    Just got me a new set of front slotted brake performance rotor and pads for my suv installed today at home. Big improvement for sure, My vehicle stops much faster and a lot shorter distance than before from the stock. I didn't change the back set because all the heavy lifting is done in the front as the weight shifts to the front more during the brake. So I just kept the rear stock.

    So, I installed the kit on all 4 about 6 months ago. Bought from you guys. A month ago the front driver side caliper locked, and destroyed the the rotor and pads. I called you guys, and of course you push the easy button and refer me the powerstop. (keep in mind this is my daily driver), with no parts to go out to buy. They kept me dangling for 4 weeks. Then, instead on a complete replacement, they send me 1 rotor, and a set of brake pads. ( Before they sent it, I had already purchased another front set from you guys, as waiting was not an option.) Anyway, unstuck the caliper, installed complete, and so far all is good in la la land.
    Just thought to share my experience. Once I wear them out, and its time for new, I'll invest somewhere else.

      Damn, did you have these put on an F-150, or F-250?

      @@alanpetersen4497 I put them on my 2013 F150 Fx4. So today, I just installed a whole new front set. The same caliper just locked up. Shame on PowerStop for not doing it right the first time. Thanks to American Trucks for a quick turn around on shipping. I still think powerstop makes a decent set of brakes for the money, but their Cust. Sat is poooor

    Great Video! I just got my set of Powerstops in for my front brakes. Excited to swap out the oems! This video helps break down the process, great job! I’ll be doing a brake fluid change as well, I’m going to run the amsoil brake fluid. 🤙🏽

      Same here, I'll be changing out all the old fluid with the amsoil brake fluid too. I bought a new set of upgrade slotted brake rotor and ceramic pads for the front. All installed at home. Did the break in cycle and all is great. I notice a big improvement in stopping distance. No more worrying about swerving out of the way to avoid front end collision. My suv weighs about 4000lbs so this upgrade really shortens the distance a lot and much quicker too.

    How exactly does a vented drill hole help with dissipating heat when it's just venting heat directly onto the brake pad? To me, that just negate dissipating heat away from the brake pads.

    Worthwhile upgrade over factory especially running larger tires compared to stock size. Only issue wasn't with the kit, but rather removing the rotors from my F150 since I live in a climate with a lot of snow ie salt and mag chloride on the roads in the winter. No amount of hammering or PB Blaster was loosening those old rotors.

      So how did you finally get them to loosen up?

    My only concern is adaptability to ABS systems. Awesome look!

      @MTBing4LIFE ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ABS works with the tone rings on the wheel bearings. Nothing to do with calipers and rotors/pads

    spec-wise, is there any reason to use these calipers over the factory calipers? Seems like a bit of lipstick on a pig that just about doubles the cost of the kit for some red paint.

    • @iphone3gsdivine
      @iphone3gsdivine ปีที่แล้ว +1

      only if your oem calipers need to be replaced this is an cheaper option for some vehicles.

    • @kylegeldmaker
      @kylegeldmaker ปีที่แล้ว

      @@iphone3gsdivine Just to be clear, there's no performance or mechanical benefit from changing working factory calipers to these?

    • @justinmpanderson
      @justinmpanderson ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @kylegeldmaker The primary mechanical benefit of the powder coated calipers is the added corrosion-resistance of the calipers themselves. There are no added performance benefits such as increased stopping power/cooling. If you do not need to replace working factory calipers and have no interest in the cosmetic aspect, the complete front/rear brake kit would give you the performance upgrade needed at half the cost.

    How are PowerStop brakes compared to Brembo and WilWood brakes?

    • @americantrucks
      @americantrucks  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      PowerStop brake kits like these are a great option if you are looking to upgrade your brakes from the factory for higher performance while staying on a budget! Big brake kits from Brembo and Wilwood will give you even better braking performance, but will close almost twice as much. They are much higher performance in general. -Zach

    So, yesterday, the other caliper has locked up. That's two. I am an old man and do not drive my truck rough. I will have to start to replace with another manufacturer. What a waste of time, money, and my labor.
