      Michael Trumph That's stupid, considering Earnie Shavers hit Ali square in the jaw, and Ali took it. A lot of people contend that Shavers is the hardest puncher ever.

    • @michaeltrumph121
      @michaeltrumph121 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Then how do explain the fact that a skinny HW in Cooper (a cruiserweight by today's standards) and Joe Frazier floored him ?!?
      Shavers's didn't hit him clean and by the latter rounds one's power and stamina diminishes and that transfer's into his punches.

    • @bossplayermfs5972

      +Mr2damngood I think that Ali's 32 years was to his advantage in comparison to Foreman's 24 years. Ali's wisdom won him that fight. Foreman fought the dumbest tactics imaginable during that fight and essentially , needlessly wasted all of his energy when he could have won comfortably if he had paced himself sensibly.

      Experience was a key role as well as his tactics, but as the champ foreman shoulda been ready to go the distance with Ali. Supposedly Ali watched footage of the few times Foreman gone up to the 6 or 7th round. Seeing how tired he was he thought thats how he'd get em. makem waste his energy and get en tired, the rest is history. But I agree Foreman couldve beat Ali.

    This video was during Ali's ban, he was 29-0.... but when Ali came back, he was nothing like his former self, but still took big hits from Frazier in the 15th round and got right up.. and even the Norton fight, he got his jaw broke in the 5th round and still finished a 15 round fight... so all that happened after this video, which means Cus didn't realize Ali COULD go long fights and not ''get caught up to''... and that was a non-prime Ali, just imagine a PRIME Ali fighting Joe Louis.... or even a prime Ali fighting Frazier, you wouldn't even know Frazier's name right now if Ali fought Frazier in Ali's prime... only Frazier was in his prime when they fought the first fight... and neither was in their primes in the last 2 fights.... still all great fights though.. the Thrilla in Manilla is the greatest fight of all time... bar none. This is a great video though, no 2 men in history are more stubborn than Ali and Cus.

    Billy Conn, in his 1941 fight with Louis, weighed in at 168 lbs, and staggered Louis several times in the fight. In the 12th round, he almost knocked him out with a left hook.
    Max Schmeling, at 190 lbs, knocked Louis out cold in 1936.

The great Joe Louis was a patient he had the best trainer in the history of the sport Jack Blackburn who fought 2 of the greatest fighters in the history of boxing in the early 1900s. Joe “Old Master” Gans and Sam “Boston Bonecrusher “ Langford this man knowledge for years and Joe Louis only lost one time under this man cause he didn’t do what Blackburn said in that was in ‘36 against Max Schmeling. After that the man had a 12 year title run 25 title defenses and 22 of them were won by KO’s Ring Magazine’s greatest puncher of all time International World Boxing Organization’s greatest heavyweight boxer of all time based on scientific 🧪 research the only fighter to break a man’s vertebrae with those powerful short punches of his and you actually believe that he would be able to hit Ali??? ***** That's true what you say but this video is comparing Ali and Louis.
      ''Cooper hit a perfect shot''
      You do know that compubox named Joe Louis the most accurate boxer EVER....MOST ACCURATE boxer, not just heavyweight but BOXER EVER.
      Louis had economical footwork to go the distance. He had superb timing, accuracy and decent power, which slowed his opponents down which was good because Louis liked to fight in slow pace [unlike many of his opponents, which is something many people today ignore]. Louis was also superb at setting up his punches thanks to his jab.
      You're right that some not so big names like Jones and Cooper could catch anyone, that's how boxing is. But they had attributes which gave someone with a flawed defense like Ali problems. Louis had those attributes and then some.

    • @Geist452
      @Geist452 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      trvth1s Louis also had some defensive problems of his own, and he was thoroughly out boxed by the light heavyweight champ (who was a true 175pd light heavy) for 13 rounds.
      Ali's speed and add reach - would give Louis problems; Prime Ali could move and battle for 15 rounds.. economics was not an issue.
      We are comparing the two greatest heavyweights in history, but Ali always got up and went the distance. Ali had everything sugar ray Robinson did but one punch power; and for it he became more elusive, and a maybe even a better combination puncher.

    Took as clean a shot from Frazier in the first fight as you're ever gonna see. Frazier had one of the greatest left hooks in history. He knocked Ali down with it in the 1st fight and Ali got back up. Ali could take punishment in a fight. As great as Louis was, and he's the top heavyweight of all time IMO, in a fight against Ali he loses more often than not. Louis has trouble with movers, Walcott, Conn, and Pastor. None of them has Ali's speed and were also smaller.

    Imagine a man possessing so many strong qualities all at once,
    A man who was an iconic historic and record-breaking sports figure, strong moral principles, physically gorgeous and stunningly handsome, warmhearted towards the common man and the down-trotten, humanitarian at a global scale, ability to be serious with a tremendous depth, using words with a lot of weight accordingly and can maneuver difficult conversations well, when in company with others he was known for always being light in spirit // joyous and humorous. He was superbly intelligent verbally, funny and witty on the spot. He was offered to teach poetry at Harvard even though he left high-school being considered illiterate. He was abundantly creative poetically, and brought verbal artistry to a field where-in it had never been imagined to be used. He ignited passion and new life to the sport of boxing and he invented new techniques and styles to boxing too.
    He was a humble man despite being one of the wealthiest and most famous on planet. He was a spiritual leader and voice of faith. He always saw eye to eye with anyone he met no matter their status. He was generous with his time and money. He was a sensitive man, it’s obvious to see how deeply he cared for the well being of anyone suffering. He pro-actively used his hard earned success to give back to those who needed it the most. He bravely spoke up for his beliefs at a time and place were you could get killed for doing so, especially risky for a man in the spotlight.
    HIS CONFIDNECE, TRUST AND BELIEF IN HIMSELF !!!!! What a breath of fresh air ~~
    … Just to hear someone so comfortable speaking that positively and encouragingly about himself? Who else could pull that off without coming across as annoying? When he does it, we only look at him fondly, because he does it in such a charming manner- a skill / ability hard to teach or study.
    So many have low self worth today, seeing no light whatsoever within themselves… if only we had 10 more of him. I’m sure anybody can agree, we all feel wonderfully uplifted when we observe how he carries himself with such pride, respect and warmth.
    ALI ❤ A man of action, a man of his word. A man with a strong, warm heart. A man fiercely bold and brave - a man full of love and sincerity.
    What a fascinating man to observe. Brilliant we can look back at media like this, immortalizing him in a way that would not have been possible had he existed 200 years ago.

    The thing that i admire the most about ali after watching some of his fights and mainly his big ones is that this dude could take a punch,a bomb he absolutly refused to accept defeat, that s very strong mindset almost childish because of his refusel to not get what he wants, his rivalry with smoking joe,not many people realise but at the end of the fight with a few rounds to go before the punch that sent him to the floor there is another punch(in the clinch)where joe s punch snaps alis upward and the crowd gasps, that punch was :(im sad to say it he s downfall,it messed him up started something im not talking about his condition because im no trauma expert but that punch was so violent that snap so sharp that it must have done something to ali,but even after hes diagnostic even after stepping in the ring with pd he could still take a punch freaking amazing :(.....
    As for joe he steped into the ring with forman and was never the same...

    Thing is Joe had good footwork, you don't really see it much because the opponents he fought didn't, so he didn't use it. Watch the start of the max Baer louis fight and keep your eyes on Joe's feet. It wouldn't of been a asset to him in that era

    Great video! As good as Joe was, Ali faced a lot tougher opposition than Joe Louis. Ironic that he was 'tagged' by some of the best punchers ever - Frazier, Foreman, Shavers - and still came through. My money on Ali

    I think they told cus to argue for louis for the television, its fairly obvious ali would destroy him.

    Cus: "You've never been hit that way...." Lets see what happens when it catch up to you" "One day they'll tag you like that if you ever get back in the ring, and when they do tag you like that, we'll see how your legs behave"
    Joe Frazier's left hook to Ali dropping him in their first fight confirmed Cuss' theory.

    I had the vinyl album "The Thrill Of Sports" where one of the commentators said that the hardest punch they had ever seen thrown knocked 2 of the opponents teeth through their mouthpiece and through their lips and he fell flat on his face. That punch was thrown by Joe Louis. George Forman, Joe Frasier, Mike Tyson, none of them ever threw a punch that hard. If Cassius Clay/ Muhammad Ali ever got hit with a punch like that the results would of been the same, he would of fallen flat on his face

    The Brown Bomber by UD and a severe beating to Ali. If a slow Henry Cooper can knock down Ali/Clay, the Brown Bomber would have killed him.

      LOL Cooper knocked him down when he was still developing as a fighter, you see in the rematch Cooper couldn't land a glove on him... In those 2-3 years Ali totally became a different monster, the EVOLUTION at its best! The brown bomber would get toyed around and sent on a bench
