The difficulty cap on dance elements, pirouettes, and bar transitions really hurts the code. It gives gymnasts zero incentive to be innovative/original.
The difficulty cap was logically explained by Donatella. It's a point based system where risk is taken into account for rating. It's easier to fall from big release and tumbling than others. In particular, you don't have out of bound deduction if you stay center of the floor when you perform dance skills. If gymnasts are extremely talented, they can innovate on big skills. I would argue that FIG should allow gymnasts to get A & B skills named, as a genuine foundation for innovation for higher rating skills.
Completely agree. Judges want to see more difficulty but are stingy about giving the correct value on elements. Remove or raise the cap on the dance and transitions.
I’m fine with pirouettes and turns being capped. Otherwise we get a situation where gymnasts get into a race to crank up turns at full speed just to rack up more points hoping they don’t fall out early. 😂
@@mrparts again, if they want to see more difficulty but aren’t willing to reward the gymnasts that take the risks, the sport doesn’t evolve and we’re essentially back at the 10.0 system with how FIG is devaluing things left and right
Rooting for shilese to get any skills named. She's been trying for a long time now... triple L turn, stalder Nabieva, and the 1.5 twisting double tuck (the Heron)
I never imagined what the switch ring mount would look like, that’s so cool! Also I really feel for the Chinese girl that got the clear hip Nabieva devalued, it was barely even that piked and they really devalued it after the competition, is that even allowed?! All of these other skills are so cool and would be great in the CoP!
@@jorgesteingruber661 it’s also crazy how quickly the vanished from her routines, especially given how great they were ): literally transformed her uneven bar work when she debuted that routine
@@murasakino101 even the Chinese ring experts won't go for it, it's just too risky to throw your head back and lose sight of the beam while trying to mount it. And at E it's not worth the risk, especially when the much easier switch leap mount is already D (and could be connected into other elements)
Rebecca will definitely submit the triple twist during worlds 2025! She needs a vault skill in the code because she is the second best vaulter in the world.
Maybe Rebeca won’t participate in many competitions in the future or even make it to Los Angeles 2028. She has made it clear that she is uncertain about her retirement from gymnastics.
If you are a true gymnast, coach, parent or fan of the sport you love them all and hope to see them in person at practice and at Comps. Imagine if we keep elevating the tumble skills and the dance and artistry as well at the same time? I am a Coach, parent and #1 Fan of Team USA Gymnastics. I love this entire video. This helps us all to gain more knowledge about judging and code of points. 🎉
Unlike most posters in this channel I am a proponent for very strict judging. The trend of “naviebas” with piked hips and flat feet to clear the bar has to end. Only the truly exemplary execution of this skill should get the credit.
I really hope Suni gets the 1/1 Jaeger named after her, she would deserve it so much! I don‘t know how realistic it is to have it named at the next Olympics but she could perform it at a World Cup event where it‘s less competitive and less is at stake. Whatever she chooses to do in the end, and even if she retires by 2028, she has accomplished so much in her career and we‘re all so proud of her! If she wants to get it named after her, she‘ll do it because she wants to do it for herself!😊
My favs: Floor; double front full, triple L turn Vault; triple twisting yurchenko Bars; double front full dismount, jeager full Beam; back tucked sideway
That's unlikely. Think about the Def, it's rated at G and it doesn't matter if it's piked or layout, as long as you get the full twist around and catch it it's credited. This is despite the layout Gienger being E and piked Gienger being D. The Jaeger 1/1 will likely be judged the same.

Shilese Jones is just amazing!!! I am rooting for her so hard! Fingers crossed for the triple L turn and the stalder Nabieva at next Worlds!
Man Simone should’ve went for that shit in team final
They need to put a picture of Flavia's ring shape on the R$20 or a stamp or something
Layout 1/1 Jaeger is so pretty to watch, as is the triple L turn. Wish Sunni and Shilese had been able to nab those!
unfortunately the Jaeger 1/1 is difficult to connect so without CV it's just not worth performing, especially with the inevitable form deductions
Sanne Wever's clear hip Nabieva. Like what! 😳
And she also competed it with a 1/2 twist, but only domestically. It's pretty crazy how well she did both versions.

Switch ring leap mount is my dream mount!!!!! Wow!!! So exciting!!!
Yes, I don't think anyone will attempt it. It should be a F level skill but it's capped at E!
Flavia Saraiva should give it a go
@@ansonpangyeah with the rating and the high rate of deductions the skill can get, it's not worth it unless someone is an expert at switch rings

@@poshbo you're certainly right. If it was at least an F then maybe it might be worth it but definitely not at E.

Not sure if it will be worlds 2025, maybe only in the lead up to the next Olympics like worlds 2027

I'm waiting for somebody to do a Yurchenko double back tuck, which I think is actually safer than the triple twist (and higher valued)
1/1 jeager is everything I've ever wanted to see on bars ❤❤❤
Sideways back tuck on beam! So hard and so cool!
Putting nabieva for the triple twisting yurchenko is so camp
Espero que a Rebeca consiga homologar o TTY antes de se retirar da ginástica

Flexed feet? Should get up to 3/10 deduction, who cares about 1/10. Only then might simone biles learn how to point her toes...
@@tilmanrotationalinvariant2257 This will never happen😅... Sickle ankles and stiff metararsals are her true signature.

Man loved so many of these!
What would a triple layout be in difficulty? On floor
how about triple double on beam by simone ?
My favs:
Floor; double front full, triple L turn
Vault; triple twisting yurchenko
Bars; double front full dismount, jeager full
Beam; back tucked sideway
The clear hip nabieva looks so cool
I feel like the full twisting Jeager would/should face the same scrutiny with body position and piking as the stalder-nabieva.

@@poshbo Oh I didn't know that about the Def, that's unfortunate.
Has anyone ever tried a release move on the lower bar?
I’m especially rooting for Camarah!
All of them
On floor....... ro+bhs+worley+double front full
sUNI lEE always PIKED IT. nO CHANCE SHE WAS GETTING CREDIT.
These skills are all ugly and poorly done. Rebeca Andrade aside, every skill was a mess. Andrade however was a half twist short.
