Yeah, they really did. Alan's part is more pure survival horror, almost like a Resident Evil game, whereas Saga's is more open and has the Twin Peaks vibe going. Cool they let you switch between them largely at will too.
The way Remedy uses AMV is incredible and really innovative, this has to be the best use of the medium I’ve ever seen in any video game. Considering how bad AMV was used in the 90’s I always thought it was cheesy and not artistic, but here it’s brilliantly used to tell the story as well as add a bit of comedy. It fully leans into the cheesy nature of AMV, but at the same time delivers some banger rock music. But it’s never self-aware to the point it’s a wink and nod to the camera breaking the immersion.
This section made me decide to buy the game full price. Was watching my friend stream it, she hit this section, and we lost our minds together. How anyone could have ever thought to cut this from the game is unfathomable.

I just love how its presented to you like its this legendary weapon now, and I remember Alan first swipes it from some random emergency box out in the woods in the first game

I appreciated how you recorded this, pretty smooth! I've been watching several uploads of this scene and yours is my favourite so far. Uploaders should play it on Story mode so the enemies go down faster, though!
