Here is a 4 deck mix I did on the 1000. I did not get above 3 tracks playing at once. But at least half the set is 3 tracks playing. I did rotate through all 4. Its stressful but the end product is well worth it.

I have the DDJ-1000 and always use all four decks. It's the same concepts as using 3-4 CDJs, you just have to use the 1/3 and 2/4 buttons on each deck to toggle between decks.

I could see me adding a 3rd deck down the line when my budget allows for it :) Right now I'm focusing on making flawless transitions as I'm a beginner and also a huge fan of deep and progressive house, but a 3rd deck does seem interesting for sure! Andy C is up there on another level for sure but his mixes are still structured and laid out as ive seen an old interview where he goes into detail on how he lays out his sets but he also has a few different directions he can take if the crowd needs building or taking down a bit, dnb is my genre and love it 😍

Been messing around with 3 and 4 deck mixing for a while now due to having layers, but only the other day I connected one of my SC5000's to my DDJ 1000, and it is so much more fun having a 3rd deck. It's also more temping to use than having a layer button on each deck so you use it more, which means you're forcing yourself out your comfort zone, which only leads to improvement

I’ve tried 3 deck mixing. On an iPad with Djay Pro... yeah, not the same I know. Still though, I’m always thinking ‘this acapella or this beat from a 3rd tune will go well with this mix’ prompting a desire to get in a 3rd deck. Cannot wait to absorb your latest lesson my man. Been looking forward to your next vid. I am your padawan.

I'd say at least 3 decks are pretty essential for dnb, when you're double dropping and the two tracks are jamming you definitely don't want to take one out to bring the other in.

Well said matey. It just simply couldn’t be possible to have these quick perfect “trick” mixes without pre planning them, and obviously if we like them we will use it time to time. Just don’t overkill it I think is the key. Make sure you have practiced lots of little tricks routines, I manage to get maybe 5 a week built , like mashup style mill routines made and banked tbh. But obviously mashup style can’t be done perfectly without some prep. People diss the prep side of DJing and think we should be able to do these things on the fly allday everyday but that’s just simply not the case

EJAY I really don’t need a stand-alone controller. I’m still exiting the bedroom dj phase. I take my laptop everywhere regardless if I’m djing or not. It’s a habit that doesn’t need to be broken. I don’t really like the jog wheels on the prime. And the software is a little behind the rest of the competition although I know they have updates it’s gonna be a while. Plus I got the ddj 1000 used for $750 cash and it’s in perfect condition. The prime 4 after tax is about $2100. Plus I could sell the ddj 1000 tomorrow for 900 easy and still make profit lol

Your a very good DJ, promoting your classes isn’t a big deal, lol!
Your videos alone are very inspiring and helpful.
I love making mistakes because sometimes they end up being really cool 😎
3 Decks look like a lot of fun. Unfortunately a third deck isn’t in the budget considering the purchase of two extra Subs and a 1000SRT.
I’m still hooked on Serato but strongly thinking of a Recordbox controller in the future. Less to carry 😉
Love the feel of the full sized jog wheels. The mixer isn’t quite like a DJM but it works for now.
I’d like to see you perform more 3 deck sets, having fun and just being who you are Andrew.
So far I’m hooked on Tech House, Progressive House, and always loved the 70’s through 1999 club tracks.
Also into heavy metal. Genres are a bit too over emphasized.
    Music is the soul.
    Keep them coming Andrew!!!
