    Good overview. Unfortunately there’s an error at 3:57. Caffè Crema is a black drink, no milk. It’s a longer pull through the puck. The default recipes of Philips machines with screens are Ristretto 30 ml, Espresso 40 ml, Coffee 120 ml, Caffè Crema 140 ml.

    I find it interesting that the 4300 LatteGo is "new" to USA, but has been offered in Europe for several years and is now being replaced by the 5400 LatteGo. I believe Canada has the newer 5400 model available now, for anybody who cares to cross the border to get something newer than the 4300.

      You can buy the 5400 in the US. I have one. It appears to be an exclusive to one California-based national chain.

    Really enjoy all the videos. I bought the 4300 last week from you guys after a lot of research, but I only have one issue that maybe you can help me with. Under my user profile settings, I choose to make 2 cups for an Americano in the morning. Even though it says it has saved my settings to the blue or green profile, the next time I go back to make the same drink, it defaults back to 1 cup. Any advice on what I could be doing wrong? I'm super happy with my purchase other than this little hiccup. Thanks in advance for your help.

    The 3200 EP3241/74 is marketed as being able to make ice coffees, and the 3200 EP3241/54 doesn’t make the same claim. People often say ice coffee just regular coffee poured over ice. What does the EP3241/74 do to make ice coffee that special or different from just coffee poured over ice? Why can’t the EP3241/54 make ice coffee if it’s just regular coffee over ice?

      The iced coffee function brews at a lower temp and with a longer extraction when compared to the standard coffee setting. If you drink a lot of iced coffee, I'd say it's a worthwhile feature.

    Do you “have to” regards replace the filters, even if you use filtered water (e.g., reverse osmosis)? How much do the “8 to 9” filters required between descaling cost? Do these machines have the option of an extra shot?

    • @OMGWTFLOLSMH
      @OMGWTFLOLSMH 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The filters are optional. If you have great water, why spend the extra money on more filters? How many times do you need to filter your water? We have super soft water where we live in the PNW and we've never used a filter on our Saeco superautomatic in 9 yrs of ownership. Descale once or twice a year and that's it. We often get compliments on our coffee from this machine.

    If there is only one hopper, do you have to replace the beans in the hopper each time you want to switch between espresso based drinks (i.e. Cappuchino's) and drinks that require just regular coffeee beans (i.e. americano)? If yes, how easy is it to switch out beans, since most grinders have beans already down in the Bur Grinder. If not, than what am I missing here, since I see a likely need for 2 different types of beans, but only 1 hopper.

  • @kevingok
    @kevingok 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Interesting the 3200 appears to produce the same drink as the 4300 but with more liquid volume as seen at 13:40.

    • @OMGWTFLOLSMH
      @OMGWTFLOLSMH 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They use the same guts (boiler/brew group), so any variation is an anomaly to those particular machines, probably due to the various sensors that regulate these settings. For all intents and purposes, they should brew at the same speed and at the same temp and volume, within a minor percentage variation.

    Who needs screen for “convenient” change of brightness, watter hardness or temp.? You set them once and forget about it. Its not like you take the machine under your arm and carry it all over the places 🤷🏻
    Still great review. Have 3200 for 5 years, its fast and easy, but those machines above 1000 with manual thumping produce better coffee, they have more real control. Also 12 grinder settings is a bit marketing trick, its more like 3 you can tell the difference

    Nice video but a few issues with Philip’s which made simplicity its motto decades ago. Why a 10 oz bean capacity when standard bean bags in the USA are 12 oz? Why no timer to preheat when I get up in the morning? Very pedestrian features compared to other automatic machines for up to 50% lower price?

      Non-dairy is unlikely to produce a thick enough froth, so I assume it won’t work very well. The bubbles will be too big and they’ll pop before you get a chance to enjoy the drink. Kind of like dish detergent bubbles.
