Hey, thanks for covering us! It’s the first time we’re seeing your TH-cam channel, so it's great to meet you. Since this is your first experience with us, we wanted to share some more insight on what we're all about and provide some thoughts on how we think about case design.
Our focus is designing products that combine a super sleek, minimalist aesthetic with extreme attention to detail on the little things that make a product really great to use. In our opinion, these days most cases have one too many (loud) logos and a few too many grooves, bumps, lines, and other superfluous aesthetic flourishes. We prefer to keep things simple and sleek, but also add our own unique twist where possible (so it was great to see that you liked the subtle design next to the camera cutout on Synthesis). We take the same approach towards the functionality of our products, and we often hear from customers that after using our products for a while they experience this "oh wow" moment where they realize just how much thought went into crafting what seems on the surface like a simple product.
And that's a nice segue into some of our other product-specific thoughts:
So first up: Veil. Definitely our most polarizing product, and we think it's often misunderstood. The reason we continue to make it is because there's a subset of our customer base that absolutely loves it. You may or may not know this, but over 10 years ago, we were one of the first - if not the first - case manufacturer to popularize super thin iPhone cases. Veil is designed specifically for people who want to preserve the slim form of their iPhone and just get a little scratch and bump protection. Nothing more, nothing less. So it definitely isn't for everyone - especially not a case aficionado like yourself - but in our experience the ones who love it, REALLY love it. And so we continue to make it for them.
On to Sheath. Glad you appreciated the fit! One big pet peeve of ours is how so many cases on the market don't actually fit snugly on the iPhone (including Apple's own cases. Sorry Apple!) This is actually a pretty serious problem. We've seen countless horror stories with other cases where a dropped phone, upon impact, will pop out of a case slightly because the fit wasn't snug enough. We design our cases to feel like a custom fit glove. An incredible amount of thought, engineering, and testing went into crafting a structure and choosing the right materials to create a case that cradles your iPhone very snugly and precisely. This is especially significant considering that Sheath is structurally a one-piece case. Most cases that are primarily one material (as opposed to two materials fused together) will be relatively floppier and looser fitting around the sides. Our design team wanted to ensure that we could find a solution that would provide a rigid structure and a tight fit for Sheath. Better for protection and better for in-hand feel. That's partly what makes the Sheath just feel so solid when it's on your phone. (Oh, and also, that squeaking sound you highlighted in your video is really just the soft material rubbing up against the bare metal on the iPhone. You'll find that exact same sound with Apple's own FineWoven cases as well.)
As for button feel, one important thing to note is that, as alluded to above, we implemented a stiffer material this year to provide a snugger fit. One effect of this material is that our buttons will break-in over time. You'll find that as you use the case more, the buttons become increasingly more tactile. Unless you're changing cases every day (which you might actually be doing, haha!), the buttons should be very tactile and easy to use. This applies to the buttons on Synthesis as well, since the sides of Synthesis are manufactured from the same polymer as Sheath. And having said all that, the buttons even out of the box should absolutely not be hard to press at all. They may feel different than cases where the button is a separate piece, but they should be very easy to press.
Hope this insight was interesting to you! Thanks again for covering our products. Definitely feel free to reach out to us directly at press@caudabe.com if you ever have any questions. Happy to share our thoughts!

Hey Caudabe, wow that’s alot to read but I did read all of it. I appreciate your insight. Even though I understand why you would continue the Veil if it’s selling well, respectfully, I am shocked that it is selling that well, it’s so thin, once you drop it, there’s nothing it will and can do. On your website it says it will protect against minor bumps, imo you should leave that part out. As a business owner myself, I know that even though the veil may weigh nothing and feels flimsy, the molding cost alone are proof that it’s moving money. And I do have to mention the fact that even though it feels like nothing, and I would never use it, the fit is awesome on the veil.
The squeeking sound issue just highlights how difficult it is to remove from the phone, there’s brands out there that have a tight fit but also can be easy to remove, I am not trying to pretend I know the ins and outs of designing these (because I don’t) but there must be a way to balance it. This is always very controversial so I just mention it for the ones that care, like me. But I agree, there must be a balance, the easier it is to remove, the more risk of what you described when it falls. If there’s a market for the very tight fit, by all means keep doing what you’re doing! I am not trying to be a “hater”, just throwing my opinion out there!
Let me close by saying that I wish more companies would take the time to do what you’re doing right now. And by all means, send me some cases for the next iphone, as I stated in the video, most change each year anyway. But if nothing changes about the fit, I will keep telling people what I think. Thanks!

@@Unfilterdenjoyed your video and appreciate your thoughts on cases since we customers don’t have an option to try the case out before we purchase it. That’s probably the most frustrating part of buying cases. But im addicted to cases so I have been burned a couple of times. I appreciate your feedback in helping us make the right decision about purchasing a case as I mentioned above. I think caudabe makes nice products and you can see the work they have put into theses cases. I had a caudabe sheath for my 12 pro max and the case was not good at all in my opinion definitely not a good experience but after watching a lot of TH-cam videos about how great the sheath and synthesis are i decided to purchase one this year I purchased the sheath in black to go with my natural titanium iPhone 15 pro. And I have to say the changes caudabe have made over older versions are really amazing to be honest. The sheath has a very nice micro fibre lining on the inside and I think it gives the case a more premium feel and that’s amazing. I like the sheath very much but I have to agree completely with you the buttons are just not good. Very hard to press right out of the box. I understand why they are like that and material used is definitely stiffer. But I have become spoiled with floating buttons other manufacturers have produced and in my opinion every case should have floating buttons now. I don’t know if the buttons get better I will certainly look into that. I hope they do get a lot better. I like to change my cases all the time so I agree with you there needs to be some tightness with the fit of the case but also not so tight so it doesn’t come off easy. It is a balance act that manufacturers have to take. Anyway sorry for the long comment. Look forward to your new videos. 🙏🏻

The very tight fit is one of the best things about these cases! Makes it feel like it’s part of the phone. And if you want to remove it, don’t start at the top - start at the bottom. Way easier to remove. Insert into the top, remove from the bottom.
I have been using Caudabe ever since the iPhone 6 and whenever I tried another brand I kept coming back to Caudabe. Even Spigen gets loose after a few months and the phone moves around in the case. Caudabe never has this problem - and when I once did have this problem, Caudabe Support sent me a replacement no questions asked and that one was perfect!
The Sheath is my all time favorite. But I remember I used to always have the Veil cause it was so paper-thin. 👍

I just tried Caudabe cases for the first time this year too after seeing them mentioned constantly. I have to say, I think you shortchanged the Sheath because I've had it on since launch day and I love it. The fit is better than any case I've tried and the case gives me just enough grip. I may have to try the Synthesis after seeing your review, but I can't see it topping the Sheath.

  • @GrayRed321

You deserve way more subscribers for this production quality. Nice to see you cover Caudabe. Love their cases, they're popular for a reason. Got a Sheath for my 15 Pro Max and it’s my third year with it. The entire family has either the Sheath or Synthesis now. I used to be a multiple case guy and still try some others every now and then, but just keep coming back to the Sheath. For me, it’s a combo of the minimalist styling, the texture which I love, the fit. Other brands just don't match it in my opinion, but I guess that's why it's great to have choices. Not sure why you had issues removing it. Comes off pretty easy for me. Takes a little bit of effort which is a good thing in my book since it means the case is on securely, but doesn't take nearly as much effort as as what appears in the video. Keep up the good work. - Gary

I’ve been using the Synthesis on my 15 Pro Max for just a few days and it’s held up great with no regrets. There’s so many subtle material and functional changes you pointed out too that make it a joy to hold and use.
I used to come from the Caudabe Sheath when I had a 12 Pro, and decided to go with the Synthesis this time. It’s really a great minimal case with good grip, drop protection without being overly bulky and love the magnet strength. I think it’s way more worth than a Mous or Casetify case imo!!
And great honest review too 🎉
