlight, that is. 👍

You can record anywhere you want. People are brain dead, everyone has a phone with a camera on them. It's not like you're recording a special fusion accelerator. LOL

They spent their budget on input protection and got nothing left for REL on resistance, proper backlight (can't think how a timed backlight could be cheaper than not) and the capacitance range. Quite the quality otherwise, their cordless power tools are even competing with the name brands! If they can offer an autoranging meter it would be even better. The winner will enjoy that OWON!

We have a Harbor Freight in town. It's nice. I think I checked out the meters. It was underwhelming.
Sounds like it's a hit n miss experience for many.. I think when you hit though, it's like finding gold ✨️
@@KeepOnTesting I'll go back. Harbour Freight has quite a bit. It's a new store at Pony Village. We actually still have a mall on life support . Farr's True Value has a big selection of Gardener Bender multimeters and some nice analog. That's where you go around here.

The test leads are also very capable, I measure 21 milliohms each. They are very pliable and yet sturdy.

Is this for only regular batteries? Not car battery?
Battery check only works for AA/9V . You can still check your standard 12V car battery using the DC VOLTS set to 60.
