Hats off to your dealer who sponsors this. More dealers should and take advantage of mod money. Have a warranty for work but not on how mod affects car. I know most dealers do not mod as you open a can of worms on warranty items on parts and work.
Again, love the work. Finally had the time to do some maintenance on my Si yesterday. I needed to replace my upper radiator hose and was trying to be lazy but was inspired by your work and did the job right. It took much longer than I wanted but the work was done right. Thanks for the inspiration and love the progress of this project. 👍
Great job guys, the old Civic is in good condition for it's age and you have made it even better, have to disagree with Jon saying he's driving on the wrong side of the car, he is just where he should be on the right side! 👏😂 John UK sitting in the 'right' side of my SLK 😎
Great video; it resonates with me because I don’t care so much about cosmetics but you all go the absolute extra mile and make things perfect which for me is a lot of fun to watch. The only input I have is usually the OEM (and usually rare and discontinued) parts you remove and replace are still in decent condition most times. I know you all like things perfect so my only input is save those parts and sell them because even if they don’t fit the bill for you all, I bet there’s people who have broken or flat out missing parts and would kill for the parts you take off your vehicles. Just a thought!
Those RED EM1 Si’s are so hard to find. That one looks amazing. I regret selling my Blue 2000. Owned it from 0 to 105k and traded it in for the EP3. I hate myself
Man you guys make this look so easy. I replaced upper/lower control arms, lower ball joints, struts and brakes on my daughters 06 TL took all day and kicked my ass.
Surprised no one mentioned the clocking of the trailing arm bushing. As suspension compresses or ride height changes, that TA bushing gets twisted. I would have lowered the car first, marked the through plate angle on the trailing arm, then installed the new bushing to match the clocking angle needed with the lowered ride height.
Its a bit hard for me to formulate but i try : pushing the rear trailing arm bushing in, do you refer to something to incline the bushing at the right angle or eye balling it is enough ? Your videos are awesome to watch you are very rigorous in everything you do
@@vteckillerfa5 sorry i didnt mean this angle lol, its the angle of the flat metal part of the bushing that makes contact with the frame when being bolted. It has to be near 0 degree to the frame when pushed in i think for not putting twisting force on the bushing when you bolt it. I hope you see what i mean 😂 thanks for you response !
Yeah it really should be clocked for the ride height to keep it from being preloaded twisted. If they’re going to lower the car I would have waited until then to mark the angle of the plate on the trailing arm, so that the new bushing could be clocked the same way during installation.
Quick question! I have a 2000 Honda Civic Hatchback with the EK9 Civic Type R 5lug conversion. Will the oem brakes & rotors from a USDM Acura Integra Type R works on my car?
Hello Team AHC. I know this is an old post but hoping you can help me with part numbers on the Brake Discs and Pads. I have an EK9 5 lug conversion on my 00 Civic Sedan and in need of some OEM replacements. 42510-ST7-R00: Rear Discs, but no longer available, is there an alternate OEM part number? 43022-S84-A51: Rear Brake Pads, OK 45251-SZ3-000: Front Discs, OK What is the Part number for the Front Brake Pads? I screen shot the segment showing all the parts, but the other box (assuming its the Front Brake Pads) is not clear. Really appreciate the help in advance. More power to your channel and God Bless.
Brake hose was a nice touch. Didn't like though when you sprayed brake cleaner on the hose connection and some of the paint on the inner wheel well came off
Hello guys ! I was looking to order a nice Subframe brace and rear control arm kit for my 4 door 1999 sedan. I was wondering if they are the same as the hatch and coupe ? Thanks !!
I love how they updated the piping, but kept the stock airbox. Everyone should know, the stock airbox is better than any cold air intake. The cold air intake has been debunked by mighty car mods TH-cam channel. With 1-3 horsepower gain. Negligible, if you ask me.
I have an 06' Ex coupe auto that I deliver with. I've only done 2 mods to mine. Anti-Gravity lightweight 51R battery and AFE drop in dry filter. Other than those I have taken out my spare tire, front seat, both sway bars and swapped out the heavy 16's for 15 inch wheels from the hybrid. The car is actually decently quick now.

The Driving feel of this Civic Type R will be off the chart!

amazing as always
Thank you
Always enjoying your vids..
Much appreciate it
Great job Jon and Mike!!! 👍
Thanks as always!!!
Don’t use anti seize on the glide pins. Anti seize is petroleum based and will cause the pin boots to swell and eventually fail.
Can you use the honda urea high temp grease for this ?
I always use high temp grease on brake pins, always always on every brake job I’ve done in the last 20 years.
I always use 3M silicone paste. Suppose to be water proof.
I need to buy an EK9 asap!
You should
arent the trailing arms bushings a tapered fit? i thought you had to press them out the other way and go in the way you did it
AHC is G O L D 🙌😁
Thanks!!!
Thanks for the video bro! Tell us about yourself 😉

Its a bit hard for me to formulate but i try : pushing the rear trailing arm bushing in, do you refer to something to incline the bushing at the right angle or eye balling it is enough ? Your videos are awesome to watch you are very rigorous in everything you do
It’s a bit of eyeballing. You can see if it is moving evenly or not.

Polyurethane, not silicone for the compliance bushing

Ya I had the slider bold stick on my Honda too. I don't think we put anti seize on it and will do next time.
Cheers!!

This was my brothers old hatch . Looks like it had a rough life after he restored it
What is the name of this magnetic lamp?
Milwaukee 445 Lumens LED REDLITHIUM USB Rover Pocket Flood Light
The rear trailing arm bushing actually comes out faster and easier if you wack it with a hammer from the inside out.
Never done that
Do you think it would make the rubber bits last longer if sprayed with a silicone spray lubricant?
On some cases, yes.
Maybe the wire is for the bushing so its not fall to the ground

Y’all need to offer dry ice cleaning and clean up while all is apart. Dirty.
We have been doing quite a bit of research on dry ice cleaning. Quite pricey but very effective.
That what I was afraid of "Exterior cosmetic"
Look perfect already, leave it out to be
