Thanks! I hear you, birthdays can be bittersweet for a lot of complex reasons, but I try to focus more on the sweet by doing a fun activity (like riding) with awesome people.

It almost makes me want to go to California again. :) My parents, brother, & I drove down PCH one summer several years ago, & it was soooo beautiful! Nothing like that here in East Texas. You live in a very pretty part of the country. Anyway, I hope you take care, & have a fabulous day! :)

Happy Birthday, Elena. Wasn't a cyclist while living in California and now I wish I was. Will have to bring my bike when I visit family again (or buy another one hehe.) Grew up in Huntington Beach and Laguna Hills but lived in San Jose for 6 years before moving to Iowa. Nice collection of bikes. Never visited Half Moon Bay and now wished I had. Scenery is amazing.

Hi Elena, You mentioned that the years have been flying by since 2020. I get that, and I have been through that mindset as well. I am in my 6th decade of life now and what I have learned is that the only thing that matters is "right here right now". Its all about the moment. Yes, its wise to plan for the future, but dont waste a second in the process. We cant change the past, or control the future. But we can make choices right now...thats a great place to focus on. Give Oggy a big hug for me, and I wish you all the very best from Melbourne Australia✌️

I was camped in the exact same spot when I toured that area. Near that tree, with all the rabbits coming in and out of the ground cover. Happy birthday and thanks for sharing it. Great video....I live in Rhode Island and was wondering where this was that I was watching. I then recognized it as a route I did a few years ago and will do again this year for the Arthritis Foundation. I also have a very small shop in my basement, so I watch to get new ideas. Thanks. DD

Unfortunately for your wife, it’s not a decal. I painted it myself using alcohol inks to create the watercolor effect.

I always try to do a big ride someplace beautiful on my birthday. We're spoiled down here in So Cal that I never have to worry about bad weather in February (when my birthday is).

What bike are you riding? It is awesome.. speaking of the years flying by, I realized while watching this, that this is no longer my life…
I spent 30 years having my life 100% revolving around my mountain bike and now I don’t ride at all.
I am middle aged and found out a couple years ago I have some heart issues… so I am slowing down year by year.
So live everyday. one day you will wake up and realize 30 years have passed, and you won’t “ get in shape” and then you have to find other things to keep you going.
We all go through it…. Thanks for sharing this experience with us. Sure brought me back to better times when my life revolved around two wheels and I was part of a tribe.
