If I could have witnessed 1 event in world history, it would have been when Paul met James and Peter. Whst did they talk sbout? The life of Jesus. If Paul were a new convert, he would hsve quizzed James and Peter for days even weeks. Who wouldn't have! Yet, it doesn't seem like Paul knew that much about Jesus. And he would have credited and honored them but it didn't seem like he did. Odd. Something's not right.

Perhaps it was nothing more than some kind of pilgrimage. He saw James and the apostles but actually never talked to them. Kinda like what people do today to the Vatican.

If Paul met James and Peter, it was to tell them that their theology was a non starter with Jews and he was going to spread Jesus’ message by crafting a new message to convince gentiles to follow an augmented new theology.
I would have thought Paul would have been curious about the life of Jesus and the 3 years he spent with the apostles but, maybe not. He may have only been interested in co-opting Jesus as a vehicle for promoting a new religion.

Paul is ( = ) James the Just ; the 'epithet' brother (friend) of God fits him the best cuz he is also Zebedeus (who dwells with god) and Zacharias barachai ( the 'blessed' Benedictus who comes 'in the name of the lord' ) . Unfortunately the nickname is not given to Paul, but given by 'paul' to one of his 'twin' ( John & James ) sons ; James aka the Less or the lesser ( the Just being the morer or most interresting of the 2 jamesses ). Btw the name James/ Jacobus (pretender} is a nickname for Andrew ( Adreas, Drusus ), the muscled or the strong one. Bbiblical Paul owns a dozen or so of names/ nicknames but is historical best known as Germanicus/ Cornelius ; the ' horned ' the horns to be understood as his twin, the 2 witnesses or boanerges/ dioscuri .

I read a book, 'In Search of the Historical Jesus'. Research historians found an original source passage from a court talking about, 'James of Nazareth, Brother of Jesus'. This tells me that yes, there was a man named Jesus in Nazareth who had a brother James. Sometimes, this is all we are going to get but to me it gives credence to the realism vs mythology.

Interesting, this is the closest interpretation of these passages I have heard, that correlates to the visions I have experienced in relation to the "new" heavens, "new" earth, and the "cosmos." This perspective, gives me much hope, as my personal experience with whom I consider as the "Living and Risen One," has far gone past what is consider doctrinally sound or "scriptural" by much of the western church. I would have chosen to be an atheist and walk away, had it not been for what I have seen, heard, and experienced. I know I'm not the only one that has gone through this "transformation," because you can't describe it in a reasonable, rational manner, but I so appreciate what Dr. Tabor is sharing from these earliest writings and the encouragement it brings to me as I long to know what I am reading from scripture is genuine.

    Dr Tabor:
Do you have info what the Bible and apostles thought about the conception of Mary?
Was Jesus as human made out her egg and God Himself (the Eternal Word as a seed)? Or was she “only” the womb He was placed in?
I would like to find out of the Lord was as human being the result of God as Father mixed with an egg of Mary as His mother (because that makes Him something -the GodMan- new).
When he returned to His Father He was different than when He came to us.
    Normal mothers bring forth
    ánd help to create
    a person who first
    n o t existed.
The Case of the Bearing of the Eternal Word is not the same. Jesus was (and is forever) I Am.

I believe there is a much better case to be made that Lazarus was the Beloved Disciple mentioned in John's Gospel, and thus its author, not James the Just. John 11:3 indentifies Lazarus as the one whom Jesus loved and goes on from there. As a native of Bethany, it makes more sense that he is the disciple mentioned in John 18:15 who is known to the high priest and is admitted to Jesus' trial, whereas it is unlikely that a Galilean like James would be known by many people in Jerusalem at that time. That would also make Lazarus the one reclining on Jesus' breast in John 13: 23, in whom Jesus confides, and also present at the foot of the cross in John 19:26 when all the Galilean disciples had already fled the scene. The Johanine epilogue in Chapter 21 seems to reflect the fact that Lazarus died and his community of believers was thrown into a crisis, as they seemed to believe that having been raised from the dead by Jesus, that Lazarus could not die again, as reflected in John 21:22-23, but he did, and this community of believers began to split up after he was gone.

You can rule out the 'completely fabricated' bit. Historians say that there's enough evidence to indicate that something did happen. As for the 'misleading' bit, it would be safe to say that the available evidence, by design', can be interpreted in various ways.

The removal of James is only part of the heresy. They also removed the women. Barely commenting on their importance to Jesus, but completely stripping out that EVERY Apostle had to have a female companion. Because of the strictness of society men couldn't minister privately to any woman they're not married to or related to. Thus the necessity of female Apostles

This is one of the most unfounded things I have come across. How we can call this “scholarship” is beyond me. An absolute reinterpretation of Church history ends up being just as imaginary and unfounded as any Mormon doctrine. Being oriented towards secularism does not make you less religious, it just changes the flavor of your religion.

*All Top Bible Scholars including Dr. Tabor are agreed that from Four Gospels, First one which was written down is Gospel of Mark, and in ancient copy of Mark, there is no any clue of two stories, Story of Virgin Birth and story of Ascension and Return of Jesus. Now, a rational question arises that if these two stories were real stories; then how could Mark miss those two fanciful stories which at that time could have made Christianity more popular!*
Truth is: above-mentioned two hoaxes were forged later, and blended in gospels in order to show new converts that Christianity is a supernatural dogma. Even that Genealogy of Jesus which appears in the oldest manuscripts of Matthew and Luke; it is said "Joseph begot Jesus". Words "Supposed to" are forgery of later days. Even some ancient Expert has said: the new Chapters were intentionally added in Mathew and Luke to show fable of Virgin Birth.
From 4 Gospels, some Gospels show that Jesus used to have at least 7 siblings (real bothers and sisters) and "James the Just" was also real brother of Jesus.
When Christians, Jews and Zoroastrians converted to Islam in 7th Century, they came to Islam along with their some previous false beliefs, and they spread those beliefs among other Muslims. Those fables were later blended in hadiths books which were FABRICATED much later after the death of Prophet Mohammad and after death of his all companions of Prophet. Now, in order to RECONCILE fabricated stories of their Forged Hadiths; Vile Mullahs, Sneaky Imams, and Pseudo Scholars started to twist, bend, deform, and tamper translation of relevant verses of Quran. They could not change Original Arabic Text of Quran because there are millions of Muslims who memorize whole Quran. If they had changed even one Arabic word of Quran; they could have been challenged by Millions of Huffaaz. Huffaaz is plural of Hafiz, and Hafiz is that person who memorizes whole Quran. Zoroastrians brought with them Fable of Mahdi, and Jews brought with them Punishment of Stoning (Rajam) for a fornicator. But in Quran, no such punishment exists. Regardless if a Person is married or unmarried, in Quran punishment for Illegal sex (sex without wedlock) is 100 lashes *in front of people.*
If we do not SUPERIMPOSE stories of Fabricated Hadiths on Quran; then nowhere in Quran exist two stories, stories of Virgin Birth and Ascension and Return of Jesus. *Quran NEVER denies nailing of Jesus on the Cross in verse 4:157 but Quran powerfully rejects CRUCIFIXION of Jesus which means: he survived death on the Cross.* Even several top Bible Scholars have written that In order to save Jesus from death, through a plan, he was drugged on the Cross. Enemies thought, on Cross, he is dead but he just appeared as dead but he was not dead. Later he was Resuscitated in Tomb of Joseph of Arimathea; and later he permanently SECRETELY immigrated to EAST under Pseudo name YUZ ASAPH in order to hide his identity for Security Reasons. Quran never tells that Jesus was substituted on Cross. This hoax of Substitution was spread among Muslims by Agnostic Christian groups. When in 4:157, Quran tells: he was not crucified but it appeared to them as so; that means: He was not dead on Cross but appeared to them as so that he is died.
Even Gospels of Luke and John show, that even after the incidence of Cross; Jesus was very much alive with same injured human body and he managed over 12 meetings with his disciples before immigrating to EAST. This also confirms claim of Quran that Jesus did not Die on the Cross=Nailed but Not Crucified 4:157
Before Immigration of Jesus to East; Disciples asked Jesus. WE KNOW YOU ARE LEAVING US but tell us: who should we follow after you? Jesus said: Follow his brother "James the Just".
Quran tells in 5:110, 5:116-117 that Jesus died naturally at the age of KAHLAN and that age is that old age when Human skin starts to putrefy. But Mullahs even tamper translation of word KAHLAN in order to support their fable. Historical evidence shows: Jesus died at age 120. Even we find in over 30 ancient well-known books of Hadith Literature of Sunni sect that Prophet Mohammad told his daughter Fatimah that I will have half life of Jesus. Because Jesus died at 120, so I will die at 60. Normally, you will read that Prophet Mohammad died at 63 but there are over six Reports in top Books of Sunni sect which show that he died at age 60. Quran has used word RAFA=RAISE in verse 4:158 for Jesus. But same word RAFA is used in several other verses of Quran, and meaning of RAFA in those verses is TO RAISE IN HONOR/RANKS and Spiritual-Exaltation but Sunni and Shia Translators tamper this verse and translate word RAFA as to Raise body of Jesus to SKY. This is pure nonsense. People who understand Spirituality and metaphysics know: that this is IMPOSSIBLE. Body made of Dust returns to DUST after death, and only the Real Immortal Person is raised to God, and that Real Person is Ruh/Spirit/Soul.
We know each word of Quran, and we have read almost all Gospels and apocryphal manuscripts. We have studied well many books of Bible Scholars including Books of Great Scholar and Decent Man Dr. Tabor; and we studied history, and Comparative Religion. Nowhere Quran tells that Jesus was born without human father. In whole Quran, no any Arabic word appears which can be translated as VIRGIN. Almah of Hebrew is also not Virgin but a maiden.
*Quran tells three stories of birth in SAME TONE.* Birth of Isaac, Birth of Yahya (John the Baptist), and Birth of Jesus, and we all know Yahya and Isaac had human fathers, so Jesus too. Quran sets Creation law in several verses where God says: "O People: we have created you all from a male and female 49:13", and Birth of Jesus is not exempted from this law.
Quran tells: Zakria made Dua/Supplication. O My Lord: I have gotten old but I do not have any inheritor; grant me a son. So Angel gave glade tiding to him that you will have a son with name Yahya. Zakria and his wife said: We are now very old, so how can we have a son now? *Angels said: It is not difficult for God, He does, what He wills. He tells something to be, and it becomes" - Of course through his laws.*
Quran tells: Angels gave glad tiding to Abraham for a new Son Isaac and then son of Isaac "Jacob". When old wife of Abraham (Sarah) heard that: she slapped her face in surprise and said: how can I have a son now when I am barren and my husband is very old! *Angels said: It is not difficult for God, He does, what He wills. He tells something to be, and it becomes" - Of course through his laws.*
Quran tells: Angel appeared to Mary (appears in Dream) and told her that she will have Son. Because at that time Mary was unmarried. So it was very natural to be surprised, so she asked Angel, how can I have a son when so far no man has penetrated me? *Angel said: It is not difficult for God, He does, what He wills. He tells something to be, and it becomes" - Of course through his laws.* Now, Mullahs misinterpret this verse. They interpolate that Mary never married. But Quran never tells that Mary never married. Fact is: much later, Mary married to Joseph, and Jesus was biological son of Joseph and same was said by "James the Just". In Gospels, frequently, Jesus is called Son of Joseph and Mary.
Quran has also used word "Ahsanat Farjaha" in verse 66:12 for Mary, and same word "Ahsanat Farjaha" is also used frequently in Arabic literature for a MARRIED WOMAN. From word "Ahsanat Farjaha", word "Ahsanat" has root in word "Ahson"=FORT. Meaning of words "Ahsanat Farjaha" is: a woman who marries to a Man IN ORDER TO *FORTIFY* HER CHASTITY. A married woman is also a Chase-woman who does not engage in illegal sex (sex without wedlock).
Quranic verse 3:36 tells us: that mother of Mary made Dua/Supplication to God for the security of Mary *and Mary's CHILDREN*

Revelation was written before all of the other new testament books. The 7 thunders of revelation were 7 brothers. Later on they became the 12 apostles. The sermon on the mount and Cesar's coin ( render on to ceasar) was from the essene Jesus. He did not have 6 brothers or 12 apostles. Did Peter kill Ananias and Sapphira because they " lied to God " because they didn't give all of their wealth to the church? The family of seditious Zealots were violent against Rome and and judea. I’m surprised he doesn’t realize that Jesus abandoned and disowned his family and repudiated the concept of family loyalty in general and mocked dynastic succession. Your worst enemies will be your own family if you follow him, he said, and he questioned how the Messiah could be the son of David if David called him my Lord. Jesus did not respect genealogical inheritance but only the gift of the Holy Spirit. How is it his brother James suddenly shows up after Christ’s death and takes ‘control’ of the new movement? Who gave him this authority? Jesus character as the Messiah has nothing to do with genealogy. It’s bogus and Jesus’ life proves it.

HE( Jesus told John at the cross behold your mother and visa versea) well if all the Jews wanted to end the Jesus movement and the Romans ......and we don't hear much on John till later .it may have been it was John's job to get all of Jesus family mom brothers sisters cousin out of dodge for their own safety .this makes so much sense Jesus knew His 12 would be killed except John why would he want that for his family.futhermore no caliphate as His kingdom is not of this earth like the royal families of Europe He wanted for the kingdom and His family safety to disperse to safety....then much later after John accomplished His first commission to head the family of Jesus we get John 1 2 3 revelation all much later ...there it all makes sense........

I don't think that James was a faithful follower of Jesus, even though he was his brother... nor were his other brothers faithful to him or his ministry. Recall that when Jesus first started preaching in Galilee, his family came and tried to stop him, explaining to the crowds that Jesus was out of his mind. Later, when his mother and brothers came and wanted to speak to him, Jesus said that it was those gathered around him ( not necessarily his disciples) who did the will of God who were his brother, sister and mother. (Mark 3:20-35). In John 7, late in Jesus's ministry, it states that the Jews in Judea were trying to kill him, yet his brothers encouraged him to go anyway... in verse 5, it states that even his brothers did not have faith in him!
Further, whenever the gospel Jesus preached was presented to the Jews, it resulted in lethal persecution of those preaching. About 15 years after Jesus was killed, Paul visits Jerusalem to find that James, Peter, John, and the rest of the community are involved in a ministry to the Jews: astonishingly, they are not only co-existing wth the Jews in Jerusalem, but even participating in Temple worship. Whatever gospel James and his crew had cobbled together to allow this situation to develop, it certainly was not he original gospel Jesus preached in Galilee or that Paul received from Jesus and preached to everyone, where ever he went.
To me, there is strong evidence that the Jerusalem community under James' leadership, with Peter's defection, rebranded Jesus and his ministry of the Sacred Way to the people of Galilee, making him out to be the "Anointed One" sent to and rejected by the Jews. The four Gospels/Acts were written to substantiate Jerusalem's gospel of Jesus as the Christ!
The original Gospel of the Way ministered to the people of Galilee and Paul's communities was eventually subverted by the efforts of James and the rest of the Jerusalem community. We practice a Christianity today, but it is not rooted in the original Gospel of Jesus of Nazareth.

Lot was called Abraham's brother when he was clearly his nephew.
Laban and Jacob, who are uncle and nephew, are as well called brothers.
The Hebrew language had no word for cousin or uncle. All family was brother or sister, mother or father

Do Virgin Mary Had Any Other Children?
PEOPLE DO THINK THAT BECAUSE THE PASSAGE BELOW QUESTIONED CHRIST RELATIVES, THEREFORE HE HAD BLOOD BRETHREN, NO!: Matt 13:55
...*..Is His mother not Mary?, And are not his brethren JAMES AND JOSEPH and Simon Judas* the word brethren includes kinsmen, relatives,ETC.
You WILL see James, Joseph, Simon, and Jude, were Jesus' cousin, brethren/Relatives
The Bible uses the phrase ---'A SON'-- or --'CHILD'--and not children or sons confirm this Neither will the Bible or prophesies be lie, thus:
Matt. 1:22 This all happened so that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet would be fulfilled: Matt. 1:23 .*.Look! The virgin will conceive and bear A SON, and they will call him Emmanuel Matt. 1:21 She will give birth to A SON and you will name him JESUS, because HE will save his people from their sins.
    SO
    James,
    Joseph,
    Simon,
    and Jude.
Are they really Jesus BLOOD BROTHER? no! in Hebrew were the English version of the bible was translated from, there is no such word as * my blood brethren*, rather as the Igbo Language has no such, rather they call same blood, relative, even their tribal ones *My Brother* (Nwa Nne m meaning *my mother's Child/brother*) even when they had only Tribal relationship only, Christian also call their fellow Christians Sister or Brother(in the Lord=specified) because the share the same faith. else one may think they are of same blood! The Bible Proves it otherwise .*. Prophecy of scripture is not a matter of one's personal interpretation 2 Pt. 1:20,
Note THE BIBLE WARNS: Scripture can be difficult to understand and can be distorted to one's destruction ... .*. 2 Pt. 3:15-18.
Let analyze the passages misunderstood by many, (that Virgin Mary was Virgin up to the birth of Christ, that after then she lost her Virginity and gave birth to other sons or if she remained EVER VIRGIN
in Matt. 28:1 ..*Mary Mag'dalene and other Mary went to see the tomb* before this Jesus had died and His mother is already with Disciples, Matt. 28:7 ..*..then go and tell His Disciple that He has risen from the dead * he said this because the Disciple and Mary where at home, that's why the bible use the word *the OTHER MARY*
this includes: *(Cloepas' wife). and Mother Of The Sons Of Zebedee, Mary The Mother Of James And Joseph When the Bible wants to mention Virgin Mary, it specifies Her as in Luke 2:48...*and His mother said to him, son, why have you treated us so? your Father And I* you see that they had no other child yet even at 12 years,
SEE HOW the BIBLE DISTINGUISHES 3 OTHER MARY FROM VIRGIN MARY
    Mark 15:40; Matthew 27:56, :
...*Among them at the cross were
    MARY Magdalene and
MARY the MOTHER of JAMES and JOSEPH(Joses),
    and Salo'me ; and
THE MOTHER OF THE SONS OF ZEBEDEE.*
Matt. 27:61..Mary Mag'dalene and the OTHER MARY WERE THERE. SITTING OPPOSITE THE TOMB
Summing the passages, This shows that there may be at least 2 Mary(s) who are Jesus relatives and had sons: Cross reference this with the passage below
SEE HOW THE BIBLE DO MENTION JESUS' MOTHER
John 19:25..*..But standing the cross of Jesus were:
    His MOTHER, and
MARY THE WIFE OF CLEOPAS (VIRGIN MARY'S sister,), and
    MARY MAG'DALENE
We see that at least three of the brethren mentioned in Matthew 13, OR MARK 6:3 were definitely not siblings of Jesus (although they're called Siblings) but they were Jesus' cousins--sons of their mother's sister. because them Virgin Mary is already with the Disciples ahome.
The Bible is simply silent on the exact relationship between Jesus and the other two men, Simon and Jude, mentioned in Matthew 13. This proves two important things. First, it proves that the Greek word for brethren is sometimes used to mean something other than sibling, and it proves that Matthew 13:55-56 in no way demonstrates that Mary had other children.
Matt 13:55...*..Is His mother not Mary?, And are not his brethren
JAMES AND JOSEPH and Simon Judas*
the word brethren includes kinsmen, relatives, Extended family, society, people with same faith etc that's why in court, or bank they will ask you to specify the exact relationship of your chosen next of Kin. The Bible only teaches us that Joseph kept her a virgin until after the birth of Jesus (see Matt. 1:18-25 below).
Matt. 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ happened this way. While his mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. Matt. 1:19 Because Joseph, her husband to be, was a righteous man, and because he did not want to disgrace her, he intended to divorce her privately.

Jesus Christ has no blood siblings as He is GOD. When verses speak of His brothers and sisters, they are talking about His cousins as the word for cousin in those days was the same as brothers. James and Joseph’s mother is not Virgin Mary, but another Mary.
Matthew 27:56 Among these were Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
When He was born, there was only Joseph and Virgin Mary. When He stayed behind talking with the elders in the Temple, it was Joseph and Virgin Mary who returned for Him. When He was invited to The Wedding at Cana, it was His mother, apostles who attended with Him. When He was teaching the people, it was His apostles who were with Him. When He suffered His Passion, it was His mother and apostles with Him. When He was dying on His Cross, He pledged His loving mother to His favorite apostle, not a family member. In those days, family members would be responsible to care for their family members.
Matthew 1:24 Then Joseph, arising from sleep, did just as the Angel of the Lord had instructed him, and he accepted her as his wife.
Matthew 1:25 And he knew her not, yet she bore her son, the firstborn. And he called his name JESUS.
Jesus Christ is the only one conceived by Virgin Mary as she is a perpetual virgin. In Greek, the term "firstborn" is translated as "prototokos" (mpóoos). The word "prototokos" primarily means the first to be born or the first in birth order.
However, in ancient Jewish and early Christian contexts, it carried additional significance beyond just birth order. "Prototokos" could also imply a special status or preeminence, indicating the one who holds a position of honor and inheritance rights. This term doesn't necessarily mean that there were other siblings born after, but rather that the person had the rights and privileges associated with being the firstborn.

The Question ISN'T "Who was James the Brother of the Lord?" The QUESTION is..... "WHO was James the BROTHER OF?" WHICH "Jesus"??
We KNOW the JESUS of the "Gospels".
BUT.... the ancient Judish priest-historian Josephus records in Book VIII of his "Jewish Wars" the appearance of a man named "JESUS ben ANANIAS", who started uttering doom moanings about Jerusalem for SEVEN YEARS BEFORE the destruction of the city and the 🏛. And JAMES is dated to have been EXECUTED by ORDER of the Chief Priest ANANIAS II for some UNspecified accusation in 62 AC, along with "SOME OTHERS". WHO were these "OTHERS" IF James was a "CHRISTIAN"??
So this "COINCIDENCE" begs the Question: "Was JESUS moaning about the impending DOOM of Jerusalem because of the EXECUTION of his BROTHER JAMES and his DISCIPLES??
IS THIS WHY the ancient Christian theologian Origen claimed that while Josephus didn't consider Jesus to be "Christ" ( he merely wrote that James was the brother of Jesus CALLED "Christ'...") he attributed the destruction of the 🏛 NOT to the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ BUT WHAT the Jews DID to JAMES??! 🥸🧐🤔

    • @richarddemuth7077
      @richarddemuth7077 ปีที่แล้ว

I would rather say the BEHEADING of James (the "brother of John and son of Zebedee") in "Acts" Chapter 12 by order of King Herod Agrippa I is the "COVER STORY" for the death of James "THE BROTHER OF JESUS" (and son of Alphaeus) as recorded by Josephus in Book XVIII of his "Judish Antiquities"; which, according to common chronology, occurred in 62 AC. NOT SEVEN years AFTER the Crucifixion, but SEVEN years BEFORE the destruction of Jerusalem and the 🏛️!

I would STRONGLY DISagree with Pro. Tabor that James the brother of Jesus is supposed to be the "Beloved Disciple" who was the "eyewitness author" of the gospel attributed to "JOHN". IF JAMES HAD composed it it SURELY would have been attributed to HIM instead of him merely being credited for the "Protoevangelium"!!
Furthermore, just from intrinsic indications in the "Gospel" we can tell that, whether true OR not, the "Beloved Disciple" is none other than LAZARUS!! ONLY OF HIM in THAT "Gospel", and his sisters, is it written, "Now JESUS LOVED LAZARUS and his sisters Martha and Mary." ("John" 11:5-6) Even Peter plays a more SIGNificant role in it than James, such as at the end when Jesus tells him explicitly to "Follow Me." And when Peter did and looked back to see "the disciple whom Jesus LOVED following them" he asked Jesus," And Lord, what of this man?"; meaning WHAT shall befall HIM as his ultimate Fate as Jesus had made the famous prediction of martyrdom for Peter. Jesus DIDN'T respond with saying "He shall be TAKEN as YOU will." He famously said, "IF I wish HIM to REMAIN until I come (again) what is it to you?" Therefore the saying went forth among the disciples that THAT one was not to die (by violence). But Jesus had not said he was not to die, just what did it matter to Peter IF Jesus wished him to remain alive until his Return to Earth? OBVIOUSLY James HASN'T "remained"; and for THAT matter, NEITHER has Lazarus. According to a 9th Century Gallic account, Lazarus is supposed to have died a PEACEFUL death (LIKE John) as bishop of Marseilles in southern France. We are NEVER told in the "New Testament" what became of him after Christ's Ascension, and NONE of the Epistles even refer to him. UNLESS one is referring to his possible identity as JOHN. Coincidentally with the mention of Peter in this "Gospel" as "son of JOHN", the first epistle of Peter 5:13 refers to "MY SON Mark"; presumably the JOHN MARK who is so closely associated with him at the beginning of the "Acts of the Apostles".

    • @richarddemuth7077
      @richarddemuth7077 ปีที่แล้ว

There are "two Johns'" in the "Gospels" because ONE ("the son of Zebedee and brother of James") is the ALIAS for the OTHER (JOHN "MARK" the SON of Simon); the NEPHEW of JAMES and his brothers, INCLUDING Jesus. And Jesus DIDN'T "rebuke Zebedee" for vindictive comments, who WASN'T even recorded as being one of his disciples. He rebuked the "BROTHERS" James and John the "SONS" of Zebedee. There was NO MORE likely to have been a "JAMES the SON of Zebedee" than a JOHN. The "James" referred to is the ALTER EGO of JAMES the brother of JESUS and SON of Alafas and uncle of JOHN (Mark). The BOTTOM LINE the "Professor" apparently doesn't understand or realize is:
The Christianity Cult was a CONSPIRACY, and in CONSPIRACIES you COVER UP the facts by DISTORTION!! 😎
      .

    • @richarddemuth7077
      @richarddemuth7077 ปีที่แล้ว

I might as well finish with adding that the other peculiarity of the "Jamesian epistle" is that he writes to the "Twelve TRIBES in the Dispersion"... But there WEREN'T twelve "Tribes" by THAT time. There was only the "JUDES"/Jews and the "LEVITES". The other TEN were defunct. So the author was clearly being symbolical/allegorical. "Coincidentally", if we deduct Matthew LEVI as being a son of Alphaeus from a prior wife and not of Mary, and we deduct JUDAS Iscariot as being a traitorous suicide, then that leaves TEN of the originally TWELVE apostles. Yet (ANOTHER peculiarity) "James" DOESN'T assert OR reenforce his "authority" as alleged "Chief of the Church" in place of Christ by identifying himself in the opening as "James the BROTHER of JESUS Christ....." (as he's referred to by Josephus in the EARLIEST NON-Christian source mention of him), but rather as "James A SERVANT of JESUS Christ..." He COULD have called himself BOTH.
IF there HAD been ANOTHER James of the Apostles (such as the son of Zebedee and brother of John), you would think this James would want to identify WHICH he was as author of the epistle. MAYBE, a FORGER thought calling himself "James the BROTHER (and Servant) of JESUS CHRIST" sounded too similar to the ALLEGED Josephus reference to him as "James the BROTHER of JESUS called 'CHRIST'..." and MIGHT indicate the FORGER of the epistle was the INTERPOLATOR of what was the LATER INSERTION of the UNspecified "James accusation" in Josephus' text of the "Judish Antiquities".
IF SO, I would BET it was Origenes, who placed a FALSELY high value on James by claiming that Josephus attributed in his History the destruction of Jerusalem and the 🏛️ to the EXECUTION OF JAMES by the Jews!! NOT TO the death of Christ!

James, the "brother" of Jesus is indeed the beloved disciple cuz both grew up together in the "blended" family of immaculate Mary and her spouse Joseph. "The one he loved" is in john's gospel, and John's authorial intrusion at the end of his gospel shows he and the "beloved" are two separate persons. (The beloved was the one who told him the final moments of the crucifixion and even wrote down crucial points so there would b no errors.) Very likely, the sons of Zebedee were NOT present in the crucifixion. Present on their behalf was only their mother (referred too variously as Mary, mother of James, or "the wife of Zebedee"). In the crucifixion scene is: 1) Mary Magdalene, 2) Jesus' mother, 3) this mother's sister, Mary of cleopas😊, and 4) Mary of Zebedee. Perhaps, only the beloved disciple was so dear to Jesus because he alone knew the truth behind what was perceived by the public as the large family of Joseph and Mary, with the 6 additional children that came after Jesus. (These additions kept up appearances of normality for the Holy family as the precocious Jesus was growing up.) Happy Easter to all!

I believe that if Jesus was the "Prophet like unto Moses", then it applies in many ways. If Moses is the template, then just as Aaron is the older brother of Moses, in my opinion, Jesus is the younger brother of James. James was the leader of the Nazarene Jews after Jesus' ascension. The Nazarenes (the contemporaries of Jesus and the Apostles) according to Epiphanius believed Jesus to be the naturally conceived and born son of Mary and Joseph.

My reply: My authority is my God-given right as an American to freely voice my opinion if that is what you are getting at, and in my initial statement I said it is my opinion more than once.
If you are asking about my "authority" as in am I a degreed theologian? No. But, I read, research, and think. Everything a degreed theologian has as far as information can be found by anyone on the internet...so, "my" authority really doesn't matter if I can make a logical defense for my statements...using the same references that are available to anyone, if they want to dig for it.
Now, if you misspoke about authority and are asking about the references to back up my opinion, that is something else.
      - The "Prophet like unto Moses" reference comes from Moses himself. If you want chapters and verses, I can provide them, or you can research them yourself.
      - The "Prophet like unto Moses" is covered in greater detail by Peter in the Clementine Literature (Rec and Hom). I can provide the book number and chapter of Peter's explanation, or you can look it up yourself.
      - James the Just as being a brother of Jesus, is pretty much undisputed.
      - That Jesus was born of Mary and Joseph (natural conception and birth) are found in the Clementines as well as in the Panarion of Epiphanius. I can provide the book/part/section numbers...or you can do as I did and research it yourself.
      - That "Jesus as being the younger brother of James" is found in the logic of Jesus "being like unto Moses", that just doesn't mean he is only a "Prophet", that corresponds to life situation similarities as well.
      - That "Jesus as being the younger brother of James" is found in the pattern theme found throughout the OT of the "first" followed by the "second" (Cain/Abel, Ishmael/Issac, Esau/Jacob, Aaron/Moses, Shear-Jashub and Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz (Immanuel), James/Jesus).
      - Regarding the Nazarenes as being the Jewish sect to which Jesus, James, and the Apostles belonged, that is found in the Panarion of Epiphanius.
I hope that answered the "authority" question, if not, give me a little more direction so I can reply appropriately.

The same new name we all receive at our miracle new birth. Rev. 3:12. As Isaiah 53 says he lived a long life and saw his seed. John was the promised seed of David who prepared the way for the Spirit of truth as noted in Isaiah 40:3. LORD in hebrew is the Father, or the Spirit of truth, that speaks the Word to his prophets/sons or as most know him as the Holy Spirit. The Father has many spirits not just one. All of Davids seed are called to be the anointed ones as Psalm 18:50 and other verses say.

HE WAS THE OLDER HALF (STEP) BROTHER OF JESUS AND WAS A CHILD OF ST. JOSEPH BEFORE MARRIAGE TO MARY. IN FACT, THESE HALF - STEP SIBLINGS WERE ALL OLDER THAN JESUS AND THE CGILDREN OF JOSEPH FROM A PREVIOUS DECEASED WIFE. AND WHY IS IT SO IMPOSSIBLE TO BELIEVE THAT MARY WAS A PERPETUAL VIRGIN? NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD! MR. TABOR, DON'T YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES?

How can Jesus be the Messiah when he is not of David's line? Joseph was credited to be from David's line but he is not the father of Jesus. And if he was, Mary didn't have a virgin birth.

Bible says May brought forth her FIRST born son. You only have a first born if others are also born to the woman. If Jesus was her only son then the wording would have been her only begotten son. She had other children after Jesus, with Joseph as their father.
