I was in middle school when I first heard Slow Dog. I don't know when music stopped with real meaning and depth in lyric and art. We had it really good in the 90's and had no idea it wouldn't last.
Star was one of my fave albums in 90s. After soaking in some of the olden shtuff, it was nice to hear good new AND REAL material after all these. Those living in the touring cities should be extra grateful.
Love Love Love their album STAR!!! From beginning til end. Takes me right back to that time in my life!! Actually, the first time in my life that I ever got stoned, Star was the album I listened to with my roommate in college freshman year in 1993!! I am now 48 and was listening to that record yesterday which brought me here now!!
This is great stuff! I first saw Radiohead live, when they were the OPENING act for Belly in early 1993 at the Cameo Theatre (RIP) in South Beach (Miami Beach). Both bands blew my mind and let's just say my life changed for the better than night...
I saw them at the DC show of this tour - they rocked the house! Plenty of old-school fans were there to cheer them on! I hope to see them again sometime soon!
I used to work at Villains Clothing store on Haight St in San Francisco from the mid to late 90's. In April of 1995, Chris Gorman, the drummer came in and wanted to buy a pair of expensive sunglasses. I told him I would give him a discount if he put me on the guest list for the Belly show that night at the Warfield. He took my name down and told me that myself and a +1 would be on the guest list. Me and my friend Tripp went down to the theater not really confident that Chris would be true to his word. Sure enough we were both on the list and they were floor seats and not up in the nose bleed section! Belly were awesome that night!
Univercity was the pik (with/without Tanya Donelly). Muses is diamond of female rock, off course...& we love all of them: Belly, Muses, Breeders, Kim, Tanya & Kristin... ....& special tnxs to 4AD & Ivo, ha-ha..
yeah, this is pretty great. Nice coincidence that I literally just came across "Untogether" by way of watching Courtney Barnet & Kurt Vile. I think all of my favorite music has led me to other
First I'm a huge L7 fanboy. I've seen L7 a crapload of times. Although L7 did not utilize to her full potential, Gail was amazing. She seems nice on camera; she's totally awesome in person.
@@real_fjcalabrese I saw L7 at lallapolooza 1994 in philly, they played real early and no one was there yet so I had front row viewing and they rocked hard as fuhk!
Tanya and the band are on KEXP Whoo hoo She still sounds like an angel even though her register isn't quite as high as it used to be (whose is in truth ?) Real Ramona a masterpiece with the Muses, but Tanya's writing and playing with Belly definitely gave her a driving role Definitely great to have them back; damn fine session
some people age well , some dont. some keep their voice, some just dont...i loved Bellys first record the most: always thought the art on the cover was unusual and interesting...
Super-Connected is such a great song, but I could never sing along to it because it's so damn high! It's interesting to hear Tanya sing it in her more mature voice.
Gail is a progressive who happened to benefit from the Affordable Care Act, after being diagnosed with the Big C. She never pretended to be something she isn't.

Diggin it. I still jam them from time to time. King is in my trucks cd actually. Yes, i still run Cds
Me too! Love King x

one of the great 90's bands.
One of the best American alternative rock bands. Hands down. Extremely underrated.
Saw them in LA in the 90s. What a privilege. They still rock just as hard.

I loved this group in the 90's (years of alternative music and Grunge) ... I'm very happy to hear them again and see them live! ...
Thumbs up#192...
Belly transcends this forum. You are truly honored that they visited.
One of the best bands to come out of the 90s, and Tanya Donelly has had an unbelievably productive and amazing career.
Saw TM a long, long time ago. Stumbled on Belly around '93 and immediately loved Super Connected. Cool to hear it in the rotation.
One of the coolest interviews EVER at the KEXP studio!!
I love Tanya to death, but out of all of her projects, belly is 4 people that bring the heat! The “band” Belly is just the best.
Love this band so much!!!!
Still really really good.
... memories of growing up...thank you for the photo. So lovely to meet you Tanya. ❤️
I adore them, Tanya’s voice is from heaven and those harmonies are incredible
What heavenly sounds ‼🎸💗
Beautiful
No Feed The Tree? Bummer. One of my faves.😎

Every time I see Tonya Donnely I blush. She is so pretty!
Tanya is a goddess, like Debby Harry. My entire body blushes...
Beautiful band and Star / King are both in my top 20 albums of all time. Star is personally signed by Tanya which i love ❤❤❤
The girls have aged well, and beautiful as usual. Actually sound better, tighter as a band today, with really good singing and harmony.
American artist at their best!
Tanya still Rocking . Throwing Muses reunion tour 2019 Please. The Real Ramona one of the best lp's ever.
Still sounds awesome
Counting Backwards a tremendous opener too !!!
@@paulelliott3220 And Last track 2 step a great closer.

Heh, it's an album that contains nothing but quality
Fine point Sir

Didn't they already do a reunion tour to promote the new album?

GAIL! WHAT A LEGEND !
She still gets it
Que bom som, consistente e com base, muito bom :)
Belly is still a Band? Great!! Who knew?
Aaaa amei 💕
I love the fact that Gail is wearing an L7 choker.
First I'm a huge L7 fanboy. I've seen L7 a crapload of times. Although L7 did not utilize to her full potential, Gail was amazing. She seems nice on camera; she's totally awesome in person.
And those L7 rings!

Any Throwing Muses fans in here?
Forever Forever XXX

One dislike - is that you, Fred Abong?
Oh hello, high school.
Hello, college.
I want some of the soap!
Is it Mad Max 👩🏾 photo on the bassist's shirt?
Gail Greenwood was the hot one.😍😍😍😍
Always thought she said "spinning on a dime"
Oops Boston people crush Seattle.
Actually Tanya nowadays looks a lot alike Rhea Seehorn from TV series Better Call Saul.
Mom rock.
Build your own tiny home on wheels.
she looks like ashley fires :v
Vocals at times seem a real struggle on the old songs.
Geezus. What happened? Lol
She got old. :(
Love Tanya (love Belly), but it looks like she's spent too much time in the sun. And the off-key vocals ruin the whole thing. Too bad.
Is that chic seriously wearing a shirt with Maxine Waters on it?
WGAF?
Yup. Gail is a liberal. Check out their Boston show at the Paradise. Gail denigrates the current administration.
18:15 Tanya's reaction when she flubs the beginning of the verse just makes me love her more!
Gail is a progressive who happened to benefit from the Affordable Care Act, after being diagnosed with the Big C. She never pretended to be something she isn't.
Donelly is one of a very few really great alternative rock musicians of the United States.
My favorite song that they have is super connected....and they ruined it WTF!
