The voters for this series did not respect deliver nearly enough as an archetype. It's been the best deck in the format for the better part of 12 years for a reason
Jamin played well but he had a though opposition against none other than the hero of the people ... ANDREA !! Also, I am again realizing that consistency is, again, king in these matchups ... that;s the main weakness of combo decks like breach storm. Still, it was a good matchup. PS: I would like to see a match between andrea and Carl using the deck that won against ... THE SUN !
This video doesn't do breech justice, that was by far the worst Breech deck to possibly pilot. The real Breech combo was a UWR deck with Silence and Force of Will backup that formed a one card combo with Intuition. You'd cast Intuition at intant speed for the missing pieces of Underworld Breech, Lion's Eye Diamond, Brain Freeze, and Sevinne's Reclamation. With that on your opponent's turn, it then untaps and wins on the following turn by milling itself, then looping Lighting Bolt to deal lethal, no storm necessary. It could then pivot to Jeskai Mentor(a teir one aggro deck at the time) and completely ignore the graveyard. When I was playtesting my match win rate was a bit over 70%, absolutely unhinged levels powerful.
Jeskai was more of a metagame version. In a blank field, the grixis version with all its discard was MUCH stronger in the blind, which we really saw in the Swiss. I don't know if the jeskai version would have made the top8
The first ponder i think i would have played as draw tarn, brainfreeze on top. Turn 2 tutor for a lotus petal, if its countered thats okay youre drawinf preordain, if not. Turn 3 duress breach petal petal brain freeze yourself for 15, petal petal freeze repeat
The black version is much better in this field, disruption is key :) we very much saw that in the Swiss rounds leading up to the top 8, I'm not sure the jeskai list could have made it to the video rounds
Ok, next we do vintage, I guess pioneer, and then maybe a few more boutique unofficial formats. After that the next logical step is to pit all the winners against each other!
Unfortunately that would just be too many videos on the same topic. I think we reached the perfect amount of videos with 7. As soon as we do too much of the same thing, the viewers lose interest and the views tank :/

Breach storm is going to mash everything else into thr ground. Deck was legal for 5 minutes. Maybe if deliver gets unnerfed Lurrus?
You are severely underestimating delvers ability to shut off combo decks
Breach was more a control deck that combos out of nowhere, and was largely fine vs delver
This aged poorly
Oh they played the worst breach deck I've seen
The jeskai deck was so much better
This age of delver was very good tho
Such a good match! It just goes to show you, legacy isnt all combos haha!
THE SUN !
I wasnt playing legacy while breach was legal but now I understand the horror stories
When I was playtesting my match win rate was a bit over 70%, absolutely unhinged levels powerful.
sad to see Jamin lose this one.. he deserved the win!
how do you select which lists to use? iirc jeskai was a lot more popular and broken in breach days, but i could be missing something for sure
The Jeskai version of breach was the one that got it banned. Deck was insane.
The black version is much better in this field, disruption is key :) we very much saw that in the Swiss rounds leading up to the top 8, I'm not sure the jeskai list could have made it to the video rounds
Woohoo mengu!!! Delver best deck
i was biting my nails for the last match!
Yeeeeee❤ legacy baybay!!!
seeing the storm pop off was super cool! Unfortunate that the delver deck won.
Ok, next we do vintage, I guess pioneer, and then maybe a few more boutique unofficial formats. After that the next logical step is to pit all the winners against each other!
6:00 is it still a mana ability even though you can only activate as an instant? Huh. The know you more.
It's too bad we only get to see some decks a single matchup. You could consider starting with small round robins for the decks. Like in the world cup.
Unfortunately that would just be too many videos on the same topic. I think we reached the perfect amount of videos with 7. As soon as we do too much of the same thing, the viewers lose interest and the views tank :/
