      "pushing boundaries"? Hardly. It's very good music, but it's pretty retro. Check out "avant garde" jazz. It's only about 50 yrs old...

    Tatum Greenblatt is acutally the son of my private teacher, Daniel Greenblatt. Go check out more of their stuff! I remember earlier this year, Alexa Tarantino and Marcus Printup came to my highschool when they were playing at the Paramount in Seattle. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME jazz scene up in Seattle. All jokes aside, this is an amazing recording. I love all their stuff.

    Awesome!! I just got a trumpet, I notice Tatum doesn't use the tuning slide, and he sounds freaking cool so I'm guessing it would be fine to learn the trumpet without using the slide?
    You guys rock!!

    • @chrisr4277
      @chrisr4277 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      iirc the main tuning slide is for general adjustments before playing, valve slides are for adjustments while playing if you need to, so you'll still need to interact with them. I'm not a trumpet player but there's a comparable system for most wind based instruments

    • @stonex3077
      @stonex3077 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Slide is for tuning only, please use valves to play different notes

    • @audimaster5000
      @audimaster5000 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dunno because I don’t play trumpet.
      However, I’d suggest checking out Monette trumpet mouthpieces. As I understand it they make ‘em’ so the horn and player generally don’t have to adjust pitch throughout the range. Good stuff!

    • @rekindled3624
      @rekindled3624 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unless you play a long note don't worry about it

    • @frederickhill7181
      @frederickhill7181 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      3rd valve tuning slide is for low D and C#, low G and F#, which are very sharp otherwise. Some older trumpets don't have it; then you have to lip down.
