    This is a top-tier design, in my opinion, and exactly what I think I'm going to do, at least for now. I already started building a huge miter saw station but funding became a "stop-block" lol. This, though, will work. I really like the angle setter. That could really make a difference for me.

    The video recoding and clarity is one of the best on TH-cam bar none. I appreciate the fact you don't yammer on and on like so many others, they love their own voices. You cover a ton of ground and answer many questions with the straight forward instruction. Great video, great jig with great presentation and very professional. Definitely a 5 out of 5 star rating.

    This jig seems so simple and full of features that everyone would be using but this the first time I have ever seen it for a miter saw. I totally agree that moving the blade for angle cuts should be the last option, this is far better to achieve accuracy. Great job.

    • @gregorylondos534
      @gregorylondos534 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      B Vz ... Unless you cut into the fence at an angle you can “not’ make a Compound miter cut...? The Auxiliary adjustable fence is only designed for miter cuts that I can see. This seems like a very Cool auxiliary table. Kinda like a “Sled” for a “table saw” but for a miter saw...

    • @fogsmart
      @fogsmart 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The base would need to be thick enough lest the jig became two pieces barely joined at the end of the cut. I think this jig works best with a none slider. I do like the zero clearance aspect the jig allows. I’ve made a smaller version quickly mountable for small work as mitre saws are extremely dangerous for small-piece cutting.

    Hands down, this is one of the absolute best shop jigs I have ever seen. This is going to be a game changer for me. I think to make installation of the T tracks easier, rather than cutting them short of the miter saw blade, and trying to line them up perfectly, I will just install a long piece of T track, and let the saw blade cut the appropriate slot. Soft aluminum will not harm a woodworking blade.

    I love this build. The only thing I would add would be indexing blocks under the jig to go up against the sides of the miter saw. That would make it pop on and off super easy if you need to cut large stock. Also a set of toggle latch clamps would eliminate needing screws and inserts to secure it.

    Well you beat the system my man, this is the only thing you will need for miter saw, 0 clearance insert, extended fence with stop-block, adjustable angle jig, it has everything. It's really awesome as you don't need miter saw at all, if you make the stand for plain regular circular saw with few springs and hinges (I saw a video of that somewhere on yt, if I find it I can post it in edit) you can have a miter saw for the cost of circular saw, few T-tracks, screws and a bit of wood. This is amazing

    I will make one of these for a permanent jig. I really see the utility of this jig! Just a few days ago, I needed to cut returns on some moulding -- a lot of them -- and I did not want to be changing from a 90 to 45 degree position, back and forth, repeatedly. Or use two saws. Your jig is perfect, wish I'd seen it.
    ( To get thru the job, I made a temporary and very crude jig by using a 45 degree triangle of cutting board scrap, pinned to a sacrificial base and fence for the miter saw. Cut the straight cuts against the back fence, then moved the moulding out in front of the triangle and cut the next miter; return to the back fence for the straight cut; repeat. It worked for a one-time jig. Saved oodles of time and allowed use of small scraps that would have been waste. )

    DIY, that is a great jig. I had thrown one together that was similar but without the angle attachment. I have since made that upgrade to mine. I drilled a series of holes and installed some tapered locating pins to allow for precision repeat location of the common angles.
    Great job man, thumbs up!!!!!!!
