That was my orthodontist who did my wisdom teeth. Both he and the nurse were very reassuring, which i absolutely needed because I am very squeamish with needles. Every few seconds as they were putting the IV in he would ask me if I was ok. I wasn’t really but I think him checking in with me helped me to be at least a little more comfortable. At the same time I was so happy when they found the vein they needed and I no longer had to feel that needle 😣 My arm feels funny just thinking about it 😓
*SHHHHHSHSHHSHSH* AHAHAHHAH!!! **crashes** (i was going to make a helluva boss reference and say "that's a mood gabriella" but i had to fulfill my duty to the chain first)
I have turned to Jaiden’s videos for comfort twice now. I had stress hives around new years. Now I have to get my wisdom teeth and two others in August. Way to go Jaiden you are an amazing comfort TH-camr!!
My mom was a dental assistant, so I actually kinda grew up in dental offices. When I had to have my wisdom teeth out, mom knew the doctor and he not only decided to take all of them out instead of just the one that needed to come out all at once to do me a solid, but I got the GOOD anesthesia and I wasn't conscious AT ALL. It was nice.
I didn't have any kind of connections, but I flat out told my mom that I refused to be awake when they pulled mine (all 4, at once, because they were all growing in sideways). So, she hooked me up. And that gas stuff is HELLA GOOD. I could NOT stop giggling like an idiot on the drive home.
They knocked me out when I got mine out. I lived off of soup-like foods for a week, meaning my mom used her hand blender that she used for certain soups to puree everything for me. Chili, apple crisp and ice cream, I ate well. Plus I convinced her to schedule it the week after spring break ended so I could take another week off and play Dark Souls II. It was my senior year of high school and I was extremely checked out
I was also unconscious, but my diet didn’t change a lot, I ate pancakes the next day, and macaroni. It’s been a few days, and I’m basically back to my regular, but it’s really annoying
I went to a children’s dentist so when you had to pull out teeth, they would give you a fruit flavored juice thing and when you left it in your mouth for a couple of seconds, you just wouldn’t feel any pain. (they even let you pick the flavor of the juice) Edit: for those of you asking, I’m sorry, I really forgot where it was and what the name was :(
If your dentist or hygienist comes off as aggressive, you may want to have an open, honest chat with them, flagging something specific they did that made you uncomfortable. Or if you're conflict-averse, keep switching dentists until you luck out and find a good, welcoming dentist's office 🤞
I remember I went to a dentist (There was a loose tooth I didn't know was loose, and I bit a caramel and it came out, the corners apparently broke off during the caramel tear and were stuck in like tiny spikes in my gum. No, it didn't hurt because I was just in pure shock at the fact a sweet ripped my tooth out) and there was also a dead tooth that needed to be removed. While he did take the corners and the dead tooth out like he's the protagonist of far cry 2, the anaesthetic worked so well it was actually satisfying.

Once when my mom was bathing me, back when I was young enough to still have her bathe me, I accidentally hit the jacuzzi button in the bathtub. The noise freaked me out and I was out of that tub in a flash! I refused to bathe for two weeks.
I had my wisdom tooth removed just a couple of hours ago. The painkillers took effect after the procedure and I could feel almost everything they were doing. They didn't cut the tooth or gum, they just tore it out with pliers. The video helps, I feel better, but I still have a hard time holding back tears. My whole jaw hurts, I can't drink or eat, it's like I hit my head on concrete several times. Thanks for this video, I feel at least some kind of moral support ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ
When she mentioned getting her wisdom teeth taken out I was like: "oh but that's not that bad you're just out the whole time because of the sedatives" and then 30 seconds later she says how the nurse told her they "don't do that there" and I felt so bad for her
It's kinda horrifying cuz it's not a 2-minutes procedure, mine took an hour to get the tooth and the gum taken out. There were at least 10 dentist tools being stuffed into my mouth that day
Just got my wisdom teeth removed without being put under they put local. anesthetic it wasn’t really that bad It’s been like 3 hours and it feels a little sore but I’m otherwise fine
I had my wisdom teeth removed a few weeks ago and my experience was very different. Unlike Jaiden, I was put completely unconscious. Until I came to the only pain was an IV put in my arm. All I remember right before the surgery was being hooked into the IV, and the nurses putting an oxygen nose mask on me. All I remember after that was immediate darkness shortly followed by waking up with my entire mouth being sore and swollen. The darkness felt like less than 10 seconds when I was in surgery for about 50-55 minutes.
For me, I just got anesthetized locally. Needle in my mouth and all that. In fact, it's kind of the norm here when they need to do procedures on you. It was creepy as fuck because I could *feel* them rummaging around in my mouth, it just wasn't painful. Until a few hours after the surgery, when the anesthetic started wearing off. I gladly traded some nause from the oxycodone for getting rid of the pain of having had my gums cut up to pull out that damn tooth.
Yea, my surgery for to my arm were like that ( I didn’t get an IV though, and I got the needle anaesthesia the second time, the first one I had the mask though but it left a bruise )
Me knowing that sleeping is completely fine and that nightmares are normal, unrealistic, unreasonable things that my mind makes up. Also me: *staring at ceiling in the dark intensifies*
Fun fact: most doctors and dentists in my country give you lollies to try and calm you down instead of it being a reward Example; a kid cried and moved all the time during their blood shot test. They are given a rainbow lollipop. Another kid stayed still and smiled during their blood test. They are given nothing. Unfair, right?
You guys got lollipops? Where I live if you're good or bad during the doctor & dentist appointments (it doesn't matter because you get it either way), you get a sticker of your choice. However, at the dentist you not only get a sticker but you also get a pencil & something else but I forgot. However you get nothing at the orthodontist WHICH IS TOTALLY UNFAIR!!!!!
You guys get anything at all? When I got 7 teeth pulled out, I got a container for my tooth with a ribbon. Not even a sticker, stamp, lollipop, or anything at all. My sister got an entire BACKPACK full. *EDIT: 8 likes let’s gooooooo* *Edit: 11 likes 😩*
I’m getting a tooth pulled next week and watching this gave me a sense of comfort. This isn’t the first time I’ve had a tooth pulled, but it’s still quite nerve wracking. So it helps to be reminded that I’m far from the only person who gets anxious about the dentist.
Hey, i got out my wisdom theet yesterday, sadly i was fully conscious, so they i felt all those syringes, but from there, zero pain. Im feeling nice at this time, i just need like 1 week yo recover, my dentist said. Just try to stay calm (not easy), im gonna be honest, i cried a bit hahaha, it was incomfortable feeling those things they use, and that saw-like pencil they use to break the molar, umm, in my case, i did not like it. Stay strong 💪, its just gonna be like 15-40 minutes. Good Luck with your treatment!!✨ Edit: I think i misread haha, you mean just an extraction? Thank god, those take less than 15 minutes.
Honestly, I always got a coin for my teeth lol. When my first teeth broke I told my mother about it AND the tooth fairy so when I was little I always kept my broken tooth under my pillow AND GOT PAIIIDDDD. I realized the tooth fairy was parents at the age of 10
Just got my wisdom teeth removed today. I can confirm, Jaiden had a horrible dentist. You are supposed to be unconscious. For me the worst part of the dentist trip itself was the IV stuff. I hate needles. But other than that, what really sucks is the recovery. I cannot stop bleeding, blood is just drooling out of my mouth and going down my throat. It's awful. Plus the jaw pain is horrendous.
you don't need to be unconscious at all, you should always stick with local anesthesia unless the patient has some severe issue that prevents them from remaining calm. Using general sedation is a very rare practice for dentistry worldwide these days.
@@marcs9451I’ve been sedated TWICE for two seperate teeth removals for no real reason. I don’t have a history or anything… it’s just their procedure. And everyone else I know was either knocked out or put on laughing gas so I’m not sure where you’re coming from. Edit: looked into it and results are unclear. Some say IV is the best and most common son say it’s rare so I’d like to apologize. Have a good night.
I don’t remember but my parents told me they had to schedule me on Saturdays so no one else was in the office so that no one would hear my bloodcurdling screams…. I guess it was so traumatic that i whipped it from my memorie…😅
My first wisdom tooth (bottom right) was removed due to being invasive and blocking one of my molars. I got lucky because a year or two later I had to get my other three removed at the same time. Since they were all gonna be removed in one session, they decided to put me to sleep instead of keeping me conscious, which was nice. Side note: anesthesia is freaky, you don’t even go to sleep. One second you’re just waiting and the next, the procedure is over and you’re like “whaaaaaat?”
I have to get all 4 of mine removed due to them not having enough room to erupt + pushing my teeth forward and making them crooked so I'm scared as heck about the anesthesia mostly instead of the teeth getting pulled
i was put to sleep as well! but the orignal plan was for the removing of three molars (so my wisdom teeth where my replacements) and they also removed one of my wisdom teeth so I wouldent have to deal with that again. but back to the anesthesia: the docters that did the procedure told me what it would be like but i disracted myself by reading a panflet while they put the needle in my arm because I HATE NEEDLES. afterwards i dont remember much but my family has plently of videos of me walking and talking like I was drunk witch are funny to watch. but i do remeber that i wanted noodles, but couldent because i couldent eat meat
@@maggiemidnight8957 Cool, I'm different though. I actually like to look at the needle as it penetrates through my skin, though, I'm not entirely sure why. I was put to sleep because they had to remove all three teeth at once, and injecting needles into different corners of my mouth over and over is impractical, bothersome, and painful (on my part).
When I was like 10 i was scared of going to the dentist so I had to go to a special dentist. They put me to sleep and I was screaming on the top of my lungs and the next thing I know im dizzy as hekkkkk -_- (help me im still scared)
Just letting you know, today I got my wisdom teeth removed and even though I am also scared, I managed to get through it. It really helped to had watched this video multiple times before, I remembered this video and how even though you were scared, you managed to get over it and I thought "she didn't die, she is fine, I can do it too" . I cried a little before the procedure, and I squeezed a pack of tissues from time to time during the procedure and my legs were trembling even after it was all over (they were trembling when I was dealing with the paperwork after), but, honestly, it was better than I thought It would be. So, thank you Jaiden :D and to anyone out there also scared, you got this ;D
This reminds me of the dentist i had who straight up told me “you’re the reason i want to retire early” only because i was crying. That dentist also only used a needle but other dentists ive been to used this numbing gel and then the needle so it didnt hurt as much. My first dentist was terrible. I did switch dentist after that day but that first dentist. I leave one message to you:hope you step on a lego every day for every time you have been rude to me. And the time ive said here automatically makes it you step on a lego every second
@@himynameisanna5650 i was a kid when that happened. My mom was right there though so she knew what happened and we got a new dentist as soon as we could
I liked going to the dentist as a kid, they were always nice but when i had moved and went to a new dentist office, the place sucks and is small. I dont like it but the staff are quiet and they only take forever to do anything.
This actually makes me feel way better about my fear of the dentist. Since i was a kid i’ve been terrified of the dentist, one time i had to get held down i was fighting so much. I have two cavities i was supposed to get filled this week and they tried putting me under laughing gas and i was having a panic attack the whole time. We basically gave up and decided to do it another time. It makes me feel better that i’m not being immature for my fear and i’m not the only one
that’s actually interesting, when i got my wisdom teeth removed i got all four of them taken out but they hooked a IV needle looking thing in my arm and i totally just blacked out, my brother’s experience was funnier though because he got the same thing but he saw the whole ceiling spin and just said “oh yeah, i’m feeling it now” the dentist people just laughed as he passed out instantly after saying it
In my case they had to call an anesthetist because the normal amount didn't work on me an I was still awake so they weren't sure how much more they could give without killing me or something I don't know :D
I remember another time I had surgery (not for my teeth) and I actually got sedated, not just local anesthesia, it felt VERY trippy. I don't know what they gave me in that IV, but I felt sensation and heat drain from my limbs and thought "so that's what being dead feels like", and it was getting REALLY creepy because I couldn't move, at all, and I felt horribly cold. Then, suddenly I felt heat, like I was being immersed in a bathtub full of warm tea, and I'm pretty sure I started hallucinating some really trippy shit before passing out and being in a state of basically about to wake up but unable to feel pain, The only sensation I could feel was the tactile sensation of what they were doing. Then, I woke up in the hospital bed.
Lol when i got them out they last thing i remember is are you feeling sleepy yet? To which i responded "No." then nothing i woke up as they where packing my mouth with gauze.
i have an extreme fear of needles. last December I tripped and fell while skipping down a mountain trail (don't worry, I learned my lesson.) and had to get stitches. I was having a panic attack for multiple hours and sobbing uncontrollably. they had to put on three different pain and anxiety medications. they offered to put me unconscious, but that involved a needle so no thank you. so, that was fun.
I would say that cus i don't want to spill my secrets and say dumb things and u may ask what secrets me part of the LGBTQ+ and me shipping bakudeku and things like that no i do not ship ereri so yuh
As a dentistry student who did have a phobia from the drilling sounds it feels funny now to think about it cuz for some mysterious reason we are the most feared department of health care 😂😂 it's okay to say that u're afraid we can chit chat or play some music or anything to make u feel comfortable so the next time just tell the staff that and i can assure u they will be down to help you ♥️
I always wondered if dentists are actually extremeley evil and sadistic people since unlike other kinds of doctor they freaking yank teeths, drill in sensitive spots, press where it hurts and so on and ultimateley activeley create much more suffering (for many clients, or at least it was so for me all my life up to now) than what was experienced before. To the point whenever I notice something off in my mouth I shake in fear never for what I would suffer if I do nothing but for I what pain I would suffer if I will go to see *her* . What I'm trying to say is that I would emotionally be devasted if all day I need to hurt my patients to do my job correctley, I could never stand it.
@@edwardsuou I'm really sorry for your past bad experiences with dentist but i can assure you that we are not trying to hurt you on purpose and i really get why we are the most not popular doctors between others😂 you see all the tools the we use to treat you and i know it looks like a torturing device and the huge needle we have may look scary and really scare you but they are really not harmful .and as the thing we pressed on the sensitive areas that called intraoral examination so we know you don't have any other problems that may ceases serious problems.and lets be real being a dentist is a really hard things to do from college to clinic and always have to be positive so you can comfort your patient and at the end of the day all we want the you all in good health and happy that's all the things that matter to us🤍.
honestly what stresses me out the most about going to the dentist is the judgment. i can handle the needle sticks and the drilling sounds but i can't handle "wow you have NOT been taking very good care of your teeth, your gums are bleeding, why aren't you flossing..." i genuinely wish i could chew food without teeth because i would just have them all ripped out so i never had to deal with them again.
@@edwardsuou i think you might also have a bad dentist. if they're doing their job correctly, they AREN'T hurting you. yes they're pulling teeth but if you're in pain, they've missed something. i've had dentists ask if i could still feel anything after they gave me novocaine (twice) and when i said yes they said "okay then we need to stop, i can't work on you while you're in pain." they referred me to an oral surgeon who doped me up so good my whole head felt like it was made of wood and i was giggling while he pried my tooth out of my mouth. second best dental experience of my life (first was when i was fully unconscious for my wisdom teeth).

It’s always good to have connections in the medical industry

I went to a children’s dentist so when you had to pull out teeth, they would give you a fruit flavored juice thing and when you left it in your mouth for a couple of seconds, you just wouldn’t feel any pain. (they even let you pick the flavor of the juice)

I don’t mind going to the Dentist, they just freak me out with how aggressive they can be.

THIS IS SO TRUEEEEE
If your dentist or hygienist comes off as aggressive, you may want to have an open, honest chat with them, flagging something specific they did that made you uncomfortable.
Or if you're conflict-averse, keep switching dentists until you luck out and find a good, welcoming dentist's office 🤞
Remember people say oh its not gonna hurt in dentist boy i was it tears at that point u think i cant feel pain
When is got my wisdom teeth removed, the dentist put me to sleep. According to my mom, I screamed during the procedure.

The darkness felt like less than 10 seconds when I was in surgery for about 50-55 minutes.
thats like what happened when i got my tonsils removed but without the IV. i just woke up in my car driving home
Remember kids , brush your teeth
Same but with no pain and I was out several hours.

Fun fact: most doctors and dentists in my country give you lollies to try and calm you down instead of it being a reward
Example; a kid cried and moved all the time during their blood shot test. They are given a rainbow lollipop.
Another kid stayed still and smiled during their blood test. They are given nothing.
Unfair, right?
Yes, it's unfair, but that is actually more efficient.
I got a toy when I was in the dentist
You guys get anything at all? When I got 7 teeth pulled out, I got a container for my tooth with a ribbon. Not even a sticker, stamp, lollipop, or anything at all. My sister got an entire BACKPACK full.

Yeah got all four of mine removed yesterday and I don’t remember any of the procedure past the needles in my mouth.
I remember another time I had surgery (not for my teeth) and I actually got sedated, not just local anesthesia, it felt VERY trippy.

Vvt vvt
@@edwardsuou i think you might also have a bad dentist. if they're doing their job correctly, they AREN'T hurting you. yes they're pulling teeth but if you're in pain, they've missed something. i've had dentists ask if i could still feel anything after they gave me novocaine (twice) and when i said yes they said "okay then we need to stop, i can't work on you while you're in pain." they referred me to an oral surgeon who doped me up so good my whole head felt like it was made of wood and i was giggling while he pried my tooth out of my mouth. second best dental experience of my life (first was when i was fully unconscious for my wisdom teeth).

well i only got a dentist to fix my tooth so i didnt experience anything else
This has somehow convinced me even more not to go to the dentist, I’d say who needs teeth but it’s the half tooth’s that hurt
You should really take care of your teeth. You might regret not doing so in the future.
That’s good advice and everyone should take it. Including myself, as much as I’d like to make excuses on why I can’t I guess my health is to important to be stubborn
What!!!!!😱
@@invisibletig3r128 bro. See a dentist. They're not all gonna do shit like this.
The dentists do help but dang mine need better methods. Last year they pulled out 3 teeth that weren’t loose at all without giving me a numb shot, and told me a 5 year old handled pain better. By the way my teeth weren’t wiggled out, they were forcibly twisted 180 degrees then yanked out.
