How does it compare to the Stealth 700 Gen 3? Particularly volume wise on the PS5. I've been disappointed by quite a few headsets that on paper were great but had too low of volume on the PS5.
Are you sure it doesn't control sound on PS5? Have you tried USB C & the USB A adapter connection? Have you configured in the PS5 settings menu? I would like to know, because it will be a deal-breaker for me if the volume wheel doesn't work on PS5.

After about 2 weeks of usage, I have to say that this is so far the best gaming headset I've ever used. It's difficult for me to pick things that I dont like except for the average Mic and occasionally sound pops when using 2.4ghz mode. I have a large head and wearing glasses but I can wear these for hours at work without any fatigue. Fact that they can switch to bluetooth by flipping the switch, this is a game changer for me : when I am done working and need to head home, just flip the switch. Sound quality is superb for this price range if you like loud and punchy sound. Even the ANC isnt just a gimmick : this comes from someone who owned Bose QC Ultra headphones. Overall, I will suggest everyone picking these up just because how versatile it is. Most of gamers have dedicated mic these days so the average Mic quality shouldnt be an issue. I just hope AW can release a firmware update to fix the occasional sound pops in 2.4ghz mode. I will get a 2nd pair and that one will be in-house use only.
Any help with Audeze Maxwell Sidetone hiss? It’s a lot worse than my A50X but at least it turns itself off when I mute the mic. Would I be able to get a dedicated mic that can give me nice sidetone without having to wire up my Maxwells?

@@jamesstevens968 i've tried the nova pros, and although the mids and highs were phenomenal, the bass was really lacking. Even with EQ they sounded not worth 300 Euros imo.
Another great review as always! Now how about the Razer Kraken V4 Pro and I hope you rip them a new one for that ridiculous price tag. I’m mostly interested in the new designed TriForce Bio-Cellulose vs the titanium in the regular kraken or black sharks. I think razer drivers are pretty bad, I hope they made them better. They have haptic on your ears, so I’m guessing it didn’t fix their sloppy bass characteristics. I really enjoy the Asus Delta 2, I think they sound amazing for the price, and that LC3+ Bluetooth omg…yeah it’s not LDAC but it still sounds wonderful and I never have had any disconnects or anything, works flawless and that 2.4ghz dongle has to be the smallest around.
6:38 Hm, yes and no ? If you set your output in discord to chat, and your game output to the main within the game, you can then set both at their own respective volume, and then the scrollwheel on the headset will make both go up or down while keeping the ratio. But... you can already do that without two individual outputs, so a game/chat mix on device would still be nice to actually make the feature useful to most who don't want to Tab out of game to adjust things, or have various different friend of various volumes and they need to adjust on the fly all the time, or don't have a GoXLR, or a Deej etc. I have mixed feelings about that feature. It's usually one where I prefer having all, or nothing.
I've been looking at the Audeze Maxwell. How do you compare this headset to the Maxwell? From watching many of your other videos the Maxwell seems to have set the bar for a wireless headset for gaming but also music enjoyers.
@@jlacosse3073 I can speak from experience, that a phew months after the crackling in the drivers start, they will die. Had to return 2 pairs that either broke in a span between 5-10 months. I discovered, that the drivers got a dent in them, maybe from manufacturing. Getting the Asus Rog Delta 2 now, since i had to return my Turtle beach stealth pro because of a common software issue, were the batteries won't charge also xD. My old (but now pretty disgusting tbh) Hyper x Cloud Alpha still work flawless. I'm flabbergasted with how little build quality you get for such a high price. I really hope the Deltas won't disappoint me, since i really loved the audio quality of the Maxwells.
I’ve had the maxwells for a week. They’ve been great for gaming. In Warzone for example the footsteps and gunshots have been so crisp and so much more noticeable they are almost paranoia inducing.
The Maxwells are like having your head in a vice. The most uncomfortable headset I've ever owned and I've owned dozens. Not only are the drivers notoriously heavy, but they also have huge batteries and unnecessary metal parts. Metal is nice, but I don't think headphones that already have heavier components should ever be made of metal because high quality plastic is strong, light and durable. People should take care of their headphones instead of being slobs, throwing them around and breaking them. They sound great, but what's the point if you can't sit down for 2 hours and watch a movie without feeling constant discomfort? The stiff faux leather headband doesn't help either, it's ridiculously bad and it's a perfect example of form over function. It looks cool, but it feels exactly the way it looks, like a stiff piece of leather pressing on the top of your head. They even added some padding on the plastic (aluminum?) headband, but not on the part that actually touches your scalp. What the fuck? The Maxwells were simply not designed with comfort in mind.
it would be nice if they had a way to test headsets, like how bestbuy has models out, they dont have any recent ones but still would be nice, i have weird shaped ears and i find it hard to fit them inside most ear pads, and i would like a way to test that before i buy and have to return a product, i found hyperx to be the best fit for me, i love the cloud 3, cloud core wireless, and recently put wicked cushion oval pads on my steel series to make them fit better and now i finally feel like i can use them.
Joe can you do a review of the razer kraken v4 pro wireless it has some kind of hub but i dont know if its more for pc you can use it for ps5 but i dont know if you still get all the bells and whistles for console they haven't on amazon i was going to order it currently using the nova pro wireless whats your opinion thanks
oh god that mic quality should be illegal at the price, my nova 5x is much better at a lower price and amazing noise cancellation 😅 great review as usual I enjoy them a lot even tho im probably not buying a headset anytime soon xD😊
I need these headsets to have a 3.5mm so I can swap from xlr/mixers and wireless. Or someone make a dongle with 3.5mm zero latency for us goxlr etc users seems they missed the mark on a few things at the price point.
70 hours is kinda low now in 2024, wish it had 100 or smth, then i would consider it. Also plush texture earcups is must, thexe would sweat like insane, sonder will there be custom ones
To any headset company reading this: You could have the best high-end planar magnetic drivers, over the top spatial 3D audio and a 500h battery life on a single charge, but if the microphone sounds like a toy, i will not buy it. You guys are making head-SETS - that means it is a two-part affair. The problem is that you always focus on the headphone part and design of the shell, but completly ignore the microphone quality. We want premium audio in BOTH directions. Input and Output.
20:03 The bass isn't THAT bad with ANC on. I have the HD 650s from Sennheiser and they have less bass than that and still sound wonderful. I would say that is perfectly fine for me. I think it's just because you're used to that other preset, which has a LOT of bass.
I’m not even looking into getting a headset (Maxwell for over a year now) but still love the videos. You have a way of not speaking down to your audience but still put out that you know your stuff. Speaking of Maxwell, you mentioned this headset is good with music. How would you compare this to the Maxwells in terms of that?
Dell has some decent peripherals right now. However, they are plagued by stupid software. Alienware Command Center is ridiculously convoluted and needs a complete revamp. While it is not as intrusive as ASUS, the software is riddled with two many unnecessary things. For example, I don't need a custom keyboard color profile for each PC game release. Those days are long gone.
I liked Alienware.. I hate dell.... so I have mixed feelings. Also I am not a big fan of headsets that seal. I don't like the vacuum effect and it can cause me to hear my heartbeat. I am waiting for Fractal design headset.
Have you try the Schiit Gunnr?
Do you still recommend Audeze maxwell in 2024?
Is the 2.4G connection stable? I once had last generation 720H, the connection break up randomly, almost twice per hour.
Updated, mentioned in 21:15, I'll buy it
Will you review new razer kraken v4 pro? Specially interested about gaming experience on consoles.
6:38
Hm, yes and no ?
Currently returning my maxwells. Not because of sound quality but it's a bit finicky, lot of disconnects and crackling sounds.
@jlacosse3073 same. My sidetone is so busted too. I really need sidetone too.
it would be nice if they had a way to test headsets, like how bestbuy has models out, they dont have any recent ones but still would be nice, i have weird shaped ears and i find it hard to fit them inside most ear pads, and i would like a way to test that before i buy and have to return a product, i found hyperx to be the best fit for me, i love the cloud 3, cloud core wireless, and recently put wicked cushion oval pads on my steel series to make them fit better and now i finally feel like i can use them.
I know it's not a headset, but are you going to review the Schiit Gunnr?
Do you plan on reviewing the razer kraken v4 pro? Nice review!
@@Syveran777 yes I do! I have a bunch of reviews dropping as I can finish testing/filming, and the Kraken v4 is one of them.
@@GadgetryTech Good to hear! I love hearing your opinions!
They have it in store at Best Buy.
I'll do my best to cover it!
Yup! I've been working on it
Ahhh the good ole Alienware, that rivaled falcon northwest back before Dell bought and mass produced garb. -__-
Appreciate yuh brutha
oh god that mic quality should be illegal at the price, my nova 5x is much better at a lower price and amazing noise cancellation 😅 great review as usual I enjoy them a lot even tho im probably not buying a headset anytime soon xD😊
Whats ur No1 for fps games atm?
How’s the comfort with glasses please 🙏
I need these headsets to have a 3.5mm so I can swap from xlr/mixers and wireless.
Or someone make a dongle with 3.5mm zero latency for us goxlr etc users
seems they missed the mark on a few things at the price point.
What headset stand is that?
Is this headset better than the Asus Rog Delta 2 wireless?
Cheers dude great video
Thanks!
What is your first choice for FPS games?
Someone knows the background song ID?
Will these work on my Xbox 1 ?
Are we going to see a review on the schiit gunnr?
Working tirelessly on it! Super excited for this one
@@GadgetryTech i look forward to that review. Are you going to compare it to the fulla e and hel 2+?
Alienware hi fi drivers are actually pretty top tier
Maxwell's is the one still
Ofc it depends on your prefs, but for me Maxwells is the one.
What game is thus? Good review!
Can we do some apex legends footsteps test .i feel like apex audio is great way to test headset because of how complex apex audio is
70 hours is kinda low now in 2024, wish it had 100 or smth, then i would consider it. Also plush texture earcups is must, thexe would sweat like insane, sonder will there be custom ones
Where is the kracken v4 pro review?!
Check out the xenns mangird tea pro please!
love the review hate the mic on the headset, for that price i cant justify buying this at all.
We are not worthy of your reviews
And the best part is that I’m not even in the market for gaming headphones 😂
The reviews are ridiculously well detailed and the EQ tweaks he suggests are icing on a very delicious cake.
Real asf
Idk about you but I'm worthy. I contribute to his watch time minutes. 😂
20:03 The bass isn't THAT bad with ANC on. I have the HD 650s from Sennheiser and they have less bass than that and still sound wonderful. I would say that is perfectly fine for me. I think it's just because you're used to that other preset, which has a LOT of bass.
OKKKKKK now they look niceeeee
this or rog delta 2?
Wait so this won’t work on Xbox?
This or Maxwell for Gaming >Music > occasional Movie.
Maxwell
I'm not really interested in headseats that have pleather pads. Give me cloth (preferred) or real leather.
I've been buying alienware's for the last 18 years and they're great. And when I sell them I always get more than your homemade PC. 🤷
Do you have any issues with yours? My sidetone is so busted... I hate it.
I get hiss with sidetone which is disappointing. That’s the only issue I’ve had with it and I’ve owned the headset for over a year
Better than jbl 910x???
Was considering it until I heard the mic test 😅
Dell has some decent peripherals right now. However, they are plagued by stupid software. Alienware Command Center is ridiculously convoluted and needs a complete revamp. While it is not as intrusive as ASUS, the software is riddled with two many unnecessary things. For example, I don't need a custom keyboard color profile for each PC game release. Those days are long gone.
Alienware pc's are good.
If you buy them 70% off on ebay but still good.
Insane jaw line
😅
Watching review after I buy it 😅
No dock at that price? Damn.
I liked Alienware.. I hate dell.... so I have mixed feelings. Also I am not a big fan of headsets that seal. I don't like the vacuum effect and it can cause me to hear my heartbeat.
I am waiting for Fractal design headset. Looks very comfy
of course amazing review as always !
edit: One side note - playing new silent hill 2 remake on ps5 with pulse 3d is surprisingly great. it sounds kinda insane. check that game out!
Thought ppl usually didn't like Alienware. Those prebuilt pcs are a yikes. check gamersnexus for details.
alienware died with dell is what i here online
wtf my reoly disappeared
@@ACE112ACE112 what replay? maybe it will appear after some time ?
intro beats kinda loud sir
30 minutes on an Alienware headset...I think we need some new headsets
