The market place builds are more relatable than the expensive giveaway. It’s more fun to watch you build and run something that we all might have in our garages and don’t have the skills, money or time to do what you do.
I used to watch Obsessed garage, Matt was giving away Porsche’s. The winners almost all sold the car after a year when the tax came due. My favorite Adam LZ videos are when he does something to his moms or dad’s cars without them knowing about it.
3 or 4 giveaways a years may be all that will keep people’s attention.

Common issues are TPS sensors, crank position sensor on the Xj. Also check the unibody around the steering box for cracks, very common problem with lifted, neglected Xj's. The cluster probably just needs to be pushed back in as well, take trim off and make sure the screws holding it in are there, very easy fix.

Also wiring issues. Green death in the connectors. My buddies last xj, first he lost his tail lights, then stuff in the dash started getting wierd, and then it wouldn't run anymore. Turns out the bulk head connector was all corroded with the green death.

I’m an XJ enthusiast! This brought me back to your channel! Dropping the tank is easy for a fuel pump job. And should be a plastic tank. Careful if the pump connector, they break easy. Always when buying one. Change the TPS, CPS. Your tune up you did helps big time on these 4.0’s. AW4 Toyota transmission. If it throws a torque converter lock up code it’s most likely the NSS. Good time to do the shift solenoids and filter too. With that lift, tires, “street lock” pro comp wheels, 9”, d44 trussed, skid plate, that whole deal. That’s recipe XJ stuff that some dream of. Easily 10k that shape in my area. As far as the cluster, check the connection on the back of it. They are known to quit in that area too. Not saying that’s what it is. Got yourself a SWEET JEEP!
    🤘🏼😁🇺🇸

My father had 1993 Jeep Cherokee sport 2Dr model. He passed away in 2012 and the Jeep sat at our hunting camp for 10yrs before my son and I decided to start using it. The fuel tank and pump were so rotted that I had to replace both. Then the fuel pressure regulator was leaking and had to replace that and then the fuel line. The pressure regulator about half the size of a ping pong ball was $100 alone. All in all, after replacing a lot of rubber and ignition parts, it runs good. After sitting that long you might as well go through it with a fine tooth comb so you don’t get stranded. The thing with any Jeep is that you can really go down a rabbit hole with mods. It’s a lot of fun and so far, reliable. Good luck and enjoy.

Make sure you rebuild the oil filter adapter. The o rings are prone to going out. Also check your trans cooler lines to make sure they aren't rubbing anywhere. Just from personal experience.

I've had multiple xjs and the gauges shut off often. Smack the dash, gauges come back no problem. And sometimes they run hot under heavier loads. Cruising down the highway the heat gauge would start to creep. slow down a little and would cool back down. Turns out that the 4.0 coolant passages were cast poorly and have debris that dislodge and clog shit up. A block flush, new radiator and water pump seem to do the trick. After that cruising at 80mph or hard bogging runs nice and cool. My 96 and 2000 were both this way.

I had an 87 2 door XJ. I had it all snorkeled up, took it through my buddies mud hole, had water halfway up the windshield. A couple days later it would do the same thing as yours, run down the road and quit. Give it 20mins and it would start right up. When I took it swimming it got a bunch of muddy water in through the gas tank vent. The mud/silt would plug the filter sock, after it sat for a bit it would unplug the sock and start right back up.

Many years ago my dad bought an 87 Jeep wagoneer for 100 bucks! It was basically the same as the cherokee. It would randomly shut off while driving, like if you cut the key. we had gone through SO much trying to figure it out. We literally replaced almost EVERYTHING including the crank sensor, tps, checked all power and grounds ect.. we found that is still had spark and if you pulled the main coil wire off and pulled it far enough away the spark would no longer jump the gap while cranking then brought it back in range it would fire right back up... It made no sense, the injectors would just stop being triggered by the ecu and doing that with the coil somehow someway made it start every time. We even replaced the ecu with a used one and it did the exact same thing. We put almost 50k miles on it like that. It would do it maybe twice every hundred miles or so.. you could let it sit for a half hour and it would fire back up. Or pull the coil wire and wiggle it out in the air and it worked every time 😂

When I lived in Colorado, I had a 98 TJ 4.0 5-speed that I bought for $6500 with 39k miles (In 2019), I sold it a year later with 80k miles on it for $6k to move back to Florida and I absolutely miss that thing. My original plan when I was in Colorado was to sell my OBS Tahoe and buy an XJ to have something a little bit more comfortable as a daily over the TJ

I think Trevor as an video idea is that you and Rudnik both agree to a certain amount to spend on each other buy a car for the other person and in a week modify the car any way you want and at the end of the week you get together and race yalls cars against each other ! I know other TH-cam channels have done this but not none of the cool channels have done it yet tho ! Like You ,Rudnik , LZ , Jimmy , and alot of the others im not gonna list !
