Ah, yeah, I remember this one. It seems like easymode at first, where even a bunch of unstable kids somehow survived. But it is later revealed that the bacteria is airborne and only a few people are immune. So you can't survive it unless you win the RNG. And even those that are initially immune can get infected later for seemingly no reason.
I’m not an expert on this field, feel free to correct me, I just like zombies related media and had friends on the field and research a lot about bacteria and viruses during the pandemic. So basically, that lack of immunity could be explained by 2 reasons, and even both together: Bacterial Load and Mutation. Bacterial Load: Your body could fight off an initial small load of infection but succumb to a larger one, let me explain, vaccines usually works by injecting a small and weak version of a disease to teach your body how to defend against it, you body basically creates trained soldier (antibodies) to effectively attack them, some people can do this naturally, so they had a natural immunity, but they could still get overwhelm when the “attack” is too much, like a big load of a disease, on this case getting bite by an infected person, the infection load is very different that an airborne attack. Mutation: Diseases can mutate, specially in contact with different host, the more host it gets the more chances it gets to mutate, change and even become stronger, this is a real concern with bacteria and their antibiotics resistance, so you can be immune to the original strain, but it can change enough that your antibodies doesn´t recognize it or it is too strong to fight it, so you still succumb to it. This is of course an overly simplification. So, you can be naturally immune to a disease in the original outbreak, but still become infected later on if you don´t take precautions.
@alastor8091 yeah I think it's something like that... I remember reading about an outbreak hundreds of years ago and this special river was the cure... now the river is used for the schools water or... something... I may be getting it mixed up w something else!
The anime ends at volume 5 (of 12) of the manga. There was unfortunately never a sequel to the anime adaptation to cover the rest of the story. If anyone here enjoyed the anime, I strongly suggest giving the manga a try. There was also a live action movie adaptation, which was... okay. I think what really makes School-Live enjoyable is the mixture of cheerful and downright funny moments (more so in the manga), intertwined with scary, distressing and heartwrenching moments. The movie is too short to pull that rollercoaster of emotions as well as the manga or anime did. Interestingly, the parent channel of How To Beat Anime, called How To Beat, covered the live action movie some time ago if you're curious.
@@le7633 I completely forgot about it until you mentioned it! It was a good read as well, after the main series had ended. Thanks for reminding me of it. Me, who knows that the school is a high school and that Yuki is like 18 or so along with the other girls, except Miki, who's a first year: *drinking an Angry Orchard*
By the way, the dog is pretty much anime-original and is actually a massive plot hole, since it shouldn't be alive to begin with. Neither should the cure have worked at all on it, since it's just vitamins, and the cure is actually something else entirely, which is why they are all alive to begin with.
@@IAmHavok It's not exactly a cure but more a treatment for ongoing infection, full zombies are too far gone. Sparing the details, over a long period of time, information gathering, and help from a very important character down the line, they discover that a marsh, along with some other notable water resources (one of which was used in the school's water reservoir, which is why they have pseudo immunity), contained an antibacterial agent that helped neutralize ongoing infection. Only the 3 girls and megumi survived since the emergency water filter is weaker than the usual one, allowing said agent to enter the tap water they drank.
In reality someone like Yuki is a weight during a zombie apocalypse tbh. Not only is she a danger 2 herself, she can drag someone else with her too. Like that little girl in the walking dead
Surprisingly enough, she was the one with the best survival instinct out of the initial group. Despite being delusional, her delusions always led her to the safest places. Yuuri had the worst one. Kurumi and Miki seemed fine, but they also both screwed up by freezing up at the worst moment, something that Yuki avoided.
One of my favourite psychological anime. Also believe it or not, Yuki is actually 18! A good piece of evidence of this is when they're writing the letters about what they want to do after school.
absolutely check it out! the biggest part is the plot twists and its a shame you can't watch it blind because the first episode twist is crazy but i still recommend it
i'd just try to fully secure set rooms that we currently need and try to outwait 2 months as rotten flesh especially if it's moving to take energy the zombie would fully decompose within 60 days. Assuming that everyone who was bitten was bitten in the first week-two weeks of them being in the school and hiding out. I'd ration supplies not make risks and find some sustainable way for food. No more everyone gets nice looking anime meals. More like we take the necessary nutritional ingredients of the meals and ration them only 1-2 meals a day sunup and sundown. nearing the end of the 60-80 day period we would start eating fully meals preparing diesel which is pretty easy to make and it will be likely the school has those supplies then as we leave during night we conduct reconnaissance and travel through cover eventually making it to a vehicle and getting somewhere out of the city.
