I’ve seen a fair bit of comments about this but to make it clear I’m a Singles Pokémon Player lol so I’m looking at it in that angle. This mon prolly might be good in VGC but I don’t play doubles like that lol. And yes, my bad about the weaknesses for Sinistcha, I was focused on grass and didn't take into account for the ghost typing when writing that part.
Yeah it's got such a perfectly compressed move in matcha gotcha, a spread status inducing healing move with decent base power and accuracy, not to mention the rest of its amazing support toolkit in hospitality strength sap and rage powder, most of these tools' effectiveness is either partially or completely diminished in singles so it's pigeon holed into the role of a calm mind sweeper that many other pokemon can do better
clearly this is one of those Pokémon designed for Doubles format only. we should be grateful they gave it a semi decent alternate ability for Singles at all.

Not every Pokémon needs to be an ou staple. This one probably isn’t, but it does have a lot going for it that could leave it as a potential niche pick on the right team. Base 80 power move that heals and can burn is definitely not bad (though the accuracy and only 20% chance might leave it disappointing at times). It’s stats are decent and it has some good matchups. On the right team where it’s able to hit the field a lot, it could prove to be really annoying to deal with: Honestly I think unique Pokémon that can be strong in the right situations, but also aren’t broken are cool for the game to add. Maybe it’s a little weak but it’s far from the worst Mon in the game, and I’m sure it will find its place eventually
was i the only one that saw the shiny nosepass in the background at the start? edit: no, that was just a sandshrew, for some reason video defaulted to 360p and made it incomprehensibly crunchy
I use Sinistcha in Stall Teams and she has good qualities. Ground resists, good way to spreading burn and punishing switches, fast enough vs some stallbreakers, imunity to traping. And with terastal, Heatproff wins more value. So yeah, it's a UU pokémon but with potential to OU in some stall archytypes.
As a Sinistcha enjoyer, I’d say it definitely has its place in the OU metagame from what I’ve seen. Take this with a grain of salt because I’m pretty low ladder, but it has won me many games via calm mind and matcha gotcha. Admittedly, it does struggle somewhat against knock off, however if you can play around that, maybe even Tera to avoid it, you’ll get a pretty decent setup sweeper all things considered.
I just tried using it on webs offence and it has no use there especially when ogerpon exists. It just doesn’t have enough stats for what it offers in OU, in a lower tier it could be obnoxious in lower tiers with strength sap, and matcha gotcha. Could force more covert cloak to avoid the burn if it drops to an appropriate tier for it, which would probably be in RU.
@@randomperson4137 wanted to try new mons, thought it would work since it’s speed is holding it back, and I thought I could use another ghost type to block spin. And yeah, it didn’t end up working too well, the rest of the team did most of the lifting.

as a primarily vgc player, i think its strength is in vgc fishing for burns while being a support mon with hospitality and strenght sap

I have an authentic Heatproof Sinistcha, but yeah, Doubles is where it'll really shine, or the 7 star Chesnaught raid if it'll rerun.

I think you're too hung up on the speed of this Pokémon. Put it on a trick room team in doubles. This mon is actually really good.
