I know this is for singles but one other note in favor of raging bolt is that he is currently the 1A/1B to fluttermane for the best paradox pokemon currently in vgc as well.
Roaring Moon's story in both OU and NatDex OU has always been a fascinating for me. It started out arguably broken in the tier when the generation started, both because Shed Tail used to be legal in the tier for quite a while, and also because Booster Energy was initially implemented into Showdown incorrectly, giving a 1.5x to all stats rather than 1.3x (minus Speed which is still 1.5x). It was the Paradox mon that abused pre-nerf Booster the most. The mon fell off quite a bit after Shed Tail's ban and Booster Energy got correctly implemented, but then it rose back up again once it got Knock Off in DLC1, leading to its ban. DLC2's powercreep fortunately allowed the mon to return back to the tier at last. Roaring Moon was actually banned very early into NatDex OU's life due to the aforementioned Shed Tail and buffed Booster. An important thing to know is that NatDex OU used to be in absolute chaos for a very long time due to the broken new stuff added in Gen 9 mixed with NatDex mechanics, which resulted in the high level playerbase and tier figureheads initially being very trigger happy in banning stuff (for example, Ursaluna was banned for a while even though it is actually not very good in the tier). Quite a bit after this preemptive ban, there were quite a bit of calls to retest it back into the NatDex OU tier, and was likely about to do so if it weren't for DLC1 being around the corner. After Moon got Knock Off in DLC1 and then got banned from normal OU, it pretty much shoved Roaring Moon out of the NatDex playerbases' priority list to address in the tier. To this very day, Roaring Moon is still banned from NatDex OU, but maybe someday it can be looked at again in the tier.
It should mentioned that Roaring Moon was Suspect tested in ND OU earlier this year and was seen as overpowered in Sun or with Booster energy so maybe in the future it will be unbanned but as of now it seems as though it will stay in NDubers where it is unable to threaten much and is Brutally outclassed by Mega Salamence due to it's higher attack, Bulk and Speed, with Roaring Moon being outsped by just one point which leads to it being outsped by base 120s such as the aforementioned Mega Salamence, All Arceus forms and the rare Palkia-O, as well as Eturnatus and Ultra Necrozma which can cause issues as Ultra Necrozma acts as a WAY more powerful Dragon dance sweeper with a nuke in Light that burns the sky, with Eturnatus being highly versatile and being a more immediate threat. Overall Roaring Moon in National Dex seems to not be able to catch a break as in OU it has been banned for being too powerful and in Ubers being outclassed by it's cousin Mega Salamence, while being walled by stall mons.
@@fogwzu Oh really? I completely forgot that it did get tested again. It is so hard to look for suspect test threads on the Smogon forums. Wonder what made Roaring Moon still too good in NatDex OU, since it is fundamentally the same mon as in normal OU. Maybe the fact that Mega Zard Y is the Sun setter?
@@the_bookworm8281 Yeah it's mainly Zard Y being a good mon on its own which allowed sun teams to be too good alongside Roaring Moon, though I admit around that time I was busy laddering NDubers so I don't know too much about what made it broken aside from Zard Y and Roaring Moon being a Nutty combo
1:47: This is a Pokémon that will age well, I’m hoping, into Gen10 Me: I fear the Paradox ‘mons will suffer the same fate as the Ultra Beasts….. as in left in their respective Generations
At the beginning of Scarlet/Violet I legit thought that Iron Treads is a straight up better version of Great Tusk, with the same Spinner movepool, way faster speed and a Steel typing to boot. But apparently I too underestimated the combination of Tusk's insane physical bulk and the Ground/Fighting typing. Iron Treads is still good, but no where near the level for it to be an OU proper.
imo Iron Leaves had the potential to be good but its Grass/Psychic typing, among possible other things, completely shafted it due to U-Turn's wide distribution and high use
walking wake didn't even get mentioned, genuinely washed mon based on usage stats , it could even drop to uu after which i'll take a hiatus from that tier for a week

The Ultra Beasts came back in SwSh, granted it was in the DLC but they at least survived their debut gen.
Those same ultra beasts are literally in swsh
I think bugs should be immune to flinching. They are the ones to cause fear and make you flinch so they shouldn’t themselves flinch.

Love the ancient paradox Pokemon. They're just so cool and creative.
The Bundle Montreal salute you for the good words on Iron Bundle xD
The amount of Paradox Pokemon that are in OU or Ubers is insane.

Not even 4x weak to bug, 4x to u-turn lol
@@mr.jitterspam9552 its the most used bug move so yeah
I just realized the only thing holding back valiant is Tapu Koko's release, and fairy spam would be everywhere at that point
Great video and my favorite paradox Pokemon are iron valiant and raging bolt
Who cares, my Scream Tail is destroying all of these with the power of friendship.
If Flutter Mane's stats are that crazy, imagine the stats on Past Paradox-Form Mismagius.
Great Tusk is so damn good.
walking wake didn't even get mentioned, genuinely washed mon

UUBL is going to be getting a new addition to its ranks
What about walking wake? Isn’t it the strongest one?
Far too inconsistent, some games it is a complete demon, most other times it does nothing, both offensively and defensively.
You forgot to mention Iron Mugulis
The best paradox is obvious Paradox Chompy
Great Tusk is good because it gets access to Psyshock obviously
You really gonna ignore scarf and spec val? Those set can absolutely destroy teams that dont prepare for it
Nuh uh I am
