My youngest son died just a few days over a year ago. We understand that rain falling. For a year I’ve been going over every failure I’ve made as a father. He was a very good son, a month before his 39th birthday. I go to Isaiah 57:1-2 and comfort myself remembering that our times are in God’s hands. It’s a pain that I have never felt before and it is a refining fire to lose your offspring. I’ve felt loss but never before have I felt the loss of my youngest son. The wound is fresh. The scab is easily pulled off. He was a very special young man. Sometimes pain is cleansing but it’s not fun. It’s a refiners fire.
My heart goes out to you because I know this kind of pain. It will be three years next month that I lost my only son. It has changed me forever. Please know that you're not alone in your grief. Sending love and prayers ❤️ 🙏
I'm sorry to hear. If hes like me, life is just too hard, depression is too strong. I'm planning my way out now, tried medication, therapy etc but I'm broken

I've learned to love a rainy day and to find the beauty in the water. Water, is life. Water is rejuvenation. It's refreshing. I've found in my darkest unemployed moments, that I love to see the rain on my window. It makes me appreciate the window, it makes me appreciate the beauty of the rain drops, trickling down the glass.

Amen to all this; as much as a rain is a welcome thing for a garden or farmer's field, so that it may grow, we too need a little icky weather to keep us healthy and growing. If everything in life were basic and easy, we'd not be learning new things, and we'd not have the right amount of pressures on us to stay physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually fit. It may seem inconvenient or annoying, but too long without it, we're weak, weary, bored and lacking in interactions needed. Lordy Dewayne, this video hit hard. Today it's raining at my house also, North of Billings. Dewayne, my place of business, I have been at for almost two decades. Is cutting back on their workforce. At 56yrs old, not sure if my experience and knowledge of the job, Is enough. 15 years I was a ranch hand. My bride said, we are going to have a family. Crap,, did not see that coming. I went to work as a millwright, at a mine. Never was underground before then. Dewayne, it's raining now. Wish I had a good plan. To old to cowboy, cowboying doesn't have insurance anyway. Thought I had my retirement figured out. Looks like a new chapter is about to open.
Thank you for this.❤ When I was younger, I was never a fan of cloudy over cast days. Still kinda am not. But! These days, if rain is involved I enjoy it. I married a woman who LOVES rainy days and she has taught me to appreciate rainy days. Rain is the bringer of life. And indeed it gives us all a chance to slow down abit reflect and enjoy life.
Thank you for this Sir! Going through a rough time right now. But I will make it! Trying to slow down and be thankful! God Bless you and everyone at Dry Creek!😇🙏

i live in southern Az and watch all your videos with admiration and appreciation. we domt have storms down here. just heat. thank you sir for all you do.
Thank you for this video. Even if the school slows down next year, I hope you keep sharing your thoughts with us about life, the universe, and everything.
It seems like everything you just said really hit on everything that I had been trying to articulate to myself the past few days, for various reasons and because of a variety of people/situations. This really said it. Cheers, Dewayne, you are a true source of down to earth wisdom.
I enjoy all days. You enjoy summer much more when you've had to hike 10 miles on snowshoes in deep powder. Without challenges, we lose sight of how unique the earth is. Sitting by the fire loses meaning if that is all you do. Sanctuary is only found in the struggle.
Understanding depression is not a great skill to have. I've had that skill for way too long. I am trying, harder now that I did when I was a younger man, to pick up the skill to learn how to enjoy.
I'm watching this while sick, not able to do anything more than sit at home all day. I hate being sick. I miss my friends. But I also know why I got sick, I have been so stressed out that my body stopped functioning and the second any kind of illness came to me my body couldn't fight it.
Lots of great advice. Although we cannot control the events that unfold in our lives, we CAN control how we react to them. Enjoy your day....and that fine cigar!
I thank you sincerely for this video. This came at a perfect time. I am in the middle of moving and it is incredibly stressful as many things are not falling into place at the time that is needed. I am very far away from family, and thus it is on my back to do all the work. So from managing the transfer of my next job to moving to returning back to the US, I have been overly stressed and frustrated. But this is a great reminder to me. That although these storms are blowing they're blowing for a reason and I should try to be grateful for them. At least I have a job to move to, at least I have an able body myself to do this work, at least I have the finances needed as small as they are to do what I need to do. There is much to be grateful for even in the rain.
Thank you for sharing your love for poetry. That poem really spoke to me. I have always loved poetry from a young age and have written some myself. One of my favorite poets is William Cullen Bryant. Love all your content and wisdom. Thanks for all you do. I need to try and find that poetry book.

You're always an inspiration. I appreciate you so much
Have to go through the storm to get to the calm... So yo say. Much Love and Respect Sir... 🫡✌️🙏🙌🫶🪖😎
Thanks for the life lesson.always good to get me thinking.
No way I was just listening to that song
I really needed to hear this right now, its raining heavily for me right now. It's almost eerie that this video came out only now.
Oh my this dropped at the perfect moment in my life.....thank you so much...😥
I thank you sincerely for this video.
Hallelujah for rain and poetry, it keeps the place green.
Nothing like knowing what you love!
Thank you for sharing your love for poetry. That poem really spoke to me. I have always loved poetry from a young age and have written some myself. One of my favorite poets is William Cullen Bryant. Love all your content and wisdom. Thanks for all you do. I need to try and find that poetry book.
I'm going through a divorce right now. I needed this. Thank you.❤
Daily poems spoken by Dewayne would be great!
I'm praying for rain. I'm praying for cooler weather. I pray.
