I was excited for Starfield, but it's a huge disappointment. I'd be fine if they just dropped the ip altogether and concentrated on Elder Scrolls and Fallout tbh.
Every Bethesda game is a huge disappointment to someone, every Bethesda game is heaven to someone else. As long as someone enjoys (& buys) each installment, a sequel will arrive eventually.
I dont think Bethesda realized what they were getting into with having such a huge game. Hopefully they size down in their sequel and not experiment with new features!
@ can’t wait for The Outer Worlds 2 though, which is gonna make Starfield look like a aging meme. Althought I don’t hear much about it really, it’s suppose to come out sometime between 2025 & 2026. Still excited for The Outer Worlds 2, already beated the first game 7 times.
For me, I have seen Bethesda release Morrowind. It took a while for that game to gain traction. I have to say that BGS has always been Open World games. With R.P. elements.
Totally agree with every new game the previous audience who has adapted and ended up loving the game that came before all of sudden has to connect to a new game world. This how immersive their games are. I remember when MORROWIND came out and i was rather shocked how different it was from DAGGERFALL yet i adapted and with a bit of help from modding with the transition period it is now an all time favorite along with every game they have made. At this point i have learned that chances are it may take awhile to adjust and fully jump into the reality of each game though FALLOUT 3 and 4 as well as SKYRIM were really easy to get into as there is a completeness in them visually and design wise i have not felt since DAGGERFALL.
Starfield 2 would need seamless space travel similar to games like No Man's Sky and Elite Dangerous. That means a completely different game engine from other Bethesda Games. Hopefully the work on making that engine has already started if indeed a sequel is going to happen.
Why is that a necessity? I’m wanting games like mass effect and they don’t have seamless space travel. Ultimately games like NMS don’t really have a story and I’d rather have a good narrative and better writing then landing on a planet
@DNye Bethesda doesn't make games like Mass Effect though. They make open world games. As Todd Howard said irresponsible scale. A space Bethesda game would need to have seamless exploration of that scale. Unless of course Todd wants to give the IP to Bioware.
This reminds me of Skyrim and Fallout 4. Both of these games had a bunch of hate and negative comments when they came. Both games took a while for the fan base out number the negative Nancy out there.
@@DNye Starfield is garbage and does not deserve a sequel. Bethesda had its run, like Blizzard is not the same anymore. Support indie devs, some of them are future Bethesdas and Blizzards of the industry.
Starfield 2 is the most dogshit idea ive heard in awhile. They need to call it a wrap and focus on not completley fucking up the elder scrolls world and lore.
It will be a long time before they would do anything else with starfield but I’d be fine if they left it alone to focus on their other series which are better anyways
@DNye It feels half finished, story lines rushed, nothing you do actually has any effect in the world unlike prior games. The story itself is lack luster and rushed. 1000 systems and only a few have anything worth seeing, they waited to add a main faction until they released a dlc and even then they couldn't even put in the work for dialog with Andrea. Every time they release a game it seems to get worse. In the quests they have it doesn't actually matter what you choose. I know I'm forgetting other things. I've been playing Bethesda games since I was a kid and I pre ordered this game and went through the unity 8 times, explored every system and it just doesn't hold up to previous games.
@tomlawrence1335 I can for sure agree with the points about the dlc. That felt like cut content from a faction quest line that should have been on the base game
Starfield is Daggerfall in space, if Starfield 2 is going to be Morrowind in space it's going to be awesome Edit: what BGS really needs to do is to have more studios to reduce the development time
I don't think so. Upcoming Eve Frontier, Star Citizen, Exodus, etc., Starfield needs to pull a big one. Close to no loading screens, procedurally generated or immersive handcrafted worlds is a standard by now. Long story short. If Starfield 2 is to be a success to need to ditch the Creation Engine (2). It's just not good enough for such a big and ambitious game.
Depends what you're after though doesn't it? Starfield played to Bethesda's strengths (with the sole exception of a single contiguos handcrafted world space) whilst not even attempting to compete with similarly themed games in areas where those games already delivered great features. Smart move. & a big part of what defines Bethesda's strengths (& therefore also their weaknesses) is creation engine, now CE2. Throw that engine out & you throw out many of the great features Bethesda have mastered over the years with it.

Not going to happen. Until management leaves.
I think I'm 56 and Starfield 2 will be out when I'm in my 70s.
It’s way to long to wait
Hopefully you'll be retired and have more time to game.
How about make Starfield better right now! Lol
That would be nice
Agreed. Talking about a sequel already awfully feels like Starfield 1 is wrapped up and done.
I was excited for Starfield, but it's a huge disappointment. I'd be fine if they just dropped the ip altogether and concentrated on Elder Scrolls and Fallout tbh.
I enjoyed it but I’d much rather have elder scrolls and fallout games going forward

i'm unsure who asked for the sequel to one of the least interesting games we have seen in decades
I’d rather have another fallout or elder scrolls game
I dont think Bethesda realized what they were getting into with having such a huge game. Hopefully they size down in their sequel and not experiment with new features!
I honestly don’t need 1000 procedurally generated planets. I’d be fine with like 5 fleshed out systems or something like Mass Effect.
I think they need to just add more stuff into Starfield 1, rather than working on Starfield 2.
Multiple free DLCS, updates, stories, weapons, & more.
Agreed

Wow, game changer accordingly with bethesda's toxic optimism

I second your No.

Future GOTY
It could be if they make the improvments
Who are you kidding ? Last good Bethesda game was Skyrim
I enjoyed fallout 4 but I get it
Nah, it was oblivion.
Nah, it was morrowind.

Not in the slightest way have they learned anything.

How so?

So in 15 plus years a new starfield. Don’t think it will matter by then.
Prob not
