Major League Baseball has a huge problem with the umpires they use Unless the umpires union cracks down on accuracy of calls, and professionalism on the field of play, they are in serious jeopardy of becoming obsolete with the technology available to do the job better with automated systems
I still say it's Ron Kulpa. The game where he threw out an Astros player and AJ Hinch at a Rangers game and told AJ "I can do what I want" while smiling left something to be desired. That incident just opened up the several other games he's exhibited this type of behavior.
wait for the automatic strike zone. there will be no arguing. make everything play replay reviewable and there will be no problems. add flying drones over the bases and foul lines. then mlb can get rid of the umps completely.

watched the ref walk over
to his car to leave...it was a Ferrari....
Pete Rose, arguably one of the greatest to ever play baseball, is banned from the hall of fame for betting on games he had no control over....
WHO MONITORS THE UMPS(Refs)???
Umpires are the police of MLB....who polices them?...
He has now umped more games than anyone in MLB history.
I like joe west better than angel Hernandez. But I’ll be honest we should appreciate all the umpires that work hard and stand at each position to make calls for the games cause if it weren’t for umpires what would baseball be like if there were no umpires.
Joe West: Tiny hat, huge head
Came for talking shit about Angel. Stayed for talking shit about Joe West. 10/10.
You should do one on Steve Mazzagatti. MMA ref.
Major League Baseball has a huge problem with the umpires they use
Unless the umpires union cracks down on accuracy of calls, and professionalism on the field of play, they are in serious jeopardy of becoming obsolete with the technology available to do the job better with automated systems
I'm not a huge fan of Joe West, but then again, I wasn't exactly enamored with Papelbon when he was on my home team.
Compared to former MLB umpire Doug Harvey, Joe West is the picture of humility.
They think the fans are there to see them, not a ballgame
I still say it's Ron Kulpa. The game where he threw out an Astros player and AJ Hinch at a Rangers game and told AJ "I can do what I want" while smiling left something to be desired. That incident just opened up the several other games he's exhibited this type of behavior.
Agreed. He's the worst ego
Thank God he's an ump and not a cop. Imagine how bad that would be
he definitely has the biggest jowls in the sport
"Initiated contact" as the player was literally rubbing chests with him
It’s always weird hearing starwars music in these videos but not bad
It’ll be fun when they replace the umps with robots
wait for the automatic strike zone. there will be no arguing. make everything play replay reviewable and there will be no problems. add flying drones over the bases and foul lines. then mlb can get rid of the umps completely.
West certainly initiated the hand-to-body contact - but Papelbon had already bumped him by that point. Papelbon did make the first physical contact.
In his past life he must have been a construction Foreman
In Joe's defense, we would all love to smack Papplebon around, even if it means we would get destroyed
Every single time the Yankees play the Red Sox (especially in Boston), the games go well over 3 hours for a nine inning game. Joe West is making this up.
I personally don't think there's anything wrong with Joe West I think he's good for the game, he's not a terrible umpire, and he's got a decent personality
He must be swiss
I can’t stand Angel Hernandez, but over the years I’ve kind of come to like Joe West a little bit.
I mean , he is an Ump...So... to even like him a little bit is a lot. Lol
Usually the best you can be as an Ump is not to be loathed nor loved. So....
He ight.
