I know the sound gets a bit choppy and is probably too quiet, and the cuts aren't pristine but it was the quickest, least stressy way of ripping. Enjoy!

I consider myself an observant bloke, a MASSIVE Smiths fan and a fairly keen audience member of the BBC's natural history programmes, but THIS had somehow eluded me...this spot Sir. Then again, is it really so strange...?

I liked these but had no idea they were song titles, I just thought he had a poetic way with words! :) I always smiled when he said something unusual/funny.

I write film reviews for a local website and I have to put in some kind of quirky sub-title with each film, so I try as often as I can to just put in a Smiths/Morrissey song title
Holy crap he looks good for his age, I had assumed he was much younger than 49!
How long will it be before the show's producers latch on to what Chris has been doing, eventually getting into a panic before telling him:
"That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore"
At which point Chris would ask them if they wanted him to stop at this very moment - once they've replied, Chris could then go to conclude:
"How Soon Is Now?"

I can't say that the Smiths references mean anything to me but that aside Chris is a fantastic presenter and he doesn't deserve the criticism he receives.

But whatever happened to the Nutkins bloke (who wasn't actually a squirrel, despite the name). I've seen lots of people shoe-horning in Smiths quotes into any discourse they can find, but CP's effort here is surely deserving of a medal. Although he may have to stretch out and wait. *groan*

I just wish there was a few more seconds on the end of each clip as I was enjoying Kate Humble trying not to corpse. She knew what he was doing.

Packham would probably demand a scientific explanation for the presenters' chemistry but Humble sensibly concludes it is because all 3 are proper friends. Both Packham and Hughes-Games are coming to her husband's 50th birthday party in a few weeks. "We are genuinely mates. We hang out, we talk, we send each other rude texts," she says. "When the programme is very spontaneous it helps when you know what sparks each other off. It's not to say we don't disagree or argue but that's what mates do."

Was anyone hedging their bets when he kicked off last Autumn's series under an umbrella with " Happy when it Rains"? I was preparing myself for a slew of Garbage (the band's) songs rather than JMC.

I love the Smiths, and know every title reference here. But, yes, it's annoying and inappropriate. It makes you not pay attention to to the what is being said, just keep waiting for the next reference.

chris i thought was alright being that he likes animals etc but he seems to pick and choose which animals should live and ones he doesnt care about dieing and thats wrong in my book.

hopefully next years presenter will remember that people have tuned in to watch a nature show not Top of The Pops
Basically these programs are informative but deadly boring to do. How interested can you be in two birds in a nest so his mind is obviously more focused on the Smiths.
