Well they delivered my Tesla 3 Dual Motor at my residence with no interaction from me. Email notification only so went out tried to figure how to open car with phone only, key card was in vehicle. Fail, fail, got it! Took about 10 minutes and don't know what I did to get it open. Pheww! Took it for 60 mile toot around the area and now understand what some of the excitement surrounding these vehicles is all about. It's so easy to drive! Who wouldn't want to drive a car like this. My inspection reveled nothing amiss, in fact, the paint looks much better than I had anticipated. They also gave a three month use of FSD as a preview plus a year of free supercharging. I beginning to think this changeover to EV may happen faster than projected. I believe volume manufacturing is going to be the big issue. The desire for these cars is going to go ballistic as word spreads. I've been making snide remarks about Tesla for over a year regarding quality issues but when push comes to shove, an ICE vehicle, even a Mercedes, is like going backwards in time. The Tesla just seemed such a logical choice. Now it going to be kinda hilarious if I can't find something to gripe about on my new car. I'll try but I'm pretty much hooked already. App developers don't need cars to develop apps, they can access dummy data and dummy sensors, what they don't like ir to re-write code and obey to rules that don't make sense. For instance , why don't Google let all the apps available, and keep the automotive category for apps that can run with the car in drive mode, why other apps can't work with the car parked? One thing is missing, some people talk about the small screen,it's graphics and info!
I will get my Polestar 2 this week. I have only Apple devices and am looking forward to Apple CarPlay in 2021. There’s quite a few apps available for it including Waze, Podcasts, Messages etc. I also must say I’m impressed with this pretty new car OS. I did a test drive a few weeks back and the voice assistant worked really well so I’m looking forward to using this. Only downside for me is I’m not big on Google services.
Think you should do a video on all of the voice controls. As a whole family in the car we use those for almost everything with music, volume, phone, temperature, seat and wheel heating, even ask Google to be an interpreter to teach the kids some new languages etc on longer journeys.
You mention in a couple of your videos that the parking preconditioning warms the batteries. My impression is that the preconditioning only affects the climate inside the car. With a couple of degrees below zero here in Sweden my regenerative indictor always indicate that it will not use regenerative breaking at all when taking off, regardless of whether I've preconditioned the car for 30-45 mins or not. After some driving regenerative breaking gradually becomes more and more active as the batteries warm up. Same if I want to charge on speed-chargers.. I need to push the car a bit before to make sure the batteries are warm to get above 10-20kW, and again, preconditioning doesn't seem to affect this at all.
now that I look again I dont seem to have any of those big short cut buttons like the one with the gaspump to find a charging station nearby or shortcut controls for the playing of audio ?
If you want the albums then go into albums and look for Beatles. You went into generic so it gives you some samples. The download stuff is automatic depending on how you set everything. It's to have your favorites playlists in memory in case you don't have any network.
I can recommend the libby app giving you access to talking books from your local library. This keeps in sinc with your listening at home. The best news is ITS FREE! You just need a pin from your library.
12:11 what happens if you just tap the word Albums? When I use YTMusic to search The Beatles (from my home in East Grinstead a few miles from you!) I also get those same 3 albums, but the word "Albums" has an arrow to the right to expand to show all albums... just wondering.
I assume the lack of Albums on TH-cam music is down to them not owning the rights to many albums? Does the radio app rely on streaming? I have heard the Polestar does not have an actual dab radio installed which would cause me an issue. The other issue which puts me off the Polestar is no ability to play music stacks from a USB stick? I have a lot of music tracks and more than I can a sensible store on my phone. Thanks for watching! Yes I think it streams from the Internet for dab. When I went to a drive in cinema in October all polestar cars had the audio badly out of sync. We were told that was due to the way the system worked but other cars with Dab were fine. I think it must have been as a result of the dab audio coming via the 4g sim.

It seems a massive misstep, missing a key google maps feature on the launch of Googles car OS, even Audi has Google satellite view in their in-house system. I currently use CarPlay in my S90 to use Google maps and I always use the sat view, it’s so useful especially on unfamiliar journeys!

What about CUSTOM WAYPOINTS in Google Maps?! If I want to type a waypoint I can't!! I can only voice-search! Also I can't rearrange them!

In the Google settings - if you tap 7 times on the 'build number' - does that put you into developer mode ?
No it will say that developer mode is not allowed in the car.
I know that there is no audible warning for speed cameras, but can you tell me if they are visible on google maps?

polestar have partnered with ALD Automotive. I have used them before and would recommend as easy to deal with and fair 👍
