I am 74 years old and was born in Britain. I loved the Queen just as I loved my family, you may find that hard to imagine, but her constant presence in my life made me think of her as a part of my family. Here I am in the United States my home and my children' s home also, however still to this very moment appreciate the Queen so much, she was in my life as a child, mind you back then there was no t.v. but we had the radio and the newspapers. The Queen seemed to be the ultimate fine person, a woman also and someone that I hoped to aspire to be as kind and caring as. Now time has passed and the Queen has gone to her eternal rest. I’m a 44-year old Englishman. I was in floods of tears for several days after we lost her. It felt like my own grandmother had died. My one regret is that I never got the chance to meet her. The closest I ever got to her was after she died, when her coffin made its way from Buckingham Palace to Westminster hall for her lying in state. I stood for over 3 hours in the crowd, just for the chance to say goodbye to her coffin.

Such a lovely comment and all so true. So damn unfair of Harry and that wife of his to make Queen Elizabeth's last years on earth full of stress and misery. That interview with Oprah came out on Commonwealth Day, a strategically planned date to do the most harm and cause the most damage. Prince Philip was still ill in the hospital at the time as well. What undue stress Harry put on his OWN grandmother and Queen. She did deserve to live out her reign in peace, surrounded by her countrymen and her family, but Harry and Me-Again's vindictive jealousy of Prince William and Princess Catherine made that impossible. I was named after Queen Elizabeth, as was my mother. I hope she's resting peacefully now with her beloved Prince Philip and her parents.

@@avynthegoat Unfairly blamed? Racially biased media? WHAT racially biased media? Give me a break. They made a hate documentary about his own family, where Meghan slandered them and lied. Harry talked about "seeing a therapist at the time." So he had a phone and a therapist. Why was Meghan blocked from seeing a therapist as she'd have us believe she was literally held hostage in the palace? That's BS and we know it is!!! Then to top it all off, he writes a hate book, slamming his own brother, sister in law, who Harry used to love BTW until Meghan came along, father and stepmother, and his own military unit by calling the enemy soldiers he killed "chess pieces.: WTF??! That awful Oprah interview came out strategically on Commonwealth Day, a day so important to the Queen. You think that was an accident? No. It was timed to do the most hurt and damage to Her Majesty, his own grandmother, while her husband Prince Philip was still very ill in the hospital. They made the Queen's last few years stressful and full of anxiety. Shame on them!!! Meghan was caught with mics and videotaping equipment more than once. Meghan has slammed her own family and isn't close to any of them but her mom and has no problem slamming Harry's family. Her family aren't all terrible people as she'd have us believe. SHE is! Do you know about all her black cousins, aunts and uncles? She hides them then tries to play the damn race card!!! Why weren't they invited to the wedding? Her sister, Samantha is actually very level headed and intelligent. You would only have to look at their wedding and tell everyone again how "racist" the royal family is. The Queen included EVERYONE in that wedding, of all races and creeds as she should. But Me-Again didn't even invite her niece who was broken hearted about it, nor ANY of her black family members either but her mom. Where were they?! Meghan always playing the race card. Come on. She's a known bully here in the US and in the UK. She bullied the staff terribly on the set of Suits, surprised you haven't heard about that, and they bullied the palace staff as well to the point some of them had to quit, then lied and tried to blame some of it on Kate. Kate isn't a bully. Then they bullied the staff at Frogmore Cottage as well! It's all out there, just look. So all these staff members are lying? From 3 different places, one in the US? NO ONE wants to work for them. Wonder why? People spend years trying to get jobs in the palace. It must have been terribly bad for them if those palace staff members had to quit. Everyone making excuses for them. They've made this bed, now they have to lie in it, all the while amassing MILLIONS on defaming and bullying his own family and doing his best to make them look bad. Don't feel sorry for them ONE bit!

The Queen went fast but not when you lived in the same body for 96 years, because I realized most of my own loved ones who lived into their mid-90's complained they were ready to start their spiritual journey because their quality of life got less and less and they got to be miserable at the end with natural illnesses that effect the elderly people living in their golden years. But, some maintain good health but getting around day to day became the issue.

Her integrity, her dignity, her grace, and her commitment to duty, were shining stars in her crown. And all these traits were fully intact, as she drew her last breath. No matter what and to include any ongoing , unwarranted , unjustified and hideously painful family disputes , again to include , the loss of a beloved , disappointed and tired husband , the last 12 months of the life of The Queen , was still a darned sight more comfortable , easy , cloistered and protected than the majority of the decent people who she so discreetly let down and disappointed by dint of Her own rather strange and inadequate personality and character . And by dint of Her “obsession “ which I’m delighted to notice that the eminent historian Dr. Starkey has noted . Finally, someone has recognised it . She was 96 years old .All the problems at the point of her death were entirely of her own making , her own responsibility or lack of it . She had a darned good and comparatively pretty easy “innings “ , protected from herself even . I cannot be stricken with grief over the death of a Monarch so unworthy of the eulogies , all in order to save the hapless House of Windsor. I join with and am part of all those who wholly support the Institution of Monarchy but who are really rather tired, bored and exasperated by the idiocy of these eulogies for such a Monarch , her heirs of no great worth or inspiration , in fact , all that which constitutes the House of Windsor today . Charles was the ONLY sensible hope but even He has now fallen for or into, Windsor weakness . It was all over after King George V . Might have never run so dreadful and hastily awry and amiss , had KG VI lived longer post war but he didn’t and the rest is history as they say and the folly is being continued . It is the end of country , crown and civilised society . Imo

I remember getting the Apple News notification on my watch while in Global here in NYC. I gasped so loud while the principal was in the room, and she even wondered what happened and when I showed her, she was even surprised. Sad to see her go. In my opinion, Charles should abdicate the throne. It's not what his mother would want i'm sure, but it would be sad for the U.K to rebrand in his name, just for him to pass away again in ~10 years.

    • @dizwell
      @dizwell ปีที่แล้ว +2

@Nancy Fox Incorrect. What was changed in 2013 was the dropping of *male preference* primogeniture in favour of *absolute* primogeniture.
That is, if Prince George has a daughter, then a son A and finally a son B, the daughter will now eventually become Queen Regnant, where before 2013 Son A would have bumped her out of succession, because of the male preference bit.
It still remains true, however, that the eldest sibling succeeds (which is the "primogeniture" bit). Thus if the daughter dies whilst George is still king, it will be son A that succeeds, not son B.

I believe that had it not been for this much turmoil, HM The Queen could have easily broken the 100 barrier...I was counting on it
But I think I understand her pain...my grandpa passed away in 2015 at the age of 95 years old, he was super healty and strong for his age...but it all started to fade away once Grandma died in 2014, last time I saw him...he seemed so sad, he shyly aproached the little gate to his house and waved goodbye at me.
At that moment...I had a feeling that I wouldn't seem him again, and I was right, it is the last memory I have of him, sad and lonely waving goodbye at me...oh how I regret not getting down from that car and giving him a big hug...
May Her Majesty The Queen rest in piece, she dedicated her life to her duty and I don't think our world will ever see a person with the strength and dedication she had.
I really wish I could have had the chance to meet her, or at least send her a letter, It was a dream of mine and of my fiancee, I was shocked when I heard of her passing and I was very saddened by it.
I am not brittish, but I still admired her resolve and love hearing stories about her and what she has done, she was a beacon and a stone pillar to our world, and now that she is gone, the world will never be the same...

While his grandfather was dying in a hospital. 🤮

King Charles has ( Queen consort sure but) the new Prince&Princess of Wales by his side. Their children are adorable. Princess Charlotte looks a lot like her great-grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth 🤍❤️

The British Monarchy is going no where in our lifetimes. It's able to evolve and remain relevant like it has for centuries. It would be like the US getting rid of the stars and stripped flag because of a popular referendum. Also, @ [ 1:28 ], I've never seen her in pants, but that's color schemes by her fashion people.

she was amazing I miss her, I don't think the king will take any messing with Andrew, the king has staunch royal values that's how it should be perhaps now Andrew and his little tantrums will be ignored, and the future will be William Catherine and queen consort, the king would never let his mothers memory down that's how it should be harry and Meghan have chosen their path it doesn't make them out to be bad people, I am sure losing Diana effected harry a lot but he's moved on, it is well-documented Andrew had Ghislain and female friends in his private quarter's up to 4 times a day armed guards would be screamed at by Andrew if they intervened, or questioned Andrews motives Andrew is a loose cannon who acts like a spoilt kid the king won't allow that

Queen Elizabeth II is a very hard act to follow. She was a formidable force. I’m so sorry that Harry married Megxit. She’s a malignant narcissist and is leading Harry around by the nose. This had to make the Queen so sad. What’s so very hard is that his brother tried to warn him about her but Harry wouldn’t listen. Harry is very much going to regret this along with his book “Spare” which chronicles a jealous younger brother’s feelings about being the second child of the same sex. Big whoop!! So what?! Join the ranks of all those in the same place in the family line up. Harry could have chosen a sweet girl like his uncle, Prince Edward did. But no! Harry has to choose a looser like Megxit!! I’m sure it gave Queen Elizabeth no pleasure in stripping Harry of his rank and position. How sad!! I personally think she died of a broken heart.🥺

Although she carried on magnificently, I truly believe the death of her beloved Prince Phillip caused her health to decline significantly. She never had that twinkle in her eye or jump in her step after his death. She only lasted about a year before she passed too. I’m grateful they are reunited now, watching over their son

As an American, I am ok not living in a constitutional monarchy. But I do respect others choice to do so. Not sure I see the point of them anymore since they don’t govern. It was fairly disastrous for many people when they did. But if the UK wants to keep the royal family because of history and pride, then go for it. Seems to work ok.

Every European constitutional monarchy is a multi-party, parliamentary democracy.
The value of a crowned head of state is he/she denies the ultimate office to an uppity politician.
Imagine if Trump had been obliged to render a weekly account of his actions to a constitutional authority above himself.
The world's one-party dictatorships are all republics.

As for the whole Princes Andrew thing...she was very old.... I'm sure knew her time was near and I'm sure she just wanted to focus on the future not the past.....everything is precious in those moments, even a shifty son.
Honestly, when I think of the Royal Family, I don't think of him or the 'suckits' 😁. I think of The Queen Consort and how far she has come and The Princess of Wales and what a great Consort she will make! 💖
