This is the best video I’ve seen on someone sharing their experience on their artwork. Thank you very much for posting these in depth videos on your journey, it has inspired me to actually want to make a custom paint job of my own :)
It turned out really well, and now I am re-evaluating whether or not I want to take on the task of repainting my trainer bike. Massively jealous that you have access to a booth and proper gun, this might be a bigger hurdle than I originally anticipated. Awesome to see other people have similar interests and hobbies and to watch them collide.
As you said, it is "a wild paint job", but I can add to it by saying that it was an amazing, passionate coloring job that gave me a lot of satisfaction! 👌👍
Immediately when I saw you applying the clearcoat,i knew notice you were laying it too close and too slow. Should be 8-12 inches away. That would have been enough adjustment even with it spraying too heavy . Sanding down clear is the worst but hey it’s a learning lesson. overall still came out solid. 🙌🏾
Elena, you did a beautiful job on the bike. I’ve never seen anything like that before and was very impressed with your work. You are a very talented young lady and keep up your passion.
Persistence is the key to accomplishing any goal or project. You exhibited good common sense in knowing when to stop and get away from the project for a length of time. I am intrigued by the current look it has. As always I am looking forward to the next viewing. Follow your heart in the pursuit of your creations. Doing that will always provide the satisfaction you are in search of.
I am so impressed how it turned out, excellent job. I also think repainting the Specialized S so it was crisp was a great idea. Definitely one of a kind.
It turned out really nice, the ink worked really well, good job. Now after all that work, time to check out Ride Wrap or another frame protection company for a wrap so you don't chip or rub into that beautiful paint job.
Ok I gushed about the paint last episode so I don’t want to be redundant. But I never would have thought I would be giving thanks for your sponsors?? WT!?? I have a teen girl. She’s self taught on procreate. It’s insane what she can do. But I know she wants to create her own brushes etc and other things . Thanks to you I have signed up for the free trial of Skill-share for my girl ; let’s see what I learn too. But yeah, a teen girl… so an Agency free box! Are you kidding me!? I clicked on you because I am obsessed with bikes .. and now you are anticipating the things that my favorite girl needs most! Crazy.
So cool!!! Keep up the creativity!! I keep isopropyl in a spray bottle, I wonder if using a smaller make-up spritzer bottle would help with the application and spread of the ink.
Seriously one of the nicest paint jobs I've ever seen and that includes ones by the 'pro's'. So much so that I felt compelled to leave a comment on a TH-cam video for the first time! Seriously well done, just wish that I had the patience and talent to do the same! ..... just needs some nice tan wall tyres to complete the look!🤭
Fantastic work! Watched both parts. I very much enjoyed the first part dealing with your creative process. Funny how it takes so much work to create harmonious and aesthetic randomness. That is one VERY cool bike. Kudos!
Excellent video, Elena! This was a super interesting project and the final result is really striking and individual. I like the thumbnails on both videos and how they show your progress with the paint job!
Stunning work and execution! It was cool to see your process. For what it's worth, I liked the wabi of the yellow streak in the first S. Regardless, top notch!
excuse my english I'm french, but I find it inspiring, I would like to try and do the same one day if I feel able to; anyway your work deserves attention and could be sold when you're easy with the process (good job for having rescued the S)
Absolutely stunning! This is one of the best bike paint jobs ever! The super bloom complementary color scheme is flawless. I respect that you have a story to tell from inspiration to execution. Respraying the head tube S logo was the right choice. For me, I would like to see the paint scheme applied to the stem just because I want more and some gold bolts from Better Bolts to further enhance and carry over. I'll try and find the video of a Specialized Crux painted by a Japanese artist that you may like.
It would be really cool to do some matching painted components like the stem. Maybe in the future! Are you talking about the Aethos Kosuke Masuda painted? If so, I agree that paint job is stunning.
Stunning and creative technique/paint scheme ! Thank for sharing your process and patience as well. Nerdy question though - the frame is designed to flex slightly at the seat tube junction. Is the paint flexible enough to accomodate this or is it a non issue?
Final product looks soooo amazing Elena! (Now you need to do a matching helmet 😋...kidding). This definitely looked like a lot of work so i am glad it paid off. I am not familiar with the alcohol inks so thanks for showing the whole process/pros/cons. ❤👍
Designing with a computer / tablet definitely makes some things easier, but designing the old fashioned way is nice as well. I sketch things out with paper and pen all the time.
Thanks! I think it would've created a slightly different effect I think since the high pressure air creates more uniform small, thin drips in all directions but it would be cool to test. In the end, I think it was worth the arm fatigue lol.
@@elenamakes maybe I’ll give painting one of my old $100 MTB’s a try this winter. Seems super fun, and maybe I’ll get the courage to paint a more expensive bike afterwards!
Super nice, good job not giving up. Crazy cool art piece and works very well with the black rims etc. Maybe get a chain guard not mess the nice paint Job though 🤟🏻
I guess you have some experience in painting cause I wasn't able to even paint black an old cycle for my brother... Maybe the painting quality / the gun is the solution. I don't know cause I don't have the knowledge but OMG the bike is stunning, it came from an average generic colour frame to a high end custom colour frame. I LOVE IT. I wanna do it as well
I think that would've been cool too. I think if I wanted it to look like watercolors further, heavily dousing the inks with isopropyl alcohol as a final step would've been the move. Maybe something to try in the future!
The paint turned out beautiful, the frame looks super cool. Yeah the spray pattern on your gun was a little tight and heavy, plus your hand speed for that setting was a tad too slow, but hey you live and ya learn. Chalk it up as experience for next time 😊
I love the frame, it came out so awesome. Thank you for sharing the process and your thought process and talent. I’m considering painting one of my own frames after being inspired by your post. One question, I know cars use a ceramic coating applied over the clear coat. Would That be something useful to apply to a gravel bike to deter rock chips ?
Thanks! I believe most people who want an extra layer of protection for their bike use something like RideWrap. Also, if you're going to paint your own bike I'd recommend the channel ETOE designs, he's a pro painter who goes over prep and process for painting.

That's not a paint job, it's a work of art. BEAUTIFUL.
Holy Moly! That is one of the best looking paint jobs I've seen in a while, including conception, prep, basically everything! Big kudos!
Thank you! 😊

You’re so welcome! I’m it inspired you and best of luck on your paint job :)
GORGEOUS! The gold paint adds such depth and dynamic energy to the look. And that gold chain really does tie it all together at the end ;)
Why thank ya ✨💛
That steed looks 😍 so AWESOME, BEAUTIFUL & GORGEOUS…I just LOVE it. 😍
That looks awesome! It is nice to know there is someone else out there who loves woodworking and cycling with equal passion!
Thanks! I feel like that passion overlap is more common than you'd think.
@@elenamakes & @johnlowell7174
Me too! It's guitar building and cycling for me😁
Sick ❤❤❤
Your creative thought process and patience itself was mind blowing, and the end result is 😍!
Thanks! I love a good creative puzzle.

Agency is working great. Your skin is so pretty
Thanks :)

That turned out amazing, really captures the chaotic beauty in nature. Looking forward to seeing that bike on some adventures.
Elena, your work's beautiful. So are you! Hi From Réunion Island.
piece of art in a unique way
WOW....that looks superb!! You've wonderful vision to even conjure up that paint scheme and design. Truly unique.

Ooommmggg I'm obsessed with this!!!! 😍😍😍 You absolutely crushed it!!!!
The bike looks great! I'm really loving the bike videos you make in addition to the woodworking ones! 😊
Thank you, and glad to hear it :) I really do enjoy making both.

Glad you enjoyed the full process :)
I love the work you did with the design!!
Wow who nice is this. It is a really nice work!
Looks absolutely stunning Elena, well done 😍😃
Awesome! Never thought I'd like Purple this much! Enjoyed this project, keep it up!
I am partial to purple.
Beautiful
Excellent video, Elena! This was a super interesting project and the final result is really striking and individual. I like the thumbnails on both videos and how they show your progress with the paint job!
The paint job came out AWESOME!! It's definitely unique to the point where no one else could mistake it for their own. Great job 👍
Thank you! It’s definitely very unique ☺️
Stunning work and execution! It was cool to see your process. For what it's worth, I liked the wabi of the yellow streak in the first S.
Regardless, top notch!
Thats sick elena!
Wow! That's amazing! I think you really accomplished your goal of bringing a natural floral super bloom to your bike!
Holy moly what a bike. I love it. The black parts just accentuate the colorful frame, great job.
Thanks 😊 I think so too.
If I ever paint a bike I think I have to steal your method (with my own colors). The alcohol ink looks so good and has a lot of organic variety.
Feel free to steal the method :) alcohol inks are very cheap and can be found at most craft stores.
Looks great will done my friend 😊
You have done an phenomenal job on that frame Elena, have a great week, take care 😊
Much appreciated! I’m stoked on it.
I trusted the process and it did NOT disappoint! ✨
She's a beaut ain't she 😊
wow! so beautiful! congratulations elena! ☺
Great design and great bike!
Please talk about your aquarium and office setup?
I have an older video on setting up that planted tank :)
That looks great and a really nice bike as a run-around 👍
Thanks, I'm very happy with the end result 🙂

Good morning 🌅, very nice job,
I really want to do a custom paint job on my bike frame. This looks awesome and super unique
This looks fantastic and well work all the effort to create it - I hope you have a Sper first ride once its fully set up

Very creative, very bold, and very brave! Congratulations, it turned out amazing!
Thank you! :)
Looks cool that paint job! Well done
Excellent paint job
Thank you!
Looks cool.
Stunning and creative technique/paint scheme ! Thank for sharing your process and patience as well. Nerdy question though - the frame is designed to flex slightly at the seat tube junction. Is the paint flexible enough to accomodate this or is it a non issue?
Thanks :) Yep, the primer/color/clear I used is what professional bike painters use and is fine with a bit of frame flex.
That's gorgeous! Great job! 🙂
I have a black one, Sirrus 6.0 👌
Love it!
Maybe you could put a clear sticker on it to protect the paint from stone chips, great work!

Amazing, just AMAZING!!!!!!
haha thanks! Pretty stoked on it.
Beautyfull work!!🎉
Really cool paint job. I loved the "rust" looking logo but I think the clean re-do was better.
Yeah I think it ended up being the right call.
Love the idea and your inspiration 😮 so far I am not able to design with computer; all my works are purely manual 😢
Designing with a computer / tablet definitely makes some things easier, but designing the old fashioned way is nice as well. I sketch things out with paper and pen all the time.
Congrats the final result is awesome 👏
Morning from Hawaii that was a good video
this looks amazing, i wonder if using a air hose to control the flow of the ink would have saved your arms and been able to get the same result?
Thanks! I think it would've created a slightly different effect I think since the high pressure air creates more uniform small, thin drips in all directions but it would be cool to test.
In the end, I think it was worth the arm fatigue lol.
What a stunning paint job 🤩
Thanks so much 😊
Good job❤️👍👍👍
That turned out pretty nice!!! I was thinking hydro dip at first but I am liking what you did 🎉👌
Appreciate it! It does look a bit similar to the hydro dip effect.
First bike that I find the golden chain looks good on.
Amazing idea, beautifully executed. I'm jealous!
Absolutely stunning!
Thanks 😁
Wow that’s incredible. Amazing work!
Thank you so much :)
Looks great! And much better than the new Specialized Crux Limited Edition paint job.
The gold flake and the gold chain looks soooooooo good

Super nice, good job not giving up. Crazy cool art piece and works very well with the black rims etc. Maybe get a chain guard not mess the nice paint Job though 🤟🏻
Yeah, I think I'll get a clear guard for a bit of protection.
Great work! I think it was Pixar that said to focus on the journey, rather than the destination :)

It’s beautiful!!
Nice job. I would have used the alcohol inks on the primer. I think it would have been closer to the water color effect. Just Subscribed!!
I think that would've been cool too. I think if I wanted it to look like watercolors further, heavily dousing the inks with isopropyl alcohol as a final step would've been the move. Maybe something to try in the future!
It looks awesome! I would have done the rims white :)
