They need to turn that thang up. Jazz guitar is so quiet. It lacks presence. When you hear the sax, you know what's up. They need to give the guitar a bit more kick; be with timbre, clarity, and/or tone. make it the momentary star during its time taking the melody. Obviously if you bump the distortion, you got jazz fusion, which _this_ is not. Get someone like Django Reinhardt who knew how to make his guitar stand out, and I don't mean using his gypsy jazz style neither.
Erena is channeling the sax masters of the past. Almost makes me believe in reincarnation. As for Emmet, Winard and the others, they are among the very best jazz musicians in the world today.
I met Erena playing one morning in NYC's Central Park in April 2021. I will always remember that April in my most memorable moments! Promising sax player, I loved her sound!
Came across this video by accident - what a luck! So happy to realize, that jazz is still living and kicking! Frits from Denmark (jazzfan since 1947 - heard Ellington live 1950...)
Erena is an amazing/inspiring saxophonist : truly a one of kind .. Her sound technique and ideas are breath taking . I could listen to her all day , ...the band is outstanding .. .. so glad i ran across this video .G S
Explosive, communicative drumming, beautiful, lyrical guitar tone (on a solid-body no less), and some killer hard-bop alto playing on display. Emmet keeps on showcasing the endless talent, young and old, that NYC has to offer!

What a fabulous Set - Emmet has become my favorite Pianist around today! That Drummer! He's so awesome - never misses a beat and responds to the moment! In fact, the entire group is simply awesome!!!
I’ve listened to 2:10 more times than I can count, Erena’s technical skill is out of this world! That flying 8th note line straight into the bridge is so awesome!
Great musicians, all of them, but Erena Terakubo on alto sax is just AMAZING in her playing. Truly wonderful, with heart and bones where heart and bones shall be. This you can hear, in her playing...
