Today we tell the History behind Kenilworth Castle in Warwickshire. A castle on this site dates back to the Norman times, however it was greatly expanded by the Earl of Leicester, Robert Dudley in the 16th Century. This expansion was for one purpose only, to convince Queen Elizabeth I that he was rich and powerful enough to become her husband. If Elizabeth agreed, Dudley would have become the most powerful man in England. Join us as we tell a story of wars, sieges and of one mans quest for the love of the most powerful woman in England.
