@@thadisturbedone1606 I kinda just realized that in many of the classic zombie series we know of, like much of Romero's zombie movies, the Resident Evil games (not the movies), and many others, the zombies are not actually a world-ending threat, and/or the initial large 'batch' of them are instead created using vectors other than bites or physical body-to-body contact of any kind. _Night of the Living Dead:_ The original had something like radiation from a crashed satellite rezzing corpses and spreading from there in a rural community. Both it and the remake end with the locals dealing with the problem effectively using guns. _Return of the Living Dead:_ Had an airborne initial vector and zombies that were even more tanky than usual, to the point where headshots were not a reliable bet at all. _Resident Evil:_ Escaped experiments in a remote mansion, and lab leak taking down Racoon City. Deliberate bio-terror in most other games using vectors other than zombies for the initial batch again. In the Racoon City case, there were much worse than regular zombies on the loose, like Lickers and Tyrant variants, G-virus spawn, etc. You can buy how things would spiral out of control. Even the (old) movies had powerful mutants and zombie variants in addition to the regular zeds, despite the global apocalypse, which was a bit harder to buy. _28 Days Later:_ The zombies are actually fast and deadly, and perhaps even possessed of some basic cunning? IIRC. _The Walking Dead:_ IIRC, I could be wrong here, but the games (which I assume work off the same rules as the comic and show), explicitly mentioned that “you turn no matter how you die”. Implying an asymptomatic and likely airborne virus, which infects but does not kill. Zombie bites seem to contain 'venom' that causes regular death and then resurrects, but regular death also triggers it. That, and I'm not sure if recently turned zeds were faster or something. This one is a bit sketchier than the others, though. Just rambling, because the more I think about, the more I realize a lot of the 'classics' (L4D, TLOU, NMRIH included) actually had good explanations whenever a global apocalypse was involved, or never involved one to begin with. Makes me appreciate them more.
Doesn't society smell terrible due to all the corpses walking around? Also since corpses are just "steampunk robots" in this setting, where are the normal poor who protest their jobs being stolen by AI?
They've already tolerated the massive stench of manure from horses, industrial smog, and human feces in the water. What's a bit more? In real life, there also was the Luddite movement that rose against industrialization but eventually lost.
My main issue would be having a bunch of reanimated corpses walking around carrying disease. Imagine dying from tuberculosis only to be reanimated with that bacterium and probably a whole host of other ones still in your system. You would be some kind of supervector.
A Dystopian World where instead of fresh bodied and abled living humans could work, the dead are used to do their biddings. Never letting them lay to rest forever...
actually the main char is clearly capable of recreating the tech... because well the story seems to be based partially in frankenstein by marry shelly. and in the book victor frankenstein ends his time at the university without any degree afer making his creature.
i watched this movie, and watson and friday have crazy homoerotic tension???? i dont even think it was intentional as it seems hadaly was meant to be the love interest LMAO. dude was ready to destroy the entire world just to hear his friend's voice again
Sherlock does actually show up in the epilogue and Watson is working with him now (also based on the hair he does seem related to M, implying M might have been Mycroft) also Friday seems to have been fully resurrected and Hadly became Irene (meaning the love triangle gets even weirder).
This reminds me a lot of 'Lies of P'. Artificial bodies and souls. Weird blue crystals. Victorian setting. There's probably more but thats what ive got so far.
26:06 yes but be more historical accurate like they were in America before Certainly an officer cavalry or at least a speedshooting or sharp shoter sheriff Will volunteer to join them on this journey to save the world
Man...this protagonist...is really stupid and unlikable. The setting looks cool and has a neat premise, but the idiocy and lack of concern for the world's survival as a whole from the main cast ruins it for me.
Servitors is half alive bro you comparing a dead corpse with a guy who still remember his mother and the procedure he went through because some toaster fucker
saying something shouldn't be done because it can be used as a weapon is inherently stupid. Think about Nuclear power, the cleanest power source we have today, uses 97% recyclable material as fuel, water or salt, cement and steel. No rare metals, no slave labor etc. would you have that not developed because of its connections to nuclear bombs? Did you know that a nuclear bomb has been used to close an undersea broken oil well in the past saving tons of wildlife from the effects of an oceanic oil drilling accident? Or that it could potentially be a major asset in future terraforming? There is no evil or destructive technology just evil and destructive people.
Oh shit we speed ran the Servitors tech tree
I feel like this is something the Fabricator General would do when the old man drags them to play games.
@@ricardonegron3209 what does this reference to?
@@fox7757 Warhammer 40,000. It's a British sci-fantasy setting where they use lobotomized cyborgs in place of robots.
This feels like the only zombie apocalypse that would actually get to the levels shown in movies and shows
Left 4 dead, the last of us, and no more room in hell also have infections that would lieljely end the world

If you want to get technical it would be a terminator kind of setting.

They probably Preserved them which also reduces smell.
Clearly their jobs wouldn’t be stolen, the military would make it so after they protested!
At that time period, it would be a minor change, probably smell better if we are honest.

They would never bring back their souls. That's their labor force.
Yup. With you think of the Zombies as a metaphor for Automation. Giving them their souls and humanity back is just a rebellion.
Similar to later Resident Evil villains. They started weaponizing the zombies.
I might check this out

Man, the guy is a great friend, but I like I get your trying to save your friend but did you ever ask him if he would want to be revived?
That's a philosophical question, even if he didn't you can revert re-aliving with like a gun or HCL or a pillow filled with handgrenades.
Yes, yes he did. He told him he would give him a sign if he found his soul
He did. He his friend told him to do it in the first place. Idk why that’s glossed over even tho he mentioned it in the beginning
I actually can't believe that someone is trying looking into empire of corpses. One of my favourite anime
Watson has to be Gayer than Naruto for Sasuke cause Damn man you're really willing to Burn the World for one guy???

i got to 4 minutes in and decided i really need to watch this, thanks for your review
best narrator since Game Theory matpat disappear
Same, kinda missed him.
real
Matpat SUCKED. He had this horrible overly energetic way of speaking and exaggerating his lines that was unbearable.
Personal preference, you'll learn that soon too kiddo

i got a feeling that Watson is inlove with Friday because what the hell man, just save the world, not try to save your baby daddy.

Agree. He's a gay disaster who couldn't accept his loves death 😭
he loves femboys
Am I the only one that thinks the secretary lady is actually "the one" frankenstein reanimated?
Well. You win some, you loose some.
