Pepsi/Coke, vinegar and bicarbonate of soda are a good combo for removing stubborn rust. Either soak it or use the mixture to gently scrub it. My brother uses it it clean and restore vintage rusty coins. We have also restored an old metal bookshelf that was extremely rusty as it had been left outside for years. 🌸💗🌸 I hope this tip helps for restorations in the future

Awesome job restoring that pocket knife 🔪. One day you should restore a couple of the files you keep finding. A couple of different sizes. You can also sell them to horse farriers. My ex had alot of different sizes for our horses, as he did all of it himself. Saved alot of money that way. I hope you,and your family are doing good. I bet your son is growing up fast. Have a great day my friend ❤🙂.

If your into ASMR this video is perfect for that. I think no talking is great bc the sounds alone is relaxing. The music threw me off, I suggest making some videos without music or talking. You could have a whole other channel in ASMR. Love both channels, very interesting. I love waiting to see what's on the magnet. The vintage finds are awsome!! My son magnet fishes he's 9 but he loves it!

The handles on a pocket knife are called scales, made from, wood, plastic, stag or antler, ivory or just braided rope and wire. Some are bolstered while others are pinned together. It helps to coat with a light oil to fight re-rusting.

Use a vinegar and baking soda with a few drops of dawn dish soap to soak first. Then use a soft toothbrush to clean. Before and after electrolysis.. I’ve also used toothpaste after soaking (while still wet) because it contains microscopic abrasives that also help to remove some of that gunk. Never tried it on a pocket knife but it works wonders for tarnished metals that initially look unsalvageable.

    Hi Tyler,
Curious if you are using grocery store type vinigar (3%)? Or Harris Vinigar (30%)? It works very well to kill weeds too! I use it straight or add a little salt and dish soap in a hand pressure sprayer. Just a tip for rust in the restoring process and next summers weeds around the farm.
Have you watched any of Green Mountain Metal Dectecting videos? He also restores some of his finds. Maybe tips for future finds and restorations!
You are a busy man for sure and I enjoy all the videos!
