  • This is one of the most requested desserts by my friends and family, with a delicate rose water and orange blossom flavour and a custard like consistency. It can be served hot or cold and must be topped with ahtar (sugar syrup) sauce on top. I will be putting up a video with that recipe soon, so subscribe so you don't miss out.
This is a family recipe for making knefah that uses milk and cream in place of the traditional cheese. It is a tasty, quick, cheap and easy-to-make recipe.
It is made with milk, cornflakes, cream and semolina and can be served hot or cold. Give it a try and let me know how it works out for you.
    Ingredients
    1lt whole full cream milk
    600 ml thickened cream
    1 cup fine semolina
    1/3 cup cornflour (sifted)
1 cup white sugar or caster sugar
    3 tablespoons rose water
    2 tablespoons orange blossom
    2 cups corn flakes
    1/4 cup pistachios
A sprinkle of rose petals for decoration (optional)
This quantity above will fill about 1 pan as in the video. You can very easily scale it up or down. I have made some in a smaller dish or have also served it up in individual dessert cups or dishes.
*I had to remove the soundtrack due to the music playing in the background. Turn on the subtitles to read what I am saying.

Does this need to be baked?

Hi@@TrangNguyen-op6np, no it doesn't. I don't usually bake it if I put the in the dessert cups. However I do bake it when using the large pans. It works to create a firmer texture. Try both ways and let me know which you prefer.
      Cheers,
      Jenny
