I would show this to my students the 4 days before Christmas vacation, and would use it to help teach economics.

Thank you for researching and showing us the original house used in the film. Donna Reed was a great actress and in my much younger days I was a fan of the Donna Reed Show (Shelly Fabre!). She was also in one of my all time favorite films “They Were Expendable”.

I just looked it up and this home is in La Canada Flintridge, a very prestigious suburb in LA. It would be interesting to know how much it sold for back then because it’s very expensive now, that’s for sure! Such a beautiful piece of movie history!

No, parts of New York may have inspired the movie but none of it was filmed there. It was all filmed in California!

Shocked she had such a small headstone for someone so famous.

There are so many famous people there too. Natalie Wood is not far from her, Don Knotts is close by as well. I think they keep them flat in the middle probably for lawn maintenance.

Yes, Donna Reed's husband was a colonel. He is not there with her because he's buried at Arlington.✝️🇺🇲

I think he is at West Point with his wife after Donna Reed. Which is fine, but I wish they made some reference to it on her stone. Sad she is there alone too. :(

Yes she IS the heart of the movie. Nobody's said it that way but thats right on the money. How poignant.
