You spent more money on the fiberglass repair than just buying a new flashlight, but the knowledge gained by all of us on how to do the repair is priceless, i'm repairing aircraft parts made of plastic, and your video is priceless....
That's a funny comment - I don't even use that flashlight any more due to battery type and i bought some traditional style LED with D batteries that have a long shine. I have moved on to Bondo and plastic welding but fiberglass still has its place.
It doesn’t matter if it cost effective or not . It’s all about the satisfaction of fixing things. It was helpful to me because I wanted to know if I could use fiberglass on plastic or not.
I wonder if this will work on my truck dash which is made of plastic. It's got a hairline crack and I want to just put a layer of fiberglass on the underside of it to strengthen it from cracking more. Any thoughts?
Most of those plastic containers are made from thermoplastics like pet or hdpe. A simple plastic weld would have fixed you up. All you need is a patch of the same kind of plastic, a soldering iron, and a piece of steel to press it after you melt it.
You know I tried that on a radiator and I think I used I think I don't remember what I used for the weld thing some guys say you can use a zip ties not yeah zip ties out but anyway I didn't work very well but I should try it again cuz I was a radiator which is different than a plastic container and in addition I have another plastic container that I broke that I thought about working on and so I could do that I should try that
I agree with you, but there are still many problems. One could study hard and in theory, use a particular method for each type. But the beauty of fiberglass is it will repair many types. In fact, maybe all rigid, and semi-rigid.
I have watched hundreds of hundred of video on what I need to know, fix, and when to say when . Please don't hate... I keep coming back to UTube. Just like I do for so an reason We all just want this crap we bought. To work just like the comereal promised
I greatly appreciate when a TH-camr posts helpful videos. However, endless, unnecessary babbling like you started the video with doesn’t help anyone, rather it just wastes everybody’s time. Then, halfway through, your audio all but disappears. I am only able to access TH-cam from my iPad temporarily and I flat couldn’t hear you at all. I wish you much success with your future videos and hope that you learn from your past mistakes and maybe review your videos yourself before posting them to ensure a better result. Good luck and stay safe.
