Great list and great idea to pick the ones off your shelves that you’re most excited about! You know I love Beartown, and The Nightingale and All the Light We Cannot See are both so good too. I hope I can read The Secret History this year too, it’s on my physical TBR as well! Same with Monte Cristo as you know haha. I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts on The Atlas Six, I wanted to love it but couldn’t really get into it 😬 Would love to read Brothers Karamazov as well. This is the year of big books, we can do it!!

@@LibrariesandLattes Yes, big book seem to be the thing this year, I'm seeing so many people with big books on their TBR as well.

Ooh, I want to-read The Minaturist, I had no idea there was a sequel too. What a gorgeous cover.
I have a game Marrying Mr Darcy (exactly what it sounds like), with a zombie expansion inspired by that book😄
Count of Monte Cristo is soooooo good! It looks long but you'll be swept up in it, and if you aren't that's probably a sign to dnf 😄

North and South is one of my favorites! I hope you enjoy it. And good for you for even thinking about going for Ulysses haha. It scares me. 😆

You’re going to have a great year of reading 😊 I also bought a lot second hand and some of the choices were perhaps questionable, but each time I read a premise again or think Why did I buy that? I can still see the reason, even if it’s not my top priority to read. I think that’s natural and nothing wrong with it 😊 I just wanted some more options on my shelves, and some might look less appealing now, but that’s only because I found more books throughout the year that Im even more excited about! So all good 😊 I think you’ll enjoy Beartown, and I don’t think it will be as difficult for you as Ove, the other ones I haven’t read 😅

The Miniaturist was my 2nd book of last year, still havn't gotten to the sequel either.
I haven't read "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" but I have read "Sense and Sensibility and sea monsters" and I really enjoyed it!
I lo♡e The Faithful and the Fallen! I've read all of Gwynne's books!
Technically Priory of the Orange Tree is a standalone. A Day of Fallen Night is a prequel but they are technically standalones. And I absolutely LO♡E them! I like to say Samantha Shannon is the closest thing I have to a god lol.
    North and South is great!
I have read all 3 of my Skaði books!
"Njord and Skaði" by Sheena McGrath was a good nonfiction that I learned from!
"Skaði's Saga" by Phil Tucker was a good norse inspired fantasy.
"Skaði Goddess of Winter's Hunt" by Skye Hellviolet was the worst thing I've read in over a year, It was so poorly made I suspect it may have been written by AI.
I decided to get Artemis first but I decided to get statues of Artemis and Skaði to put on top of my feminist bookcase.

I keep hearing that Gwynne is an excellent fantasy writer, so I'm looking forward to reading him. And oh no to Skaði goddes of winter's hunt, it's so annoying when books are disappointing. Pride and prejudice and sea monsters sounds like a fun ride ;)

Although I like Backman as an author, I wasn't a fan of Beartown. Moonstone (rather dated), Nightingale, and All the Light We Cannot See were all great! It looks like a nice selection of 25 for 2025.
