People heads up for you guys if you're changing the wheel bearings at this time or having impressed in and out at a local shop make sure that he puts a spacer back in between the bearings they didn't do it at my local shop and a seven sets of wheel bearings later we took it to another shop finally figured out that he had left the spacers out needless to say cost me thousands of dollars over to $6 shims
Near the Atlantic coast I have 16 years oxidation on gls 3 door. Best mechanic video - amps me up. My worry is rust will impede lower arm removal. Waiting for a chance to go at it. Hey you got any more vids?
If the axle has a ring with teeth on it then the abs sensor must read the axle, if it reads a tone ring on the side of the bearing, the side of the bearing that it reads is flat and usually will be a darker color, and not all metal, from what I can see if I look up parts for a 2006 spectra, it looks like there is a tone ring on the axle itself, you should be able to look where the abs sensor is seated to see if its reading the axle or bearing.
I had to grind off the vertical bolt on the LCA because the bushing sleeve rusted to the bolt. I bought a replacement but I can’t get it to catch when reinstalling. Any tricks to get it snug up again?
vertical bolt did that to me. I read your comment and I began all over took off my work. I place the control arm back in. started with the vertical bolt caught some thread and a wiggle then caught thread on the horizontal. i just had a jack up with the knuckle, cv axle, tie rods to boot, but i could see & glad i went new (cheap). Overall this work was easier than pressing out a rusty ball joint.
Great video man. I just wish the bearings didn't have to be pressed in and out
Excellent video,,,,I have to replace a wheel bearing on the same car,, very helpful instructions...
Thank you!

5 years from now I will still be enjoying the control arm replacement lesson I got here and went and did it.
How important is tbat little sleeve on the install of the lower control arm? I might have missed that.
Lost your torque wrench ?
Is it dangerous to re-use the old hub? People recommend using a new one. Mine is free rust and 154 K miles only.
Excellent video! What I liked was he was straight to the point with no joking around! 🫡
Can the 2002 Elantra lower control arm be changed without a car lift? ( using only jack and jack stands )
Yes
I loved this video😍😍
I wish you have circlip remover bro👍👍
Does the bearing you put in have to be specifically for abs does it use a magnet on the back of the bearing
This particular vehicle design did not have the abs reluctor on the bearing, the abs sensor gets its signal from the axle
@@FixItPhillip I am working on my way Kia Spectra 2006
