I went for a job interview at Harrods 34 years ago. It was in the perfumery department for a particular perfume that had diamonds in the bottom of the bottle. Mohamad Al Fayad took me upstairs to a dimly lit lounge bar for the interview. He asked me what alcohol I wanted to drink. I was so confused. I didn't want a drink, but he tried to talk me into it. He asked a lot of personal questions...did I have a boyfriend etc. Not many questions about my work experience. He then took me down to the perfumery and showed me around and offered me the job. I was so suprised, it was such an odd situation and I felt uneasy. I asked for a day to think about it and he left. As I was leaving, a girl from one of the other perfume counters, discreetly called me over, and told me what a real creep the boss was and the girl that had left had a lot of trouble with him and ended up leaving. The whole time she was smiling and showing me a perfume bottle while talking. She was very nervous about being caught telling me that. Obviously I didn't take the job...thank goodness!

There are a lot of people who should be answering for this - all the men who worked at Harrods, the police, politicians at the time etc. This isn't a case where women only spoke out after the perpetrator's death. Some of them spoke out all along and reported what he did to them to the police, but no-one acted on it and helped them because he was such a rich man. The idea of losing a job at a prestigious company shouldn't be a problem, but it is often seen to be. Wealth shouldn't automatically give someone power, but he was allowed the power to be above the law by the political and justice systems. This needs to end. I hope his survivors do get some justice.
I use to think like some of the people in these comments, but you can never underestimare the power of shame, fright and intimidation. One day I was watching a programme where a lady had been SA and I commented "Why doesn't she tell someone, if that happened to one of my relatives Id be able to tell" at that point my mother confided in me that she had been R'd by a neighbour years prior whilst we as children we're at school when he had visited the house to do some DIY for her. I was shocked and devestated to think we had lived doors away from this man for years and that she had endured that and had to go on as normal without help or support. I begged my mum to go to the police but he had told her that no one would believe her and she felt great shame. My mum died with that secret and I am in a catch 22 as the monster is still alive but we come from a small town and my brother knows a lot of people so word would get around quickly if I confronted him or he was arrested for it. People don't always understand why young folks don't talk about such abuse. I used to work for a company where the owner would call a lot of the girls to his office to so called, " talk about their work and future with the company". I was smart enough to not to give in, but the fact that you were called to his office, gave the other staff members the impression you were having an affair with this person because others were actually doing it. It was never discussed, because people were afraid of losing their jobs, and this was a third world country that poverty was rampant, and jobs were scarce.

I'm so glad the me too movement is in full swing and working its way around the world. Now it can stop. These predators instill deep fear of repercussions. Now its their turn. Here comes Karma!!!😐😠😡💪👍
Horrific.
The same thing is happening in my country, but his fellow men in religion are saying its not true
I was sexually harassed in the workplace by my then boss & proprietor on my first day at work, 33 years ago. It was horrendous. I was too scared to go back there & never went back. I told my dad through my tears. We got a solicitor through the law society, went to tribunal & I won my case. It was such a scary time. I was in all of the press about winning my case. I know why many women don’t do anything at the time, & I understand it. Reporting at the time, although hard, is always the better option, if possible 🙏
I suspected he was a predator when i saw him do a guest appearance on celeb big brother about 20 years ago. He blatantly groped tara reid out of nowhere.
100 per cent believe her
Of course. Why would she make it up. I don't doubt her for a second .Poor girl.
lol she’s an actress
@@JessicaFletcher-nn5ss Money ?? She would do enything to get on TV.
Why she didnt speak up in 2017 MeToo movement ?? Why now, when he is death ??
I think if she said to him mate don't be doing all this instead of leading him on because she probably thought she's going to get paid for it yh she definitely lead him on for him to keep flirting with her
So Proud of this Woman.
Its always a bit part model isnt it, its never a doctor or company director, considering he was a billionaire and mixing with these type of people.
That's not courage , it's what you call common sense, she's a grown woman for goodness sake. . A woman who walks miles to get clean water and carrys it back walking for miles in the hot ☀ sun to provide for her family is courage. Reality check. ✌.
If he were here, he'd lie
Cat not buying it either 😂
Of course you wait to tell the story once he passes😂 wanting that cash
Unfortunately, the guys been dead for decades..
He can defend himself, he can not face consequences.
Why now?
Hope she's got a good lawyer
Sometimes others know but they dont want mud on themselves by telling, and they also have a sacrificial lamb now
20 yrs....
Cat in particular asking questions but putting words in her mouth.
The dad knew this was going on
Hardly
Will have sold her to get higher ranked in the lodge
Her dad was a terrible alcoholic he probably didn't know much about nothing most of the time
Are you all sick in the head of course he didn't know what was happening, your as sick as alfired
I believe you
He is dead and can not defend himself. Why now?
They are all jumping on gbe Harrods gravy train for free money
Blame the Parents ! Always leads back to the parents !
Never ever stay at a place that someone creepy has access to especially if they have already abused. Even if you don’t have money. Put the hotel room on a credit card.
Bianca is *fire !!*
How do you become a fashion buyer in Harrods at 16 🤷♀️
Bianca you are a very strong beautiful young woman, it was sad you couldn't speak up at the time . I am also so glad that you mum went to a meeting when he was going to buy you a flat to live. I would of done the same as your mum i would also gone & spoke to him when you became a fashion buyer at 16 to make sure there was no red flags there. I love the fact you are so caring about your young daughter & other young girls growing up around rich men with power. Stay strong & beautiful
2024 is exposing how so many powerful men use their power to force their will on others. I hope that this will be a warning to them in the future that there are consequences to your actions. Just because they have money doesn’t mean that they are above the law. I hope that more victims also feel more empowered to expose more of these people!
Funnily enough when I was 16 and if my boss forced himself onto me, I would definitely raise this up and left the job ... also I feel that women did alot of wrong things just to progress in life. I would have left the job ...
What is the point of speaking on the dead like this? If only for Money . . . . wrong-un
of course your were! bet u have a solicitor on speed dial.
Unless there is video evidence I can't for the life of me fathom how anyone can prosecute a man that's dead when all you have is the say so from a female on something that may have happened over 30yrs ago!!
I'm not saying the guy wasn't a creep but how can people get financial compensation with no evidence & the other party not here to defend themselves??
Cat Deeley looks ill-incredibly thin. She also appears to have zero energy and looks fed up most of the time.
Agree
Ben Shephard shud be the one looking fed up,he's a West Ham fan ffs 😂
if you ever wonder how to pronounce this Gascoigne- is- Gas Going
I don’t understand why you would come out now when he is dead and he can’t defend himself. I’m not saying you have made this up but I really feel the accused should be able to defend themselve.
Then you need to think longer before you speak
Oh should they! Oh how lovely of you to advocate for the abusers. Yes we must play fair like they did with the 16 year old school girl.
