It was a rural school practically in the middle of nowhere in the early 90's, fresh out of the 80's with no internet access so the teacher couldn't punch in "Kirin" and find out it's actually a Japanese liquor.

FR I TRIED TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST SOMEONE WHO WAS 17 (I AM 14) AND THEY KICKED ME IN MY CROTCH AND STOMACH, SO I KICKED BACK AND THEN I GOT SUSPENDED FOR 5 DAYS-
On picture day, girls have to wear sweaters/cardigans because if your shoulders were showing, you got dress coded. Me and my friends joked about this during lunch by saying stuff like “Shoulders! So scandalous!” and one guy sitting at the table next to us shouted “Put away those shoulders before someone gets pregnant!”. For the rest of the day, we laughed and said that.
*StOrY tImE!* I went to a private Christian school and we weren’t allowed to dye our hair but It all changed in my 5th year (grade 5 for all you Americans). I had gotten the ends of my hair dyed, most of the teachers didn’t really care but there was this one teacher who wasn’t even for my year group but came up to me basically everyday and told me to dye my hair back to its natural colour or cut it because it “wasn’t allowed” . I never did do anything about my hair but when my mother found out how rude she was being she got so mad at her it was so funny.
I was one of those good kids who got away with breaking the rules 😈 In the UK it's 99.9% uniforms, and in my school everything HAD to be the issued branded clothing from a specific shop. No makeup, no dyed hair, girls wore skirts, blah blah blah. Very uncomfortable and very expensive. Well, not only did I refuse to wear skirts, I also wore trousers that were... gasp! *Not standard issue*! As in, my mum got so pissed at the needless cost that she joined my crusade and just bought standard navy dress pants from the department store, as well as fitted business blouses too instead of the baggy, ill-fitting monstrosities at the shop. Cheaper and ironically looked way better. She also taught me makeup that was very subtle: brown mascara, pale pink eyeshadow etc. This being the early 2000s where the fashionable makeup was bright orange and ladled on with a trowel. I even tinted my hair redder with one of those 'wash out in two weeks' kits. I was a little ginger rebel! But yeah, one day my form tutor pulled me aside and I finally thought I was going to get it, but she just smiled and whispered that she knew I was breaking the rules, but not only was she gonna let my non-issue clothing slide but actually thanked me for wearing makeup that matched my skin tone. And that was it for the rest of the school year. The only rule I hadn't broken was the need for a blazer and tie, and they didn't care 😅
I can actually relate with having to pick my own outfit, whenever my family and I are going somewhere, even the simplest of places, my mind overthinks on what I should wear as if I’m going to a party and it’s actually kinda annoying. But the funny thing is I only overthink on the weekends and not on the weekdays when I have school.
@@samanthawright9589 yup except a hat i don't really like hats there not comfortable when i wear them its always so itchy also no one else is asking me to type this but i still i do what i don't care okay so how do i explain like hmmmmmm my fav part was ,,am so bad" °v° ¤v¤ 《•v•》
I also overthink what I'm going to wear when going places. I personally love having my clothes in a specific color pallet or a specific theme, it's to the point where I'll bring a fidget toy or some other item just because it matched my outfit. I still don't quite know why I do this, possible reasons being: I'm just a very detail-oriented person, character design is something love doing (and one of the only things I'm good at when it comes to drawing), the inate human desire to have things look nice, maybe a confluence of all these factors? Who knows... (sorry this got so long btw)
I still get that 'Imaginary Audience' feeling at my work, I sometimes feel my co-workers are judging me how I look and act, even tho they are minding their own business lol.
Nobody is ever gonna read this but... I didn't even know school dress codes existed. I know that kids in the UK have to wear uniforms, but I thought everywhere else you could just wear whatever. Every school I've ever been to was completely fine as long as you didn't show up naked. Edit: Well, I guess people did find and read my comment among 6,5k comments at the time of posting
Back on this side of the river pretty much all schools have uniforms. Private, public, doesn't matter, all have uniforms. And only some high-schools don't. So, yeah. Lucky.
I remember at my school there was a constant war between faculty and students over string bags. Girls could use purses, guys wanted string bags, especially since sports groups were given them for free by the school.
Lol, hats and hoodies are banned at my school, but we can wear short shorts as long as they’re not TOO short, and your parents have to approve. My dress code is pretty chill, and we have a hat day sometimes.
When I was in high school (mid 2000s), dress code was enforced really unevenly. Essentially, unless something was really egregious, the only girls that were dress coded were heavier girls. So a girl wearing size 2 could get away with showing her shoulders, but if you were bigger, you could bet your ass you were being asked to change.
Can confirm, graphic tees still make up the majority of my shirts, especially for my summer wardrobe. Winter will see me alternating between sweaters and graphic tees plus a sweatshirt on top for more warmth and hoods.
my clothes are very subtle minus my hoodies but thats just cos ill wear any hoodie that is comfortable SRSLY MY PARENTS BOUGHT ME AN 18+ hoodie and i WOULD wear it IF IT WASNT INNAPORPRIATE FOR PUBLIC XD (it looks comfy tho so i keep it)
Am Dead Inside Oof I would never do that, when at school it comes to an activity using some sort of colour, everyone is screaming at people with pencil cases to lend them their pens. Bad idea for me
4:55 - my guess is that she knew it was a messenger bag, but because you were the good kid, she trusted that you weren’t bringing anything questionable into school
Dress codes have relaxed a lot! 35 years ago I got sent home for; not being clean shaven, Chest hair sticking out the top of my shirt ( Blond not dark), wearing my uniform (no logos/insignia), having my pager on, and having exposed metal parts ("D" rings for lifting/securing integrated into my workwear). Don't try to work and go to school!!
@@quuirrel19_-sz9pj Chest hair- one offence, sent home with the expectation I'd hurry back. Came back the next day. Pager- second offense, turned it off. Had the boss call the school. Workwear/uniform - third offense. Only had the metal "D" rings on one day because there was a severe winter storm going. Shouldn't have had school going!
3:07 OMG we had a whole year like that too! 😂😅 Like Fr “What the hell school?!” Someone thought it would be cool to wear curse words and an inappropriate piece of art (not gonna say what was on it) on a shirt to 2ND FRICKING GRADE! 💀😑

Well you’re lucky cause when I was in middle school we had to wear uniforms. Idk what is wrong with America and the whole of the US but uniforms are a lot more better
I know right. Ok in my school(going to 6th grade this year p.s thank you 🙏 corona) in the 5th grad e the girls were not allowed to wear shirts with holes on the sleeves or tank tops(I’m not that mad because I understand people not wanting to smell sweaty kids and boys who used to much body spray/cologne) but I didn’t understand the cut sleeves anyone else?
that remains me one time this girl flicked water in my face for accidentally poking her shirt with a marker and the teacher was like “it’s your fault!”
So here is the story, so I’m a male and not really popular... so of course I got scolded a lot easier, I bet it was because the teacher was scared of the aggressive kids, and once, I violated the dress code rules, I wore activity shorts (or basketball shorts) above my knees. That, my friend, was true terror for the rest of the day.
Somebody once told me that the world is gonna roll me, I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed! She was looking kinda dumb with her finger and a thumb with a shape of an L on her forehead

I went to a private Christian school and we weren’t allowed to dye our hair but It all changed in my 5th year (grade 5 for all you Americans).

My brother got dress coded for wearing pajamas when it wasn’t pajama day
