As good as the series is.... The extras are unbelievably great.... In my opinion the greatest interviews of all time.... Especially Todd Rivers..... Doesn't get any better than this.... Ever... Barely 5 foot and wears lifts.. End of story 😂😂 And his "need i say more" story is the greatest thing in television. End of.
Absolute genius. It really is. Nailed the quirky vibe, comedy mix to an absolute tee. The early/mid 00s had some damn fine British comedy minds, killer that you don't fully appreciate what's around until it's gone. Don't think the world is tuned that way now to enable a repeat of it. * Yeah, I know the players are still around but, well, c'mon, as great as they are they're not in that particular zeitgeist.
Maybe I just watched them around the same time, but Darkplace feels Twin Peaks-ish. Either the quirkiness and the very light supernatural. I could see it being a show they watch after Invitation to Love. I could also imagine that Dean is a vessel of BOB
0:31 Identical to the tradition most Kiwi college students observe at least once a semester...wobbling on down to the chippy stoned out of your tiny mind after losing rock paper scissors to see who goes for the group order.
At the risk of hilariously missing your point, Kiwis don't call a fish and chip shop a "chippy", that's a Brit thing. What Kiwis call "chippies", Brits call "crisps". Source: am Kiwi.
9:58, Love the fact that you can hear Garth Marenghi (author, dream weaver, visionary, plus actor) arguing "its MY PROJECT!" xD
Sanch's voice is amazing. Brings tears to my eyes watching this madness
"You and he were (PAUSE) buddies? Weren't you?
You can watch Garth Marenghi's Darkplace here twitter.com/8bc0d7c91e411e63d/status/824453874433941505
Plus whatever horrors he committed during the original filming that needed them all to be ADR’d in again later 🤣
One of the most underrated programmes of all time
The depth of the genius of this show boggles the mind ;D. So many levels of absurdity ;).

That noise Dagless' possessed friend makes before Garth whacks him with the shovel is disturbing

Ah beg yer.
You and him were......buddies weren't you....
This is my project
Angelo Badalementi and Darkplace - what a combination!
Maybe I just watched them around the same time, but Darkplace feels Twin Peaks-ish. Either the quirkiness and the very light supernatural. I could see it being a show they watch after Invitation to Love. I could also imagine that Dean is a vessel of BOB
Dean's awful jheri curl mullet thing in the test footage is way funnier.
"drinks ready we dont wana fuck about"
The storyboard make me laugh
that's Twin Peaks music, and the similar lighting..I mean the creators must have been fans of Twin Peaks
They put a chain on the vinegar 🤣🤣🤣

8:21 the audio has actually been unintentionally overdubbed with an argument going on in the background. Turn it up.
Yeeea!! Garth is arguing with someone! ha!
What's with the guy raising the gun in the background at 9.32? Creepy...
Maybe that was deans old agent
Garths*
Right!? I thought I was seeing things. Holy nipples...
9:30, was someone just shot in the head?
Ohhhh this was the audio lost in the pub during the "unfortunate altercation" ? Lol
What's up with track "bookhouse boys" from Twin Peaks playing
I'll get a mop
You have to watch samurai cop for more appreciation on this one hahaa
As a Scot I endorse this…..
HOLY SHIT THE STORYBOARD ART IS ADORABLE. Did Matt H draw them?
One of those jocks looked like Steve Carrelli from The Office
This soundtrack is very David Lynch. I'm pretty sure it's from Twin Peaks.
Yes! Angelo Badalamenti - Audrey's Dance
Wrong. It was based on melodies thought up of from Garth
That sounds like subtext to me...
Based on Melodie’s whistled by Garth! Must’ve inspired it of course …
I smiled laughed shit myself
yes
Someone please tell me what that introduction song is.
Badalamenti twin peaks
jesus the storyboards are so silly and child like 🤣🤣🤣🤣
