    I have the HG-P417 Toyota Hilux clone and I am generally pleased with it. I have had a few issues with mine but then the original Tamiya design goes back a long way so that it not entirely unexpected. I broke both front plastic steering knuckles so had to replace them with Hot Racing metal versions. I also snapped a plastic hex wheel adaptor in half so again, I replaced them with metal versions. The servos are not strong enough in my opinion so this means the steering can wander (especially at the rear) and the transmission sometimes drops out of gear. The most annoying thing for me though is the battery access. To get to the battery you need to take the body off and that means removing tiny screws each time. On the Tamiya version the rear pick-up bed hinged open for access.

      The Tamiya Toyota one is the same way. The one that hinges is the Ford version. Great trucks, otherwise!

      @@rcinhand9671 That's strange because the Tamiya Toyota Tundra High Lift has a hinging pick-up bed as well. It makes it very simple to access the battery. Taking out all those tiny screws on the Hilux version to access the battery on the trail is an awful job.

      I meant the Tamiya Hilux has no hinges. The other Toyota does.

      @@rcinhand9671 Yes, I understand, I just don't know why Tamiya designed it like that.

      @BlackSeaRC it looks like they reused the Bruiser body.

      I like the 410 better than the 407. The 410 has a three speed transmission, slipper clutch, and four wheel steering.

    Ive been wanting the P407 cause of the silly large wheels and looks but I'm weary of only 2wd drive on medium and high gear which nudges me not buying it. The P410 really got my interest for the 4 way steering alone but I wish it has the 407's wheels. Can you fit the 407's wheels to the 410?

    • @rcinhand9671
      @rcinhand9671  ปีที่แล้ว

      You need wheel spacers to clear the body.

    That button that you said does nothing works as 3rd channel. I can turn on my headlights when needed, press the button again it turns off headlights and turns on rollbar lights press the button again both headlights and light bar on. Press again and turns off headlights and rollbar lights. I like to drive with the headlights as needed. Not on all the time.

      What I should have said is that it does nothing when set up the way it comes.

      Got you. Enjoy your truck. I'm building my to look like the Timiya Mountain Rider. Doing a ton of upgrades. But for the price, a few upgrades won't kill the budget. I changed out the ESC to the 1080 programable Quikrun Hobbywing, using 2s 7.4v 80c 6200mAh lipo batteries. Also changed out those tinny chassis rod links to Aluminum Alloy Link Rods that really help stiffen up the rear axle. I did the front steering mod with an all metal 35 kg servo, upgraded the shifter servo to a 30 kg and upgraded the shifter servo with an aluminum servo saver. All new waterproof stainless steel bearings throughout, did the RC4WD axle swap to run 12mm wheels. Added new 12mm 1.9 Aluminum rims and 1.9 120mm Pit Bull Rock Beast Tires with triple foam inserts. New aluminum shock mounts front and rear with 100mm shocks. Added the rear window to run the Rollbar with KC lights. Timiya lighting kit that works with the 3rd channel. Filled all the holes in the body and have a magnet mount body now. New rear bumper and rock sliders. Looks killer. I'll send you a video when I'm all done. Take care.

    I have looked at these before but was concered they were going to be junk. Good to know they work really well and only have few little quirks! May be a bruiser in my future...

    Vety awesome trucks. I didn't know about the 4WS. The clones are really a price option towards the originals.. ever tried the MFC to them?

    What are the color codes that you used to repaint them? Did you use TS to paint the exterior? Thanks.

      I just used store exterior spray paint. I don't remember which ones.

      I've never tried, but they do have good transmissions. I would think so

  • @YeeticleesRC
    @YeeticleesRC ปีที่แล้ว

    Are the transmissions in both of them the same?

    • @rcinhand9671
      @rcinhand9671  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. The 407 has two 2 wheel drive gears (high/low), and one 4 wheel drive low gear. The 410 is full time 4 wheel drive, low medium high. But, the 407 has a slipper clutch.
