speaking of salt in baking, idk why all these recipies call for unsalted butter. salted butter has literally never steered me wrong! even in frosting! its always yummy!
im guessing its so you can control the amount of salt within a recipie? like if yr being precise bc baking can be finnicky. I'm still team salted butter though #salt4eva

as someone who also hates sticky hands from rolling out the cookies recently i learned u can use two spoons instead! like one spoon to scoop and then u sort of push it off with the other one! thanks fir the vid luv
If you do decide to get a kitchenaid stand mixer, I strongly recommend trying to find an older one as the newer mixers are not as sturdy and are much harder to repair and maintain

re: the cookies with extra vegetable oil, I put like maybe an 1/8th of a cup more than I needed when making brownies today and holy shit it was the easiest bowl to pan transfer I have ever had to do, shit was literally like play-doh, and it still tasted great!
I always just microwave butter for one minute with the power on 2. Once you learn how to adjust the power level on your microwave. You can literally conquer the world.
Baking advice that you can totally ignore, with the creamy butter and sugar it'll be easier to combine if you use a wooden spoon/ spatula, also don't forget to freeze your dough for at least an hour, your cookies ended up having pretty good shape but they'd be less sticky it you froze them and the butter and moisture would spread out more evenly in the oven

Ways I softened butter to bake with. Option 1 Put it on the counter away from where dog can reach. Then forget about the fact you were baking for about 3-4 hours. Option 2 Warm water to slightly above room temp and put a stick in ziploc bag then place the water

if you like cakey cookies, keep the egg whites! that's what i find makes more cakey cookies (which i prefer as well)
