Gen Xer that just got back into the hobby! I've had mostly Tamiyas in the past, and that's what I have now.

Awesome build. You'd done agreat job. I like the silver design. Be careful when running it and keep away from sidewalk curbs😉
Thanks! I went for silver to try something different. And yes, curbs are not a friend of this car!
Glad you got it up and running and it looks great from here! Sadly I doubt they ever re-release this one but it will just make the survivors even that more cool!
If they rere the Falcon, at least it'll open up for a few parts, like the gears. I guess this one will have to be babied.
Was my first and worst. After buying my 3rd chassis I managed to trade it to a kid at the local track for a grasshopper. Best swap I ever made in RC!! That's a great score for the sentimentality though. I thought about picking one up for a shelf queen a few years back but for what they go for now I decided some things should stay in the past! lol
I never broke mine as a kid. But, I have an idea how to fix the rear suspension, and there's always the front brace available on eBay.
Bloody hell lol.. I was hoping to see how the rings go on.. but I can't slow the video down enough lol
Sounds like a good opportunity ti take my 45T Tekin out of my crawler which isnt being run anywah.
Put it on the shelf for heaven sake, that thing is as LOW TECH as the grasshopper!!!
Nope. I'm going to run it.
Go ahead brother that's what they were invented for, should bring back some good memorys! Enjoy Ralphie
Hey, it has independent rear suspension!! Of course it'll snap the front of the chassis off if you set it down too hard and the bump steer is REAL!!
Very cool. I've the same feelings as you for this car. A rere would be cool, but I fear they would do the Sonic first. It has better parts, but don't look as slim as the Striker. Maybe we see the many times announced Falcon first. So I just enjoyed your video. I like that you still have the old RC technology in it.
Thanks. I'm thinking about putting in a manual speed control, if I can find one cheap
Awesome find my friend! Glad you were able to get a striker. It’ll look nice once it’s all done
Thanks! I'll post it again when it's done.
The Striker is a neat one but I doubt we see it again. But Tamiya does some odd and strange things so it is anyone's guess really what they are going to do next! LOL! Personally I would leave it as is and take it out for a run or two and then go through the whole restoration process and swap out all the parts and get it looking as good as possible and let it live as a shelf queen. Have fun with it and enjoy it how you would like though. It is your kit and your memories to play around with as you wish, I'll watch the videos! LOL!!
I have a feeling that Tamiya won't rerelease it. That's why I caved and went this route! There probably wouldn't be enough money doing this car, again. I agree that I should just reassemble it with the old parts. There's nothing wrong with any of them, just some scratches. Obviously someone loved this car enough to keep it in good shape, it's just the rear suspension broke.
I've been looking at the grand hauler, but the price is crazy. This is actually more affordable, though I would like a dual rear axle. Thank you for the video and educating some of us about these. They look great and will probably be my next kit.
If you think the Grand Hauler is expensive, look at the King Hauler. It costs more, and is shorter.
What Tamiya cars can be raced without falling apart , maybe the clodbuster?
Many could be
Great stuff! You and Addam from @addamsplayground are onto something switching those wheels out. Man what a difference!
Thanks! I understand that Tamiya wanted it to be different from the other CW-01 trucks, but the wheels did not match
@@rcinhand9671 agreed…they’re just too small.
I built the g500 power wagon tamiya kit same truck different body but I have to tare down and epoxy the diff or put the kit in Because it is horrible if you don’t lock diffs
The kit comes with plastic inserts for the diff instead of using the spider gears, to lock it. Or you can use Silly Putty, that will almost lock it, and still give you diff action. It's also very easy to clean out the Silly Putty when the time comes.
What do you search for on Amazon for scale items like that
I just start the search with 1/10, or RC Crawler, and the description. It usually is accurate enough.
Nice. That has a couple accessories. A tad top heavy but looks wonderful.
Thanks! I was worried that it would tip over all the time, but it did well with all that on top.
Very nice looking Bronco. Looks great outside.
Thanks! It is very fun to drive!
LOL you got an RC on your RC, that is awesome! The upgrades and add-ons can take you down a long and winding road sometimes. As long as you had fun customizing it that is all that matters. They don't have to be built and run the same day! I still have not run on or two of mine for one reason or another yet, I intended to but just have not gotten around to it yet. One day I will!
I think this was the long, winding road for me. The worst part is that I was so pumped to drive it when I built it! Are the ones you haven't run yet going to have videos of them?
@@rcinhand9671 if I run them they will probably become videos.
Awesome. I'll watch them, if you do.
Been putting one these in my basket and then taking it out!!! Think I’m going to have to finally get one
Other than the screws, it's about the same quality as a Tamiya semi. Also, they come with bearings!
That turned out pretty good.
Thanks! The things I do to reenact 15 seconds of a childhood cartoon.. 🤣
What is the shell like? Can I use it without painting it?
It's white hard plastic. You can use it without painting it, if you want.
Looks good out there. Great spot for testing crawlers.
It did well!
Happy Birthday brother!!! Sweet truck 🤩🤩🤩
Thank you! I don't feel like an old f@rt at all! 😂
The truck looks great! A CR01 kit is on my wish list for sure. Crawling and filming is not easy, I have no idea how a lot of these other guys do it! I have to have a camera person when I go! Have fun with it!
Thanks! I have the cell phone holder, I just forgot to bring it. My daughter was having too much fun with her Midnight Pumpkin to help! 😂
Looks great!
Thanks! These trucks are more fun than I thought they would be!
Happy birthday, im allways saving money. To buy more rc stuff with 😂 these do look cool 👌
Thanks for the birthday wishes! I'm almost done with it, and it is a different build!
42
No, sorry.
Happy birthday! I don't think any of us in this hobby have a the ability to save money unless it is to save for the next kit purchase! I have not gotten one of these yet, I have been holding out hope they do the Bronco again. That would convince me to get one! Have fun with it, they seem like a fun build!
Thank you for the birthday wishes! Oh, I was given no choice but to save right now! 🤣🤣 They had a 73 Bronco in this chassis, but it's been discontinued. I'm already pulling my hair out with the build. Haha.
53 years old
haha

Happy birthday! Saving money is a concept I don't have a grasp on. The CR-01 is a great chassis. Enjoy your build.
Thanks!
nice , could be 37 happy birthday
Thanks! No, I'm not going to be 37.
Always fancied one of these. I will be keeping an eye on your progress 🙌🏻
Thanks! This is going to be a fun build!
From down under sweet ❤🙏❤️🇦🇺🇺🇸💪
Thanks!
I just finished my bbx . I’m doing the plastics now . The build was fun I have the vw 12 window bus that I’m going to do next
Nice choice
Hello brother I found you Glad you told me you have a page Fb - I posted my vw beetle
Just got mine kit number 47390 but manual kit number 84270 is that normal
Mine is the same. They must have just reprinted the manuals from the original run of the Black Special.
@@rcinhand9671 thanks.
Too many? I just built my 2007 hotshot this week. Only took 15 ish years to get to in. All perspective. :)
Wow! Do you have a video of it?
@rcinhand9671 just photos, I'm afraid. Was going back and forth with Big Filly and Mark Bryan while building it. I like filming the track but I don't like being in front of the camera much. Unless it's a speed , then I'm all in.
Yeah, you got your hands full! I know the feeling LOL!!! The truck is looking great!
Thanks! At this point I just have the seats and dash to paint, and I can start assembling the many many bits of bodywork!
Nice 👍🏾💯
Thanks! I'll post Huffer when I'm done
Nice 👍🏾
Looks like a fun project
It is!
nice truck. as a child id play with my trucks in the dirt as realistically as possible and had i had an rc truck in the dirt as this beauty, a dream come true for sure. i even made childish suspensions on my tonkas for that realism, in my mind
Thanks for the build tip! 👊🏼
Got one down under under order congrats mate ❤
Thanks! Take your time on the build and enjoy it!
Ordered mine in Australia 🇦🇺 nice god bless ya ❤
With the Lunchbox / Midnight Pumpkin wheels you simply switched your "Pajero" to a 58499 Tamiya "Montero Wheelie" ... but with oil filled shocks. More than 30 years back I ran my Tamiya Pumpkin with CVA shocks and a Reedy Pink Dot motor. It was a blast to drive and I had rare rollovers. Now I own the same chassis as you showed here but also switched to Pumpkin Metallic Special Chrome wheels. In my eyes the "new" Pajero wheels are not well thought through. As another comment here earlier, it may be that they wanted to resemble the look of the old 58044 style. But creating new wheels with this outdated mount style instead of introducing 12mm hex to this chassis seems to be short sighted. I "grew up" with Tamiya and I still buy some of their models, but honestly I sometimes simply doesn't understand their marketing.
Gives me some good performance benchmarks to compare to with my Globe Liner. But that...heh heh heh heh. Nitro. Toyan 4-cycle engine. Currently quagmired with transmission indecision, but once I decide on a transmission to use I'll have it on the road.
⚡️⚡️GREAT STUFF⚡️⚡️I’m glad I found your channel I look forward to seeing more of your videos📺 I do mostly TRANSFORMER Stop Motion 🎬📸🎞️ I hope you enjoy my animation‼️ 6:37 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Looks good
Good to know about the difference with the front hubs 👍
That would frustrate some people, I would think
Cool
