That's a nice boat, but i was honestly expecting more room on the interior when you said that it was a 40. Seems like the layout wasted a large amount of space aft and the entryway definitely seemed awkward. I would be curious to know more about the cascover, as regards maintenance procedures -- do you just sand down the bottom paint as you would with a fiberglass hull and then reapply your anti-fouling? As it is a wooden core, I would be scared to death to damage that coating and let shipworms get into the wood!!! I agree with your statement that the "wood boat would make me anxious." Great episode as usual!!!
Thanks! Yes, I am learning about that cascover, too. It appears to be very rugged. I think part of the reason why she seemed so small down below was the fading/tapering coach roof in the bow. Felt a little tight up beyond the head. But the main living area felt ample, but you're right, for a 40-footer, not a ton of room. I was pleasantly surprised by the fit and finish below. Nice boat!
I want her. Why in the heck don't I live in the US/Canada where something like this can be found, opposed to Australia where I've not seen anything like this for near this good a price.
These are the boats that attract people into buying one.. people aren't looking for your everyday tub of plastic or fiberglass that was built to be a throw away.. you would have many more subscribers and views if you went around to yards and brokers etc searching for sailboats that are special and unique yet not expensive
Another great episode. Unique boat. Not for everyone, but perfect for someone. Thanks!
Thanks for watching and for your comments!
A lot of boat for the money. You definitely get British design vibes. Thanks for sharing
Nice find. That's a LOT of boat for the price.
Agreed!

Agreed. That’s what we’ve been doing and we have some great boats coming up.
Is that reflection on the side of the boat, or does it have bubbling of the paint ?
100% no bubbling in the paint... Hull is in great shape.
That looks like a freezer box that the engine sits in !
Cool but but it appears to be a bit cramped . Not my style. Though that keel has lasted , Im not a fan of the bolt on
I have an encapsulated keel, so I hear you. Didn't look like this one would ever fall off, though!
Good design for aluminum boat. Wood not so much.
It's been going strong for 30 years, but I hear you!
What is the headroom ?
Over 6' down the center. I am 6'1".
Yes
