  • The company appears to be making an earnest effort to make this owner content, but given their experience, LG may have to go the extra mile to win back their confidence.

    Your washer should be in a pan that is plumbed to the drain. Very few people do it, but that is the correct setup. Same as a water heater inside the house.

      110% right. We have done this and sleep better at night. Water leaks are a nightmare. We are in a condo and just went through this with an old pipe leaking downstairs neighbor- 12k in damage and months to deal with.

    I was considering an LG top load washer, but after this, I have changed my mind. Far too many companies give poor customer service anymore, when problems arise.

  • @rayramirez9837

    It sounds more like a customer issue not an LG issue. LG was trying to get a repair man out to check the machine but the customer only wanted replacement.

      LG's repair consists of getting one out in 60 plus days. Your time is coming to deal with LG service repair and see how long it takes idiot.

    Good grief, this is just one incident. It could have happened with ANY washing machine brand or model. The important things is to install a washer in the right place, with the right precautions, so that when something like this happens, it won't do all this damage.

    The reason for not "Replacing the machine" for a new one is understandable. If they replace it with another one the new can have a problem with that one....back to square one.
    That's wise to replace the part on the broken one and move on. People dont understand these machine have replacement parts even for a few weeks old machine... it's the same for car/trucks.

    We just bought a new LG washer and dryer. Seem really good after a couple of loads through each. Def not my mom’s washer and dryer😂😂😂. In the store they said that it’s usually the first 4-6 weeks for a dud to show itself. Ours are the WiFi one’s so everything they are doing is tracked on the app. REGISTER IT BEFORE YOU EVEN HOOK UP THE WATER LINES.

    This is why I am not getting rid of my 2006 Roper washing machine (no frills version of a Whirlpool direct drive washer). All of these high efficiency top loaders have no tub suspension or brake and rely on automatic balancing to cut down on the cost of manufacturing the machine. My washer has an electromechanical timer, and no electronic circuitboards, which are often the first thing to go bad on these modern washers and dryers.

  • @milfordcivic6755
    @milfordcivic6755 ปีที่แล้ว

    LG front loading washers have faulty inlet fill valves that leak after the seal fails, then stay open whether the machine is powered on or not. After barely 2 years of service, mine failed. I've had machines prior to this that ran 10 years until problems start. Electronic junk and water dont mix.

    Have a LG Top Load efficiency washer. Yesterday we were alerted by Son while out shopping that the machine was overfilling water all over the floor and could not be shut off as the panel was blacked out. Machine would not respond to On/Off button and would not shut off water even when unplugged. We raced home to find Laundry Room, Kitchen and dining room flooded. Only way to shut water off was via the on/off water valve machine was connected to. We are disappointed that the machine went defective causing thousands in damage to floor and cabinets. I guess this is the last LG product for us. Still sickened by all the damage we are now faced with because of this machine.

    It receives very light use. Piece of junk. Need to put a large rubber tray underneath it just in case for the future. Should be a class action against LG

    Here in Panama at least... we can select between Smart Inverter with auto-sensing but at least they fill with enough water to roll over the clothes (non HE washers) and Inverter Direct Drive (Some of them are HE and others aren't) but thinking it well... HE doesnt clean at all and they're garbage.

      Maytag is owned by Whirlpool.

    • @MOAB-UT
      @MOAB-UT ปีที่แล้ว

      No Harry- go with Speed Queen TC5 next time...for sure. Maytag uses a plastic outer tub and plastic gears in their "commercial" $1k washer. I researched this a lot this month as we are upgrading. Speed Queen is a great washer. It also weighs much more than even the Maytag. It uses a steel outer basket coated with porcelain- truly commercial quality. Built like a tank says many happy owners. TR7 is quieter than TC5 but it does not clean as well so it dependson your needs. The TC5 pumps the water out hard- you can get some suds but there are some fairly simple fixes for that. It also matters if you have hard or soft water, diameter of your drain pipe (2" is better than 1.5") and how much soap you use. They also say to use white vinegar instead of fabric softener. A TC5 will last a very long time with very few issues. Way better than anything Maytag (Whirlpool) and that is a fact.

    • @milfordcivic6755
      @milfordcivic6755 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maytag is just a brand now. It does not manufacture it's own products anymore.

  • @MOAB-UT

    Sorry this happened. That said, this guy is dramatic. You don't need to remove the entire walls of sheetrock for 1" of water at the baseboard- if that. I just went through this and remediation far worse than this and they only removed about a foot at the bottom. Also, part of this is the owners fault. Appliances leak, they have issues. You MUST install a drain pan at the bottom that has a drain. This is basic knowledge and hopefully a lesson learned for this guy. Again, it's not fun but stuff happens. You need to be better prepared.

    LG is really good at making appliances with defective parts and then there is no repair service in most areas except possibly in some major metro city areas. Then they cannot get a repair tech to your home in any timely manner because their repair setup for techs is one tech covers say a 2 or 3 State area. Nice service setup "A"! Then there is the issue of no parts from them in stock. By the time it's said and done you might get your 4 to 6 month old appliance repaired say in 6 months. Let's all keep buying LG imported products because you are all brain conditioned by them that this is the top notch items to buy their over priced items only to break and malfunction in a short period of time. Because my friends on FB said so, they are the truth tellers you believe, that you take as the word of GOD and therefore must be correct. So many idiots that cannot do research or think for themselves other than follow the conditioned masses and their statements or talk.
